What Shield Actually Does
While shielding carries some similarities with FD mechanics from other anime games, its actual function is very different. Here's what happens when you shield:
  • Decrease blockstun by 3 frames
  • Gain GRD for each hit shielded
  • Slightly increase pushback
  • Prevent an opponent from taking further aerial actions when shielding an aerial button
