Introduction
I wanted to create an up-to-date guide for a democratic capitalist Rayne that aligns Sordland firmly West and defangs the Old Guard.

Note that not all the choices I made in this guide are necessary, and that I didn't include every dialogue option if said option makes no difference, or was totally obvious from my strategy outline. Any comments are welcome.

Hope you enjoy, fellow capitalism enjoyers!

Strategy outline
Politics: hardcore capitalism and reformism, although we will do quite a bit of welfare spending and social stuff, and not give the Oligarchs everything they want. We’ll reconcile with the Bluds too.

Diplomacy: we’ll align West and join ATO. We’ll ally Agnolia and Lespia, recognise Heljiland as Agnolian, and trade with Wehlen (partial OBT). It’s not necessary to get Rumburg kicked out of OMEC and sanctioned by the AN, but I like to do it anyway.

Reforms: we can’t do Article 6 and 7 reform without conservative support, but we also don't need conservatives, so we’ll go for a pretty hardcore reformist constitution. Keep in mind never to antagonise the Supreme Court, Soll or the Old Guard in general before passing your reforms. We’ll lock up Soll and Lileas and impeach Hawker after our reforms have passed.

Economy: we’ll double down on Alphonso’s capitalism and privatise everything (education, health care, SSC and Nedam Mining). We’ll still spend a lot on welfare though, and cut taxes for SMEs.

Military coup: we’ll defund the military, which Iosef and Valken will be angry about, but we’ll join ATO and be fine. Just don’t transfer the Gendarmerie to the Interior, and build the Rumburg fortifications (I think the last one is optional, but I haven’t tested it).

Corruption: we won’t take any bribes, but we will take Koronti’s media deal. He'll keep supporting us even if we don't give him the favour he wants.

Personal: after the prologue, try to be a good husband and father. Our feminist politics will please Monica.
Prologue
Start middle-income or poor. We need 2 PW for lobbying the assembly, so investing 1 in Armadine can be enough. I like to buy FC Anrica though, and it fits our affluent liberal roleplay.

Pick the economics degree and the student council to econ-max!

Feminism! But no socialism or nationalism, of course.

Escort back the refugees, we need to appease the military.

Sacrifice family time, we need USP moderates to be on our side.

Join the internal opposition and vote for Alphonso, campaign for him, dedicate yourself to the party and then advise Alphonso to step down.
Turn 1
Promise market economy, aligning West, relaxed immigration and any ministry beside Defence.

In the political briefing choose democratic reforms, and in the economic briefing finish what Alphonso started: stick to the promise of a market economy. In the media briefing set up the meeting with Koronti.

Veto the Campaign Finance Bill.

Invest in mega-infrastructure and choose the L-1 high-speed railway.

Invest in Armadine with all (1 or 2) of your personal wealth.

At the inaugural reception, tell the journalist you want to work with the opposition if they’re willing to support us, welcome Ricter’s support and say your veto was for democracy.

In the emergency meeting, refrain from taking sides and protect freedom of speech.
Turn 2
In the security briefing show interest in revoking the Bergia Special Zone.

Visit affected towns in person, objectively the best decision to reduce unrest.

We want to be friendly with the Oligarchs, but don’t take Tusk’s bribe. Beside us wanting to keep somewhat clean hands, we also want to sign the Workers’ Rights Act which is easier to do with Taurus instead of Underhall.

Be friendly with Koronti and take his deal. We won’t really give him what he wants later on, but our focus on privatisation will make him happy enough anyway.

We could use the money elsewhere, but the downward spiral from not enacting an economic relief plan is really rough. I pick stimulus cheques, since Oligarchs will like us anyway.

For the L-1 project, pick Taurus Holding.

Attend Circas’ funeral, let in the Red Youth, and be unifying in your speech.

In the diplomatic briefing, condemn Rumburg’s consulate closure with a letter. You can go for the more aggressive option as we’ll be safe in ATO, but that prevents sanctions.

Sign the Tourism and Cultural Preservation Act.

