Starting Situation & First Steps
Game Setup

You face 2 Emirs, a Wazir, Nizar and Caliph with 60k gold & 12 spawners while you have 21k gold.

Immediately hit Pause and set the game speed to 10. You need to take several precautions right from the start, you'll just get overrun otherwise.

  • Place your granary, mercenary post, armoury, barracks and an engineers guild.
  • Place a second gatehouse behind the one next to your keep, also add drawbridges on both of them.
  • Delete the houses and place them elsewhere, I placed mine alongside the wall from the defense turret towards point F.
  • Recruit 3 engineers and build a trebuchet at point A add 20 stones and attack the european archer spawner of Emir Sapehr.
  • Buy in 50 bows.
  • Set the gather point for assassins somewhere between your moat and Emir Omar and recruit 40-50 of them.
  • Set gather points for archers, crossbowmen and arabian archers on your keep and recruit a lot of them as soon as you have recruited the assassins.
  • Delete Defense Turret D and replace it with a Square Tower.
  • Place two Square Towers at B and one at C, E and F (buy in stone).
  • Put ballistae on every square tower and man them with engineers.
Killing Emir Omar & Nizar and slave waves
It's important to still have the gamespeed at 10-20!

Buy in 25 Maces and Leather Armour. Recruit the macemen and send them towards Nizar's keep. Use your arrow volley to clean his keep of archers. Once Nizar is dead, use the macemen to destroy the spawner of Emir Sapehr to the right of Nizar's ruins.

Send your assassins to Emir's keep, going alongside the map's edge. This will save you some time as they aren't likely to climb his walls. Use your arrow volley ability to kill his archers and horse archers. Once he falls, retreat your assassins to the small patch of green land below his ruins. You'll need them to destroy the spawners above Emir's castle later.

Recuit more archers (both European and Arabian) as by now, the spawners on the top left should have spawned enough slaves that dozens of them will rush your moat, supported by lots of archers from above you. If you have enough of them on towers A-D as well as your double gatehouse and the keep, the moat should stay relatively untouched. Just in case, buy in 10 Pikes and Armour to have the Pikemen fix any holes in the moat.

Setting up a working economy
Having secured these two kills, you'll have earned a little bit of gold to help you push onwards.

To have a steady income of gold and happy peasants you'll need to set up a small economy.
  • Place 4-5 quarries with an adequate number of ox tethers.
  • Place 5-6 iron mines.
  • Place a mill and 10 bakeries.
  • Place fletchers and set them to crossbow production.
  • Place 3 inns and 3 breweries.
  • Place an armourer and a blacksmith
  • Place 3 more houses.
  • Place 2 stables.
Set your rations to +4 with autotrader selling every bread above 50 units, as soon as the inns are working you can set your taxes to -12.

Use Nizar's farmland to place wheat farms and woodcutters there.

In the beginning, keep an eye on your wood, wheat and hops levels and buy in some more once they run out. Sell excess stone and iron, buy in leather armour to recruit more crossbowmen.

This was my castle economy setup.
Growing your Army & finishing off the enemies
Still remember the assassins you left near Emir Omar's castle?

Well, once the spawner units rush towards your castle, clear the remaining troops either with arrow volleys or with your assassins. Destroy the 3 spawners and retreat.

The Wazir and Emir Sapehr will send many horse archers towards your castle, mainly in the area of the towers A-C so be sure to replace any casualties there. You can also use the heal ability, it'll also heal your ballistae! Emir and Caliph will send out catapults on a regular basis, use your ballistae to destroy them before they can do too much damage.

Start recruiting your own horse archers and swordmen on top of all the archers and crossbowmen needed for your defense.

Save up your ability meter for the stone volley and destroy the slave spawners one after another.

Once you have around 150 horse archers and 40 swordmen, you can march towards Emir Sapehr. Use the arrow volley ability to damage his archers, this ways it'll be easier for your horse archers to finish them off. Break his walls and kill Emir Sapehr.

Meanwhile, recruit some more horse archers to fill up any losses. Move on up towards Wazir, clear his archers and fire ballistae before killing him off.

Same procedure with the Caliph.

Victory!
It took me 15 in game years to beat this mission this way.

I hope my guide helped you beat this mission, I've tried many times, saved many times and tried different things out before finally being able to beat it.
