Super Animal Royale Lore Guide (beta)
By Gearbox2011
My take on the Lore for Super Animal Royale and all it's known inhabitants!
This is my first time making a lore guide, and I guarantee there's some things I have yet to find, so I'm gonna make a few assumptions here and there, which will probably be absolutely derailed by Super Animal World.
Lemme know if I missed any key points or something

Introduction
Hi.
In case you missed the above, superimposed text, This is your average lore guide, filled with assumptions and possible misinformation. It's just my take on the lore, nothing more than that. I'm gonna make this guide in chronological order of events (from what little I can get) and try not to mess everything up. Now, without further ado, let's get to the 'Lore' part of the lore guide.
The Beginning
So.
Sometime in the future, there was a... let's call them a company, that decided to research biological engineering. Brass tacks version, they researched how to change animal DNA in order to give them a more... human appearance. I don't have a lot of info on what exactly happened in the early days of SAR's timeline, but there are clues that tell us humans ran the park at first, and might just still be running it behind the scenes, or at least have left the animals to their own devices. Back to our current point, the research was... well, let's just say success eluded the scientists for quite a while. The best they had made so far was a puddle of green goo. Then, somebody had a breakthrough. One of the scientists thought to himself, "does it have to look like an animal?" and used their... DNA splicer machine to create a terrifyingly malformed, half-living monstrosity that could barely be looked upon. However, when they mustered the courage to do so....
It looked back.
The entire staff was thrilled (except for the janitor, since the lab was probably a mess after the experiment), and the scientist was probably promoted to head of the laboratory, and called his creation the First Super Skullcat, the herald of many more to come. With the Skullcat as their first attraction, and with the basic blueprint to make more Super Animals, our "beloved" company started to build their almighty zoo on the island where the testing had been done. However, there was one small problem the head scientist failed to mention to his superiors. There was a specific gem that, to my eyes, seems all but crucial to the creation of more Super Animals. And it could only be found on that island. This... was a problem, especially when you remembered that he needed to make more Super Animals; lots. So, he decided to use the small bit he had left to make several different species, more suited to physical labor than entertaining guests. The Super Fox, Bear, and the basic Super Skullcat, which we all know and love. The scientists also made Super Dogs and Mini Super Animals, to appeal to children. Within a month, Superite, the all-important gemstone that was needed for the creation to succeed, was pouring in, and the Super Animals were pouring out. And as this was happening, the head Scientist began climbing the corporate ladder, until eventually he became Chief Technical Officer. Now, however, he no longer cared about his creations, and began treating them as slaves, making them sleep in kennels and even jail cells if they misbehaved. There was, however, one thing he failed to account for. The Super Animals were not just humanoid in appearance. They had mutated beyond anybody's calculations, had developed speech and societies, and even began to learn how to use weaponry. This all went on in secret, but by the time that secret had come to light, it was far too late. The Super Animal Super Rebellion had formed, and now, they were willing to die for the freedom of their fellow animals.
The Super Animal World War
Once the Company had realized what was going on, they were furious that the CTO had pulled the wool over their eyes. They now had an uprising of super-powered animals going on, and needed somebody to blame. Our supposed protagonist, however, had not gained his title through dumb luck. He was as crafty as he was brilliant, and proposed a quick solution to their problem. "Make more Super Animals to deal with our problem," he suggested. It seemed viable, but mass-producing Super animals to kill ones they already had would not be easy--or cheap. With his backup plan in hand, he also laid out his idea to solve the majority of their problems. By evacuating humans off the island. At first, his idea was met with fear, concern, and hostility. But obviously, that was only step one. They'd continue producing Super Animals, and turn them into Gladiators, making them fight to the death, killing any rebellion members they found along the way. Naturally, the security animals would be potential collateral, but this had become a war, and casualties were guaranteed. With SAW Island as their coliseum, they'd make millions off of Super Animal Royale, as marketing had dubbed it, and also lull the animals into a false sense of self-sufficiency. However, there was one problem: if all humans had left the island, who'd make more Super Animals? And the obvious solution was that Super Animals would make more. With the CRISPR machine in the lab on the island, obviously. Anyway, a Golden Labrador by the name of Dr. Dogna was selected to head the recreation of Super Animals. Now, with their chessboard set to play, and Dogna as their queen, they began to dominate. However, their opponents hadn't survived in the Superite mines without picking up a thing or two. They had their own Lab Lab, a name given to the Labradors running the CRISPR machines. The armies were set, and the battle had begun. While the S.A.S.R. fought their overlords, and forced to fight their brethren in an attempt to free their people, and the Super Animal Royale razed the island and lined the Company's pockets, a community began to develop. In spite of the chaos, in spite of the constant sound of gunfire and pained screams/howls/hisses/animal noises, art was developed. Cameraderie. The Super Animals still continued to develop things like music, innovation, and even a rather disturbing religion. All while their lives were used to entertain humanity. Oh, yeah, and the First Super Skullcat is still alive to this day. Some Super Animals have even met him on camera. With all these developments, it was beginning to look more and more like Super Animals would win their freedom. But, obviously, the Company, or more specifically, the CTO, had a failsafe. A bacterial strain that would turn any Super Animal into a groaning, undead chicken, hunting down their former allies. With the Cluckles in hand (that name was from marketing, too), the Company seemed unstoppable. However, they hesitated to use it. If they let it run rampant across the island, they'd lose their SAR games, and all the income it made. So, they decided to ration it. It would be applied only when the conflict grew out of hand, to beat the S.A.S.R. back down to square one. This brutal tactic not only helped with the ongoing war, but also made sure some Super Animals survived and continued to fight in their games. Things looked bleak. Not even the supposedly smooth tunes of Blue Jay-Z was enough to keep everybody in high, or at least medium spirits. It looked like the Company would win. And then...
The Ending
I'm.. genuinely unsure of where the story goes from here, since we've caught up to the present, so I'm just gonna have to wait for Super Animal World to come out before I can go any further than this. I hoped you enjoyed reading my take on SAR's lore and history. I know I left out a few important characters, but this is still technically a work in progress, and as I said, this is my first attempt at a lore explanation. If you did enjoy my half-baked booklet that I spent a day and a half making and want to see me continue this once Super Animal World comes out and I can actually search for bits of lore info without fear of choking on Super Skunk gas or taking a Dartfly to the chest, please like and favorite the guide, it really helps support the guide and it also keeps you informed of when I do update it. Anyway, hope you enjoyed my guide, feel free to comment anything you think I got wrong or missed (or that I slightly covered but actually turns out to be essential to the plot of the story), and with that, have a nice day!