In the reform committee meeting reiterate your support for reforms.

When Hawker comes to get you not to reform, do it anyway, but keep it polite. Let him and Garaci tell you about Ricter’s Arcasian adventures if you want.
Turn 3
Agree with Ciara and Paskal in the welfare briefing, we’ll do workers’ rights and feminism.

Meet with Gus and Alphonso and show interest in Gus’ plans for Gruni’s development. Be polite, co-invest in Gasom with Rizia and get Alphonso to provide housing, health care and education.

As I understand it, leaving by car actually increases unrest, while leaving by helicopter only reduces public opinion. Take the latter option and chat with Alphonso.

Don’t ban either the Red Youth or the Young Sords.

Veto the GREEN Act.

For the constitutional draft, choose the following:
  • Limit vetoes (3/5 override)
  • Remove Supreme Court voting rights
  • Assembly and Supreme Court may impeach
  • Confidence vote
  • Decrease threshold to 3%
  • Decrees require an Enabling Act
  • 2-term limit
  • Justices may be impeached
  • Abolish Member of Honour

Completely remove the EPA, this will earn us quite the profit from Gasom and we’ll get energy prices in the green once we join ATO.

After the Business Council meeting don’t promise Tusk his tax cut, as we won’t have the budget for it.

Now for the budget, increase everything but Defence, which we will decrease. Sweet ATO freedom dividend here we come!
Turn 4
Sign the Workers’ Rights Act.

Invest in the Lorren region.

Give the increased law enforcement budget to the Ministry of Justice, and let Nia form the Anti-Corruption Police (ACP).

Go on an evening walk with Monica, be feminist as always and agree to let her do the opening speech at the Benfi festival (we won’t cancel it this time, as we don’t need the conservatives).

Give Taurus the extra money they need.

In the tax meeting maintain taxes on big corporations, and reduce taxes on SMEs.

Inspect the school in Leiren and be polite, but call out the nonsense and get the principal to make changes. Don’t take down the Soll portrait, we don’t want to anger anyone just yet.

In the education briefing agree to Ciara’s reforms, and privatise.

Mechanise existing farms for the Gruni investment.

Meet with Gloria, but don’t give her anything, we don’t need her support. No harm in being polite though.

Win the chess game against Lucian (there’s guides for how), and be respectful to him, he’ll be more loyal.

Meet with Albin, he’ll support you. In the speech say the USP needs to win the next election and don’t target the Old Guard/Supreme Court.
Turn 5
Accept Arcasian aid, easy money and first step towards ATO membership.

Like every other NFP bill, veto the Religious Harmony Bill.

Get money from Armadine! We’ll use it to lobby the Assembly later.

Keep immigration relaxed as promised.

If you went for middle class, you could invest in FC Anrica or buy a vineyard.

At the Benfi festival tell Leste to calm down when he interrupts, and when he keeps doing it accuse him of rudeness, berating the President’s wife and making a scene. Back home promise Monica that you’ll work with her for even more feminism!

Build the Rumburg fortifications, we can spare the money.

Tell Karl to pursue Hawker, and focus the ACP on the Old Guard.

In Agnolia, be nice to Hoorten and gift him a sword or a copy of the constitution. Don’t accept his initial offer, say you can’t agree to higher prices and ask if there’s room for discussion. Recognise Heljiland as Agnolian and accept his offer of alliance.

In Wehlen only take Smolak’s last offer, which is closing our borders to Bluds (partial OBT).

In the speech make sure you don’t target the Old Guard. Tell the Assembly they’ve been overshadowed, focus on unity and tell Gloria you won’t destroy Sollism.
Turn 6
Tell Iosef to be lenient on fleeing Bluds, and remove conscription (we can’t pay them anyway).

Invest in the Benfi airport project.

In the Bergia meeting we will agree to Lileas’ centralisation plan. Without conservative support I believe Nia’s autonomy plan won’t pass, but I haven’t fully tested it.

