Crashes and other Problems:
!!! NOTE !!!
You shouldn't play above 60 FPS, the game launcher allows custom FPS setting, but you should play at 30 max 60 (so you don't break the game, this is the culprit of many problems)
Please refer to Windows official guides to use their utilities as i'm not responsible for the harm you may do to your device
Unfortunately I never had big problems with this game, so I couldn't test all these solutions with my hands, but the guide will get updated if a solution is confirmed

First of all, look for a fix to your problem in "Technical Issues" or "Gameplay Issues" to not lose time, in the index or scroll down below, if you couldn't fix your issue there then you can check some of the "General Solutions".
The solutions I wrote in those 3 highlighted sections, are all in order from things you should try first and if those at the top don't work you can then follow the order for more drastic solutions.

Must-have fixes from the modding community:
MEGUMemLeakFix[github.com], fixes memory leak issues within the game, improves long play sessions
GettingUpTrainCamFix[discord.com], fixes the train camera's jumping when playing at high FPS during the subway mission

Stay tuned in the future for more information...

- General solutions
These can obviously vary, depending on the problem you have with the game, so you have to pretty much guess yourself, try them if the solutions in "Technical Issues" and "Gameplay Issues" didn't help, and let me know which worked for your problem.
I classified them in order from normal methods, middle ground to last resort if nothing works.
    ‎ ‎ ‎ 🟢▓▓▓
  • Restart your PC;
  • Launch Steam as administrator;
  • Verify the game's files in properties on Steam;
  • Run the game as admin and/or in compatibility mode (XP,Vista or 7) trying both the normal .exe and the launcher;
  • Remove "Read only" from the game's folder properties;
  • Whitelist the game from antivirus/play with the antivirus turned off;
  • Grant the game permission to modify folders (for example savegames) from the antivirus;
  • Close any external program running in the background that can interfere with the game (for example FPS monitoring softwares);
  • Install all the redistributable software required by the game (DirectX 9.0c[www.microsoft.com]and Visual C++ : 2005[www.microsoft.com] 2008[download.microsoft.com]2010[download.microsoft.com]);
  • Enable the d3d8to9 driver and "Draw Pillarboxes" in the game's launcher;
  • Update your PC drivers;

    🟡▓▓░
  • Uninstall the game, remove any leftover file and reinstall;
  • Install the game in a folder different than Program Files (for Retail version, not Steam, to avoid folder permission problems);
  • Run the game in Reduced color mode (16 bit) and Disable display scaling on high DPI settings;
  • Run the game in fullscreen or borderless window, see if it changes the problem;
  • Whitelist the game from firewall;
  • Run "dxdiag" (DirectX Diagnostic Tool) in Windows and see if there's any problems;

    🔴▓░░
  • Run the game with an independent graphics card instead of integrated graphics card;
  • Put Getting Up as high priority in task manager, when playing it;
  • Try running the game using only 1 CPU core;
  • Use "Large Address Aware" flag on the game's .exe (with NTCore[ntcore.com]);
  • Do a registry check in Windows (for example using CCleaner[www.ccleaner.com]);
  • Run "chkdsk","defrag" and "cleanmgr" in Windows, make sure there is no problem with your storage device (hard disk);
  • Run Windows "event viewer", search for any problems in Windows Logs → Application;
    • Find Marc Ecko, tag his shirt with an orange X and force him to make a remake/sequel.
