Are Sally's craftable items worth grinding for money?
By TheNobleDez
As you should already know, Sally (the shopkeeper) has a whole list of quests for you to complete. Quests where you gather materials from monsters so she can craft an item for you. In the middle-late to late game, these items become outclassed by other gear you come across. But are they worth repeating so you can get money from them? In this guide, I'll be outlining the value of these pieces of gear, then comparing them to the money you'd get just from selling the loose items. (Minor spoiler warning for Sally's quest items and some enemy drop items.)

Spectral Powder
Starting off with the objectively worst craftable item here, blue cocaine that makes you disappear. You need 20 Ghostdust and 8 Geist Collars. The total value of the items is 56 Crowns, which obviously isn't a lot, however you get 6 Spectral Powder, at 30 Crowns each, coming out to 180 Crowns total. It may be worth grinding a bit in the early game, but 180 Crowns alone quickly becomes worthless. (The 79 EXP you get isn't worth it either by the way.)
Mekspears
Mekspears are up next, which just look like lances for alpha males. For a Mekspear, you simply need 1 Mekboar Spear and 15 Slimek Cores. The Mekboar Spear is worth 5 Crowns, whilst the Slimek Cores are 45 total, (3 each,) bringing the total to 50 Crowns. The spear however, is 180. More than triple, yes, but still not a lot.
Wizwands
The next weapon is a Wizwand, which looks like something you could buy at Disney World for $100. For a Wizwand, you need 1 Wizboar Scepter, 5 Blightwood Sticks, and 5 Blightwood Logs. The scepter is worth 6 crowns, the sticks are 5, (1 each,) and the logs are 20 (4 each.) That brings the total to 31 Crowns. The Wizwand is worth 215 Crowns, however.
Vile Blade
This weapon is a bit different from the Mekspear and Wizwand, seeing how you need a Rude Blade along with your ingredients, which are 5 Mouth Bitterteeth, 3 Slimek Eyes and 5 Deathgel Cores. The Rude Blade is 42 Crowns, Mouth Bitterteeth are 45 Crowns, (9 each,) The Slimek eyes are 12, (4 each,) and the Deathgel Cores are 45, (9 each,) bringing the total to 144 Crowns. The Vile Blade however, is only 81. This is the first instance where you'd be better off selling the ingredients over crafting the blade. (It does look cool though, not gonna lie.)
Golem Chestpiece
The Golem Chestpiece is the first piece of armor Sally can make for you. It costs a simple 10 Golem Cores and 15 Golem Gems. The Golem Cores are 70 Crowns, (7 each,) and the Gems are 45, (3 each,) bringing the total to 115 Crowns. The Chestpiece however, is 816 Crowns. Nearly 7 times the value of the ingredients.
Ragespears
Ragespears take an interesting turn, since you need a Mekspear from before, 1 Rageboar Spear and 15 Hellsludge Cores. It also looks very edgy. The Mekspear, as established before, is 180 Crowns, the Rageboar Spear is 10, and the Hellsludge Cores are 180, (12 each,) making the total for the ingredients 370 Crowns. The spear however, is 284 Crowns. Again, you'd be better off selling the loose ingredients.
Monolith Chestpiece
This Chestpiece is like the Ragespear, as in you need a prior Golem Chestpiece, along with 15 Monolith Cores, 10 Monolith Gems and 5 Cursed Notes. The Golem Chestpiece is worth 181 Crowns, the Monolith Cores are 255, (17 each,) the Monolith Gems are 40, (4 each,) and the Cursed Notes are 45, (9 each,) with the total being 521 Crowns. The Monolith Chestpiece is 720 Crowns, however.
Firebreath Blade
Next is a Firebreath Blade, which looks like something from a hentai. For a Firebreath Blade, you need a Serrated Blade, 12 Firebreath Glands and 5 Cursed Notes. The Serrated Blade is 277 Crowns, the Firebreath Glands are 180, (12 each,) and the Cursed Notes are 45, (9 each,) making the total 502 Crowns. The Firebreath blade is 720 crowns though.
Follycannon
Lastly is the Follycannon. This weapon will take you a minimum of half an hour to grind for, but the damage is actually pretty worth it. If you did want to sell one though, it'd take 30 Boomboar Gears, 50 Mekboar Nails, 15 Boomboar Pouches and 8 Mekboar Spines. The Gears are 660 Crowns, (22 each,) the Nails are 550, (11 each,) The Pouches are 675, (45 each,) and the Spines are 136, (17 each,) bringing the total to a whopping 2,021 Crowns. The cannon itself however, is only 816 Crowns.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I'd say none of them are really worth grinding for crowns, since you'd probably get more from just grinding the highest level dungeon you can and selling all of the loot. Why did I make this guide then? Because I wanted to. <3 (I really shouldn't have, this took me way too long...)
