Pace
I know it can be very tempting to rush around every corner or slow down and enjoy ancient holes BUT You must find a balance
  • Make sure to use your grappling hook for simple movement and aggressive gapclose to priority targets.
  • Not every daimon must be killed. After first boss they stop being meat piñatas so avoiding some groups not just save your time but also your health (or your Corruption bar). Sometimes rushing objective is a viable option.
  • Gather elite mobs around pillar objective (last quest before boss fight) and then use it. It will insta kill them and also spawn embryos for the quest.
  • Sacrifice Humans for health and kill Eyes for Corruption decrease. Don't need it, don't go there.
Combat
It can be a LMB spam but with style
  • Flying Eyes are priority targets. Same as Mages.
  • Abuse your attack range: some weapons with Ascension have insane reach. Taking it tactical can save you from unnecessary chip damage.
  • Only Forward Dash changes your attack so don't overuse it, mind your stamina. Keeping Block/Parry ready are both defense options.
  • Pay attention to sound cues. Most dangerous enemies do have them right before one-shotting you.
  • You can charge your LMB and then dash forward to reach enemies with a huge swing.
  • Use your double jump to reach heads of big enemies for weakspot hits.
  • Time your parry to redirect those pesky projectiles from flowers. Sometimes it's faster than charging your own range shot.
Weapons
Only twohanded weapons are an option. Gigachad option. Except for hammers, they suck.

And a small tip for rings/amulets:
There is a kill feed that you can study for breakpoints and to know certain resistances against your nemesis. Rings have 2 stats so you can cover at least 2 worst enemies, 1 for middle and 1 for late stage. With Amulet it goes for 3.

The best way to farm your first solid gold weapon is looping first 3 floors and a Gatekeeper boss at A tier (3rd difficulty). You can get up to 3 gold weapons per run.

Here is a small list of upgrades you should aim for.
These are probably the best options you can get on your weapon.

Now go and catch them all on your single weapon, champ!
Don't stop the crusade until then!

Full max'ed it only debuffs 10% of your damage but allows to ignore all armour and shields in the game. Though you will have to rely on dodges only.
