Author's Notes
- I did not directly transcribe what the in-game entries say. I have simplified them and/or added details where needed.

- Note that some of the in-game entries are wrong as of 2025-09-27, and I have noted which entries are wrong and what they got wrong.

- If I have things wrong or if anything needs expansion, let me know and I'll modify my post. Wouldn't be surprised if I've got mistakes myself in here.
General Tips
- When starting a new session via ENTER COURSE, look at which PAs have yellow speech bubbles on them. What that means is NPCs at these PAs have conversations that are either about the game's plot, or they've got hints about how to race wanderers. The wanderer's requirement will be noted in the REFERENCE menu once you've done this. So it's a good idea to go around to all the PAs and talk to all the yellow speech bubble NPCs until they quit spawning.

This is easy to do once you've got the 'Valet Service' perk, which lets you fast travel between PAs. You can find that perk in the Perk tab on the far right, in the far right tree that starts with the "Tune Cost Lv.1" perk.

- Also on the ENTER COURSE menu, make good use of the RIVAL tab to quickly find which wanderers are on the course, and where they are. If there's a P next to their name, that means they're in a PA.

You can also open this menu while on the course. The Menu button on the Xbox controller is the default button for opening this screen.

- A lot of wanderers require you to hit a certain stat to challenge them. You can easily look up each applicable stat by going back to the garage, going to the GARAGE tab, and then looking under JOURNAL. Your total wins, highest win combo, defeated rivals, defeated teams, total mileage, and total CP stats are here. The COLLECTION list will also cover how many cars you own.

- For many wanderers, they won't appear instantly once you've satisfied their requirement. Most of the time you will need to go back to the garage and then back out onto the highway again before they spawn.

- For wanderers that require consecutive wins, it's acceptable to get them by racing regular traffic cars or the same racer over and over again. Feel free to cheese those wins however you want. Get 35+ consecutive wins and you'll have enough to challenge every wanderer with this requirement type.

- For wanderers that require mileage, you will need a lifetime mileage of 3000km+ (1865mi+) to challenge every wanderer with this kind of requirement. To grind mileage fast, first disable the Additional Rules on the GARAGE tab in the garage, since otherwise oil and water temperature will force you to constantly slow down. Next, go into the course, starting at the Daikoku PA in the southwest corner of the map, drive all the way up the Wangan to the Hakozaki PA on the north end of the map, then turn around and head back south to Daikoku PA to do it again.

- Alternatively for mileage, you can set your car to auto-pilot and cruise AFK, but this will take a long time since your car travels at about 59-60 km/h when in auto-pilot.

- Many wanderers only require you to equip a certain cosmetic item to race them. So if you keep your main car equipped with these items at all times, you can race all of these wanderers when they show up:

Neon (COMEDIC DISRUPTOR)
Aero parts (UNBALANCED ISHII, CRAFTSMAN MANABE)
Custom color (SNOW DANCER)
Leopard print vinyl (STRONGEST MAAMIN)
20+ vinyls (SOMETHING FUN)
<DESIRE> sticker (CHIC SPRINT)
<INFINITY> sticker (MR. N-TSUKA)
Aura (TORTOISESHELL MASK)

- For wanderers where you need to change your car's license plate, go into COLLECTION on the garage, pick the car you want to drive, then hit LICENSE PLATE to change it. If you can't read Japanese, definitely take a screenshot of the Kanji from the reference list, as the Kanji is untranslated in the license plate menu. I have included screenshots of each location name in the guide, however.

- When you encounter DARK NIGHT'S BETELGEUSE for the first time, I HIGHLY advise defeating them not once, but five times. There's a specific wanderer that requires you to do this, but DARK NIGHT'S BETELGEUSE rarely spawns on the course after their initial defeat.
Mandatory Cars for Wanderers
To defeat every wanderer in the game, you will need every car on this list. There is one wanderer that will only race each specific model. Fortunately though, for any wanderers that need a specific engine type/drivetrain/aspiration/etc. this list will also cover all of them too, so no need to worry about getting any extra cars beyond this.

