These achievements are tied to story progression and world completion. None of them are missable — you can return to any world after the final boss and finish what you skipped.

The Adventure Begins – Unlock the first Grand Tome (Tribalstack Tropics).



Open Books – Unlock all five Grand Tomes by spending Pagies.

👊 Bosses
Boss fights aren’t mandatory to finish the game, but they’re tied to several achievements. Some appear only after expanding the world, so don’t worry if they don’t show up right away.

💡 Tips:
• You don’t need to rush these — worlds can be revisited anytime.
• Some bosses are hidden behind side quests or world expansions — revisit later if you missed them.
• Bringing more moves from Trowzer can make some fights much easier.
• You can fight them in any order as long as their world is unlocked and expanded.

🌀 Moves (Trowzer)
Learning new moves is essential for accessing hidden areas, solving puzzles, and fighting bosses.

• 🏆 Sssserpent Ssssenpai – Buy your first move from Trowzer (costs Quills).



• 🏆 Sssmashing – Purchase all of Trowzer’s moves. He appears in each world and in the hub, so be sure to talk to him everywhere.



💡 Tip: You’ll need around 490 Quills total to buy every move — so grab Quills as you go, don’t leave them for last!

🧪 Tonics (Vendi)
Tonics are passive upgrades that boost your abilities. They’re optional but very helpful — some make exploration faster, others improve combat.

• 🏆 Bottoms Up – Unlock your first Tonic and equip it.



• 🏆 Potion Commotion – Unlock 15 Tonics total. Most unlock naturally as you progress and complete challenges.



💡 Tip: Don’t forget to equip a Tonic after unlocking it — that’s required for the achievement to pop.

🦑 Transformations (Dr. Puzz)
Each world has a Mollycool collectible that lets Dr. Puzz transform you into a new form. These transformations help you solve puzzles and reach collectibles you can’t get otherwise.

• 🏆 Squid’s In – Transform for the first time by giving a Mollycool to Dr. Puzz.



💡 Tip: Each transformation is unique to its world. Even though there’s no achievement for doing all of them, you’ll need them for Pagies, Quills, and Ghost Writers.

These achievements are tied to optional side content scattered throughout the worlds. None of them are missable, but they’re worth doing for 100% completion — and they’re a fun break from the main story!

Classic minecart rides packed with jumps, traps, and crystals to collect. Timing and memorizing the track layout is key.

Each world hides a Play Token you need to activate Rextro’s retro arcade machines. These mini-games are fun extras, and a few achievements are tied to them.

At certain points in Hivory Towers, you’ll be stopped by Dr. Quack’s quiz show. These quizzes test how much you’ve noticed about the game so far.

• 🏆 Quackers – Successfully complete one of Dr. Quack’s quizzes.

• The questions are randomized, but they pull from what you’ve already encountered — signs, characters, and events.
• If you fail, don’t worry — you can retry as many times as you like.

These achievements are the heart of Yooka-Laylee — collecting everything is what 100% runs are all about. None of these are missable, and you can revisit any world after the final boss to clean up what you missed.

📖 Pagies – The Core of Progress
Pagies unlock new worlds and expansions, so you’ll naturally collect many of them as you play. There are 145 Pagies total: 25 per world + 20 in Hivory Towers.

• 🏆 Turning a Pagie – Collect your first Pagie.



• 🏆 Pagie Rampagie – Reach 30 Pagies (you’ll earn this during the story).



• 🏆 The Agie of Pagie – Reach 75 Pagies.



• 🏆 From Someone Else’s Book – Collect all 145 Pagies.



💡 Tips:
• Some Pagies require specific moves or transformations — revisit worlds once you’ve unlocked everything.
• Expansion unlocks more Pagies in each world, so don’t try to complete them all on your first visit.
• Hivory Towers also contains a few Pagies — don’t forget to check the hub areas thoroughly.

✒️ Quills – Currency for Moves
Quills are the main currency used to buy new moves from Trowzer. There are 1,010 total across the game.

• 🏆 License to Quill – Collect 200 Quills.



• 🏆 Fits the Quill – Collect 500 Quills.



• 🏆 Had One’s Quill – Collect all 1,010 Quills.



💡 Tips:
• Always collect Quills when you see them — you’ll need almost 500 for all Trowzer’s moves.
• Some are tucked away in corners or hidden on high ledges — new moves like Flappy Flight help a lot for cleanup.

🦋 Extenders – More Health & Power
Extenders boost your health (Butterfly) or energy (Power) bar. There’s 1 of each per world and Hivory Towers.

• 🏆 Raising the Bar – Find all Health (Butterfly) Extenders.

• 🏆 Petty Vandalism – In Hivory Towers’ first main hall, climb up the huge golden statue of Capital B and use Buddy Slam on its nose. This spot is also where one of the Power Extenders is hidden — so you’ll unlock two things at once here: the achievement and a permanent energy upgrade.

• Most are in hidden corners or high places that require new moves.
• Some are locked behind puzzles — explore carefully once you’ve expanded the world.

👻 Ghost Writers – The Hidden Collectibles
Each world has 5 Ghost Writers — they’re required for 100% completion and each type behaves differently:

• 🏆 Book Spook – Collect your first Ghost Writer.



• 🏆 Grabbed the Ghouls – Collect all Ghost Writers.



💡 Tips:
• Yellow – Just pick it up.
• Red – Defeat in battle.
• Green – Chase it down.
• Blue – Invisible, listen for the sound.
• Pink – Feed it butterflies.

Pirate Treasures are the rarest collectibles in Yooka-Laylee. There’s 1 hidden in each world (5 total), and they’re completely optional — but required if you want the 100% completion achievement.

They’re usually tucked away in well-hidden spots, often requiring multiple moves or clever exploration. None of them are missable, and you can always return later to grab them.
