FM26 Real Name Fix Guide
By TGW Jamie
This guide will show you how to get the real names into Football Manager 26. Fake names are used within the game due to licensing restrictions but this will fix it.

Guide
1) Quit the game if you haven’t already

2) Download the Real Name Fix .zip file (You can do so from here: FM Scout FM26 Real Names Licence Fix[www.fmscout.com])

3) Go to the database files.

The default paths for these files are as followed:
Windows:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 26\shared\data\database\db

Mac:
/Users/(username)/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 26/fm.app/Contents/PlugIns/game_plugin.bundle/Contents/Resources/shared/data/database/db/

When navigating to 'fm.app' and 'game_plugin.bundle', you will need to use a two-finger click or right click and then click on 'Show Packaged Contents' to access the files.

PLEASE NOTE: To find the 'Library' folder on a Mac, open Finder, click 'Go' in the menu bar at the top of the screen and then hold down the ⌥ (option) key on your keyboard and the 'Library' option should appear on the drop down menu for you to click.

Complete the following with each folder that starts with 26 (e.g. 2600 or 2610)

4) Open the ‘Inc’ folder

5) Open the ‘all’ folder

6) Delete the following 12 files:
  • ac milan (wom).Inc
  • acc Inter unlic 24.Inc
  • acmilan unlic 24.Inc
  • fake.Inc
  • inter (wom).Inc
  • inter unlic 24.Inc
  • japanese names.Inc
  • lazio (wom).Inc
  • lic_dan_swe_fra.Inc
  • licensing club name_fm24.Inc
  • men lazio.Inc
  • men.atalanta.Inc

7) Move the 'FM26 Fix by FMScout.Inc' and 'FM26 Club Names by FMScout.Inc' inside of the ‘all’ folder

8) Go back to the 26XX folder and open the ‘edt’ folder

9) Then open the ‘permanent’ folder

10) Delete the ‘fake.edt’ file

11) Go back to the 26XX folder and open the ‘dbc’ folder

12) Then open the ‘permanent’ folder

13) Delete the following 12 files:
  • 1_japan_removed_clubs.dbc
  • brazil_kits.dbc
  • england.dbc
  • forbidden names.dbc
  • france.dbc
  • japan_fake.dbc
  • japan_unlicensed_random_names.dbc
  • j league non player.dbc
  • licensing_post_data_lock.dbc
  • licensing2.dbc
  • licensing26.dbc
  • netherlands.dbc

14) Open the ‘language’ sub folder

15) Delete the following 2 files:
  • Licensing2.dbc
  • Licensing2_chn.dbc

16) You can now close all the file explorer windows and open Football Manager 26 with all the real names

PLEASE NOTE: This fix only works with Brazilian clubs when a new save is created. Any existing saves will see the real names implemented for everything EXCEPT the Brazilian clubs.

@kahlbart - the guide has been updated to include deleting some more .dbc files so that may help you. You will have to start a new save for the Brazilian names to update as these names are generated whenever a new save is started

@peng007 - you may have to either reinstall your game or verify the integrity of your games files to get the folders to show

@Noo[p]Ro @darthmojo83 - If you can't see the 'language' sub folder, I wouldn't worry about it as all you're doing is just deleting both files in there. And if you can't see the sub folder, then the files won't be in there. You can always verify the integrity of your game files on Steam and see if that will make it appear too.
