Peek like Miyamoto Musashi
By Kaizen
Approach the angle as Musashi approached a duel:
without haste, without vanity, without the desire to “check”.
The one who checks dies.
The one who knows kills.

How to peek properly in CS2
Most players don’t die because they can’t aim — they die because they peek wrong. Dry peeking into a held angle is suicide against anyone pre-aimed and ready.

1) Don’t dry-peek for “info” if the enemy is already holding

If someone is holding the angle, you are entering a losing duel. Dry-peeking just gives them a free kill.
Solution: flash/molly before peeking, wait for them to reposition, or double-peek with a teammate.

2) Use a wide peek against AWP

AWP kills for a pixel. A tight jiggle is often a free death. A wide peek forces the sniper to move his crosshair and increases his reaction time.
But: wide peeks are bad vs good riflers — they will punish reckless wide swings.

3) Shoulder peek to bait a shot

Use it to force a shot without risking death. Small “shoulder” jiggle → instantly go back → after the shot, swing out for the kill or trade.

4) Don’t peek when you’re losing in timing

– Bomb is being planted?
– Enemy is already set and waiting?
– Retaking alone?
Peeking in these spots = donation. Better to rotate, wait for a teammate, or save.

5) Peek only when you have advantage, not when you “feel like peeking”

You create advantage by:

  • utility (flash / molly / smoke)
  • timing (catching movement)
  • numbers (double peek)
  • information (you know his spot — he doesn’t know yours)
