When you install the game and try to start it on modern systems, there is a chance that you will get a ''DirectX 8.1 Error Fix''

How to fix
There are two ways of fixing it:
One:
Right click on the game in Steam and go to browse files.
Now Delete dbghelp.dll

Two:
Check your options.ini file in C:\Users\username\Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data and make sure the resolution is set to whatever your native computer resolution is.
For me, its 1920 x 1080 so beside resolution i have 1920 1080.

It's as easy as that and you are ready to play.
