Since EA forced the game to run through the EA Launcher, crashes have become a non-stop problem — usually after 5–30 minutes of play. This guide should help increase your playtime to a few hours before it crashes again.

EA Launcher
In the EA Launcher, open Settings → Application, and disable the In-Game Overlay.
This not only reduces crashes but also allows the game launches in proper fullscreen mode, as the EA overlay conflicts with Steam.

Dragon Age 2 Video Settings
In the game's video settings, switch the renderer to DirectX 9, from whatever the current setting is.

Play the Game
This should fix the main crash issue caused by EA’s awful bloatware.