- DAIHATSU COPEN Cero (LA400K) '15
- HONDA CIVIC TYPE R (FL5) '22
- MAZDA RX-7 Type RZ (FD3S) '00
- MITSUBISHI (any car)
- NISSAN 180SX TYPE X w/ SUPER HICAS (KRPS13) '96
- NISSAN FAIRLADY 240Z (HS30S) '71
- NISSAN FAIRLADY Z Version (Z33) '05
- NISSAN FAIRLADY Z Version ST (RZ34) '24
- SUZUKI ALTO WORKS (HA36S) '15
- TOYOTA bB Z X Version (NCP31) '03
- TOYOTA GR YARIS RZ (GXPA16)' 20
- TOYOTA MARK X 350RDS (GRX133) '16

Note for each wanderer that only races a specific model, you CANNOT use a customized boss/wanderer variant of the same car. For wanderers that only race stock cars, you can't use customized boss/wanderer cars for them either.

Other Car Advice
- While some of the mandatory cars for Wanderers aren't worth using otherwise, DON'T sell them when you're done using them. If you decide to do NEW GAME + later, you'll be glad you kept them when you need to race those same wanderers again.

- For your first playthrough, I highly recommend getting the NISSAN GT-R Premium edition (R35) '17 as soon as possible. Until you unlock engine swaps, it's arguably the best regular car in the game with its high base stats, and it's engine power can be tuned up to 1,185 PS. It's also very useful for defeating certain wanderers, like ones that only race stock vehicles or won't let you equip nitrous.

- As to why to get the R35 '17 specifically instead of the '14 or '24: The '14 has slightly less power, and the '24's tuning settings can't be adjusted

- The Lexus LFA is also another great endgame pick, although it has the disadvantage of not being able to equip many visual mods (custom colors, vinyls, stickers, aero, aura) meaning there's quite a few wanderers you can't race with it. However it is the strongest NA (naturally aspirated) car in the game, which makes it useful for racing GOD EAR.

- For wanderers that won't let you use nitrous, an endgame Customized Car is also very useful for them, like Unrivaled Emperor's R34 GTR. Doesn't have nitrous, but frankly doesn't need it either.

W-043 - MR. N-TSUKA - Equip <INFINITY> sticker or vinyl (in-game entry erroneously says to NOT equip that sticker).

W-044 - FIRE LEGEND - Own 15+ cars. Use NISSAN FAIRLADY 240Z (HS30S) '71.

Note that DARK NIGHT'S BETELGEUSE only rarely respawns after their initial defeat, so if you are trying to find them late in the game, you may have to go out onto the course multiple days before they appear.

W-050 - HYDRO DRIFT NINJA - Equip Shiga license plate.

That a great addition, but I do wonder if the info would be obsolete as players joined late and the Guest Wanderer DLC will be off-sale

Since we're starting to get new wanderers via DLC, I've added a new section for them. Enjoy :)

Hey nailstrafer, would you mind updating the Bayshore Sheriff (W-063) information?

Please add that he only appears after defeating Impatient Princess (W-021) and the previously informed rivals on the PA.

This might help people that are running the NG+.

Thanks buddy!
nailstrafer  [author] 20 Oct @ 7:47am
You sure about CHIC SPRINT? IIRC on my last playthrough, they wouldn't race me until I put on the <DESIRE> sticker.

Anyway guys thanks for the corrections, I've been making updates over time as you make comments.
Tacun 20 Oct @ 1:25am
Can confirm that CHIC SPRINT does not need the team <DESIRE> sticker or vinyl. Also noted that it's CHIC SPRINT in-game and not CHIC SPIRIT. Thanks for the guide!

One Bridge Sergeant only required your car to be lowered, not to the lowest settings.
Unknown Inkling 16 Oct @ 8:26am
Wanderers may spawn randomly so its based off luck, Roulette Guy V3’s rumor is always in Daikoku PA, just get a tad bit lucky with the talks. Not too sure about Lonely Wolf as I have not seen him in NG+ progress yet as for Chic Spirit, u have to get lucky with DNB’s spawn
naattee 15 Oct @ 2:01pm
Hey there. For roulette guy V3 I think it's a Daikoku parking area only information (no one has confirmed or denied it as I was trying to verify it for my guide) and for chic spirt have you defeated DARK NIGHT'S BETELGEUSE 5 times? Cause that's one of 2 chic spirt requirements. (I think the vyinl can be equipped after battling 5 times but I could be wrong)
