Welcome, adventurers! If you’ve joined the Moskyrim experience, you’re already halfway to glory. But before you start slaying dragons, let’s make sure your mods are properly configured.

Moskyrim is a curated mod collection for Skyrim Special Edition designed to work seamlessly with Skyrim Together Reborn. This guide will walk you through everything you need to install, configure, and enjoy the game with friends.

REQUIREMENTS TO PLAY TOGETHER:

☑️ same Skyrim SE version (1.6.X)
☑️ same mods (incl. UI Fix)
☑️ same versions & load order

🛠️ Skyrim Special Edition on Steam automatically updates to VERSION 1.6.X

✅ This is the version we’ll be using — ALL MODS MUST BE COMPATIBLE WITH SKYRIM SE 1.6.X

❗IMPORTANT: DO NOT ENABLE ANNIVERSARY EDITION CONTENT
Even if you own the Anniversary Edition Upgrade on Steam, do not enable the Creation Club content. Moskyrim is designed for a clean Skyrim Special Edition install (version 1.6.1170) without AE content.

🧨 Enabling AE content will:

Break compatibility with several mods
Cause crashes or desync in multiplayer
Introduce scripts and assets not expected by the collection

✅ To disable AE content:

In Steam → Library → Skyrim SE → Properties → DLC tab → Uncheck “Anniversary Upgrade” (If it is not listed or unchecked, you are fine).

All players must have the same game version, same mods, and same load order. AE content introduces differences that will break the shared experience.

❌ Do NOT install outdated mods or random collections. They will break your game.

💥 EVERYONE PLAYING TOGETHER MUST HAVE THE EXACT SAME MODS AND LOAD ORDER 💥

Install Skyrim Special Edition from Steam (NOT Anniversary Edition):

Choose a clean install path (e.g. C:\Games\SkyrimSE).
Launch the game once and play until you exit the Helgen cave (after the dragon attack).
📌 This generates critical config files (plugins.txt, loadorder.txt, saves/, INI configs).

✅ Once you exit the cave, save your game and you can quit.

Install and launch it. Vortex will auto-detect Skyrim SE. From now on, all mods will be installed through Vortex.

🔧 Associate Skyrim SE with Vortex

In Vortex, go to the Games tab
Search for Skyrim Special Edition
Click Manage to associate the game
Skyrim SE should now appear as Managed in your dashboard

☑️ This step is essential — if the game is not managed, mods won’t install or deploy correctly.

From now on, all mods will be installed through Vortex.

📥 HOW TO INSTALL IN VORTEX

- Open the link above in your browser
- Click ADD TO VORTEX (you must be logged into Nexus Mods)
- In Vortex, go to the Collections tab
- Click INSTALL and wait for all mods to download

Once installed, click SORT + DEPLOY

🔍 Check if the essential files are already installed. Before installing anything, verify that the following files are correctly placed:

SKSE64: Should be in your Skyrim root folder (Skyrim Special Edition\skse64_loader.exe)
Address Library: Should be installed via Vortex or manually in Data\
SkyrimTogetherReborn: Should be inside Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SkyrimTogetherReborn\

📄 MANUAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (SKSE64 + SKYRIM TOGETHER REBORN)

1. Installing SKSE64
Download the SKSE64 version that matches your Skyrim SE version.
Extract the ZIP file.

Copy to the game root folder (where SkyrimSE.exe is located):

skse64_loader.exe
The .dll file for your version (e.g. skse64_1_6_1170.dll).
Note: skse64_steam_loader.dll is no longer included in recent versions, that’s normal.
Copy the Scripts folder from the ZIP into the game’s Data folder.
If a Scripts folder already exists, choose to merge/overwrite.

2. Installing Skyrim Together Reborn

Download the latest version of Skyrim Together Reborn from Nexus Mods.
Extract the ZIP file.

