How to make Silent Hill f actually feel like Dark Souls
By UnemploymentFinalBoss
This game's combat has been consistently compared to Dark Souls combat. I personally feel like it is significantly worse so I've compiled a few mods together that when all used actually makes the combat exciting and fun and makes those Dark Souls comparisons more valid.

This mod is the first one you should download and is the absolute backbone of improving this game's combat.
It takes the clunky feel of the combat and turns it into a fluid experience, changing both the player's feel and the reaction of enemies so they don't just tank every hit you throw at them and react in a realistic way.

The mod itself has a features section listing what it improves, here it is;
    Features:
  • Reduced hit lag
  • Different reactions depending on the effect (Stun, Knockdown, Cut etc.)
  • Strong and critical attacks intentionally keep a slight or moderate shake effect to feel more impactful
  • Enemy reactions may vary in intensity for better realism
  • Heavier weapons have bigger impact
  • Works on bosses and standard enemies (though some game mechanics may override effects)

Max Item Stack by Shad0wrend[www.nexusmods.com]

The inventory system in this game doesn't work. It just doesn't. I love a good inventory system but the way it's implemented in this game make no sense and is unnecessarily restrictive.
This mod changes this and makes the inventory system more intuitive by giving you the choice of 10 stacks, 33 stacks, 66 stacks, or 99 stacks. All of which are an improvement on the base game's design.

Similar to the inventory system, I love durability in games when it's done well. Especially Dark Souls. But just like the inventory, this system is implemented poorly and is far too much of a hassle.
This mod makes the durability of all weapons significantly better while also keeping the importance of Toolkits in the game.
You can either set all weapons to a flat 2500 durability, or double each weapons respective durability so that each weapon still feels unique to use.

This is completely optional but I personally feel like the upgrades in the game are unnecessarily expensive as a way of artificial padding and the game's pace works signifcantly better when the costs are reduced.
You can choose to reduce them by 25%, 50% or 75%.

Again, this one is optional, but it allows you to either increase or decrease enemy spawns depending on what you prefer. I personally enjoy the reduced version as it makes each enemy encounter more meaningful without it becoming overwhelming which the base game suffers with.

Enjoy your new and improved combat!