Energy crisis! We lose 1 budget, not too bad.

Sign the Central Bank Reinforcement Act.

With our increased health care budget, privatise, improve rural treatment and increase salaries.

Meet with Ricter, he’ll support us. Chat about Arcasia if you like, but trust him.

For the Benfi airport project pick Taurus once again.

With our increased education budget, build more rural schools and increase salaries. Also enforce evolution in the school curriculum.

Sell 2/3 of our Gasom shares, for big rewards.

On Victory Day join the statement suggested by the NFP. This will ensure the removal of Governor Bron and make the USP vote to centralise the Special Zone.

Spend a generous amount on lobbying MPs (2 PW).
High returns from Gasom shares, yay!
Turn 7
Be diplomatic and tell Koronti you won’t meddle in Oligarch affairs.

Tell Lucian you want to privatise.

Privatise both the SSC and the Nedam Mining Group.

Meet with Tusk and Koronti, don’t let them bribe you and let them compete for shares on the market.

Veto the Unified Education Language Act.

During the Assembly vote, tell Mansoun you’ll fight for Bludish rights, and leave Soll be. You’ll narrowly win the vote. Don’t agree to a PFJP alliance afterwards.

Accept the Rumburg whistleblower, this is key for AN sanctions later on (which we don’t need, but we’ll do anyway).

Open negotiations with Lespia in the diplomatic briefing.

Send Franc to military school (or spend PW to send him to Harcard if you have enough for lobbying afterwards).

Just do the correct things in the Day of Descension ceremony, and don’t let the Archpriest think religion can influence your politics. Also don’t confess to any shady dealings you may have been a part of.

Now for convincing Justice Edmonds, which is comparatively easy with this constitution. Still, these dialogue options should guarantee her support:
  • Wait for her to order.
  • Stand up for a handshake.
  • Address her as Justice.
  • Let her order first.
  • Also order salad.
  • How is the situation?
  • Not if you support us.
  • It’s about equality and rights.
  • We need a proper balance of power.
  • Doing my best to start the change.
  • Respectable justices against the Old Guard!
  • Ensure ... transparency.
  • Please help us achieve this victory.
  • Judiciary should not have legislative powers.
  • Not Arcasia’s puppet.
  • Together in this, for further reforms.
  • Court should have power of judicial review.
  • Ensuring limits of own power.
  • Threshold affects all of us.
  • Centrists need not worry.
  • Soll will be a regular citizen.
  • Stay silent.
Then send Lucian to reach out to Heron. Take his deal so we can impeach Hawker later. Enjoy the win at the Supreme Court.

In the cabinet meeting don’t promise Lileas a transfer of the Gendarmerie. Announce changes in the manifesto, get the trial of Soll and the impeachment of Hawker underway, and let Karl continue his investigation.

Time to address the nation! Now that we have passed the reforms we can freely bash the Old Guard, Soll included. Enjoy.
Turn 8
Change the manifesto from Sollist to liberal. Nominate the most experienced judge to the Supreme Court. Pick the three decrees beside lower retirement age, say you want the media council to be independent, and sign the documents for abolishing the Bergia Special Zone.

Sign the Bergia Standardisation and Unity Measure.

Now for that drunk Alvarez. Sell Sordish Petroleum to Lespia, and agree to an alliance.

Drink with Petr and tell him we can weather the affair, but do tell Lucian about it.

Pretend not to believe Lucian in front of Livia, but let him investigate.

Hear the results of the investigation and only blame Livia/Ilana. In the press briefing do the same, and make sure you call her Ilana the Rumburgian spy, we need that for sanctions.

In the women’s rights briefing, agree with everything Monica and Ciara propose, and support their bill.

If you have any PW at this point, there’s no good non-roleplay reason to donate to the Sordish Leage of Women, it won’t affect anything as far as I can tell.

Don’t transfer the Gendarmerie to the Interior. Unless you want to get couped by Iosef. If so, do transfer the Gendarmerie.

Anti-vaxxers BTFO! Tell Paskal to mandate vaccines.