Inside you will find:
SkyrimTogether.esp (loose file).
Folders: meshes, scripts, SkyrimTogetherReborn, SkyrimTogetherRebornBehaviours.
Copy the extracted content as follows:

Game root folder: open the SkyrimTogetherReborn folder and copy all its contents (including SkyrimTogether.exe) directly into the root, at the same level as SkyrimSE.exe.
Data folder: place SkyrimTogether.esp, meshes, scripts, SkyrimTogetherRebornBehaviours.
If Windows asks to replace files, select Yes to all.

3. Verification

In the root folder you should see together:

SkyrimSE.exe
skse64_loader.exe
SkyrimTogether.exe

In the Data folder you should see:

SkyrimTogether.esp
Folders scripts
meshes
SkyrimTogetherRebornBehaviours (merged with existing ones).

In Vortex, the plugin SkyrimTogether.esp should appear.

When launching the game from SkyrimTogether.exe, the SKSE version should be displayed in the top-left corner of the main menu.

Once installed, click SORT + DEPLOY

The mod **Alternate Start – Live Another Life** is included in the Moskyrim collection and allows players to skip the Helgen intro and begin from various alternate locations.

**Multiplayer Compatibility Notes**

- All players must have the mod installed and enabled.
- Everyone must choose the same starting option at the Mara statue.
- Recommended: Save your game immediately after spawning and use that save to connect.


✅ Safe starting options:

- “I am a patron at an inn”
- “I arrived by ship”
- “I own property in one of the holds”
- “I am camping in the woods”
- “I am a new member of a guild” (if all choose the same guild)

⚠️ Avoid these:

- Jailed starts
- Random locations
- Necromancer/Vampire starts (can cause desync)

🧭 NOTE: If you want to play the vanilla Helgen intro (dragon attack and cave escape), you must choose the “Start your life” → “I want to escape this cell” option at the Mara statue.
This preserves the original intro sequence and is required if you plan to follow the default Helgen path.

⚠️ All players must choose this same option to avoid desync.

If Vortex asks which mod should load first, here’s what you should do:

✅ Skyland AIO vs Realistic Water Two
Choose: Realistic Water Two should load after Skyland AIO

Why: Realistic Water Two contains more refined water textures and effects. Loading it after Skyland ensures it overwrites Skyland’s water textures, giving better visuals.

✅ Skyland AIO vs Blended Roads – Medieval Bridges
Choose: Blended Roads – Medieval Bridges should load after Skyland AIO

Why: This mod retextures roads and bridges. Loading it after Skyland ensures its bridge and road textures take priority, avoiding visual conflicts.

✅ Skyland AIO vs A Quality World Map
Choose: A Quality World Map should load after Skyland AIO

Why: This mod affects the map interface and road visuals. Loading it after Skyland ensures the map enhancements are visible and not overwritten.

💡 How to do this in Vortex

When Vortex shows a conflict, select:

“Mod X wins” → Choose the one that should load after.
Or manually set the load order in the Plugins tab.

After resolving all conflicts:

Click “Sort” to organize your plugins. Then click “Deploy” to apply the changes.

✅ Double-check your load order:

Go to the Plugins tab

Make sure the mods listed above are below Skyland AIO

This confirms they will overwrite Skyland’s textures where needed.

🧠 Pro Tip

Vortex’s suggestions are usually smart, but you can always:

Accept the recommendation
Then verify manually in the Plugins tab to ensure the order matches what’s needed.

Once your game is properly configured and launched via Skyrim Together:

Load your save (must be after exiting Helgen cave)
Press F2 to open the Skyrim Together menu
If F2 doesn’t work, try Fn + F2 or Right Ctrl
Enter the IP address and port provided by the server admin
Example: 123.456.789.000:10578
Click Connect
Wait a few seconds — you should now be in the shared world!

🧪 Alternative Method
If the F2 menu doesn’t open, press F3 to access the debug menu and connect manually.

⚠️ Everyone must have exited Helgen and saved their game before connecting. Desync or crashes may occur if players are in different stages of the intro.
