Hey,

wanted to make this quick guide for NVIDIA users like myself that use HDR monitors and don't wanna turn off HDR every time playing the game.

1. Install Terraria, then tModLoader. Enable HDR in windows.

2. Launch tModLoader. (go to options and make the game fullscreen and then optionally turn either on or off the borderless fullscreen option)

3.
- Note that the game launches from a different launcher rather than the default one "Terraria" (You can check this in Task Manager) so you'll have to add it to your NVIDIA app game list for it to always launch with HDR.
- Open NVIDIA APP.
- Go to Graphics
- Click on 3 dots to "Add a program"
- Find where your tModLoader is installed and find "dotnet.exe" then add it. Example location: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\tModLoader\dotnet\dotnet.exe"
- It should now be on the list along with your other games. It will say that the program doesn't support optimization. That means you've done everything correctly.

4. While in NVIDIA APP, choose dotnet.exe and you'll see Driver Settings. In that area, click to turn ON the RTX HDR.
- NOTE: You must have NVIDIA overlay and "game filters and photo mode" enabled in the NVIDIA settings tab.

5. Launch tModLoader as usual.
- Make sure the game is running fullscreen and not windowed.

6. Press ALT + Z to open NVIDIA overlay (May be different if you have it set up differently).
- Go to Game Filters
- You should see RTX HDR under active filters (if not, then add it manually by clicking the + sign. restart is needed if it wasn't enabled by default)

7. Configure the HDR settings if needed. I have peak brightness max and middle greys on max too. Contrast and saturation at 0.

Done.

MISC:
Yes this works for non modded Terraria too. Do all the same, except you don't need to do step 3, and instead just go to terraria program in NVIDIA graphics and there under driver settings enable RTX HDR.