Sign the Less Smoke Bill.

I like building a state-of-the-art medical school, but anything goes.

Attend the Aschraf Anniversary. Raise Mansoun's hand, pick a non-red candle, light the torch together, hold a nice speech and hug Mansoun. It’s reconciliation time!

Accept Arcasian military aid, and expand agricultural industry.
Turn 9
Sign the Women’s Liberation Act.

Add the medium budget surplus.

Veto the Human Dignity Bill.

Sign the Children for Future Act.

Agree to support Mansoun’s bill, then sign the Minority Rights Act.

Sign the Alcohol Tax Act.

Sign the Fair Luxury Tax Act.

Don’t fund a political youth group.

In the war room meeting, de-escalate with Rumburg, and don’t allow the military parade.

Take the meeting with Walker, and join ATO!

If you have any PW left, you can spend it on campaign advertising, but you don’t need it.

Enjoy Soll’s imprisonment, and Lileas too! Don’t do a full-on purge.

Don’t take the loan in the economic briefing, we don’t need it.

In the TV interview:
  • Rumburg has been increasingly aggressive.
  • Willing to avoid conflict.
  • Willing to work together to achieve peace.
  • Can’t put anything past Rumburg.
  • Evidence of Rumburg’s interference.
  • Ilana Vance.
  • Share responsibility.
  • Seas are not Valgsland’s to claim.
  • Should calm the situation.
  • Ready to act if allies need us.
  • Valgsland who’s harassing Agnolia.
  • Wehlen situation breaks my heart.
  • Could not distinguish civilians from militants.
After the interview, you should be able to see in Rumburg’s country information that they are no longer a member of OMEC. Up next: AN sanctions.
Turn 10
Enjoy the football match. If you bought shares in FC Anrica, give the following speech to ensure their victory (not the only way, but it works):
  • Your president stands with you.
  • Show the Sordish spirit.
  • Must be executed with precision.
  • Let go of lingering doubts.
  • Don’t want to see regrets.
  • Extraordinary team.
  • Proud of all of you.
  • Eye to eye, tooth to tooth!

In the Alliance of Nations Assembly, don’t applaud or respond to anyone. Wait until it’s your turn to give a speech. Then:
  • Committed to the ideals of the AN.
  • Dream of a peaceful and free world.
  • Faced with dangers of division.
  • Unite under this charter.
  • Address topics mentioned.
  • Saddened by events in Wehlen.
  • Many unnecessary deaths.
  • Support Hoorten.
  • Against Valgslandian aggression.
  • Achieve peace in Eastern Merkopa.
  • Don’t respond to Hegel.
  • Address the Queen of Rumburg.
  • We want peace, but are threatened by Rumburg.
  • Diplomatic even when plane was shot down.
  • Evidence about KA-74s.
  • Another piece of evidence, very nuclear much wow!
  • Rumburg must be investigated.
  • Wish for an AN resolution.
  • Can no longer ignore enemies of peace.
  • Long live unity and peace.
  • Peace in Merkopa/the world.
If you’ve done it the right way, there will be a report in Holsord about the AN ambassador supporting Sordland. This will be followed later by a report of AN sanctions on Rumburg.

Don’t need to move any PW you may have left to Kyrute.

Focus your campaign on anything but the military, for obvious reasons. I think education is a pretty liberal choice.

In the presidential debate, make sure to brag a bit about your achievements, and don’t directly respond or give credit to anyone else. Also promise to put a man on the moon, as it’s the most liberal option.
Turn 11
Hold your election speech, say whatever you like, and win! :D

Behold the results!

The economy is doing pretty well!

Rumburg sanctioned and severely weakened, for the hell of it.

Die-hard capitalist.

What could I do differently so I get democrat at the end instead of capitalist?
pash 17 Oct @ 7:19am
Actually you can be as aggressive as possible with Rumburg, even if you wanna get sanctions. All that matters is that you pick the correct dialogues in Interview and AN
