Overview
What is an Origin? Where are the old perks? How do I advance? These are common questions about the new Beta.

Origins replace the old development point system. Now all techs start as unlocked and you can build every building that used to require a dev point from the start without unlocking them. Origins are the story behind who the people are who have come to this wilderness, why they are here, and what their different strengths and weaknesses are. These people are the grapes that you plant in this soil and will interact in different ways with the terroir that you have them village in.

Currently you access a choice of Origin by building 5 burgage plots and reaching the Small Village level of settlement. As can be seen in the screenshot above, further buffs seem to be planned, but for 0.8.035 there are no further buffs beyond this first level available.
