A complete guide to the Starlit Cave Encyclopedia on your journey to earn your S ranks, treats to boost your health and stamina, 'handsome rewards', and make your gathering sessions as fruitful as possible! Most things are just a matter of time to complete while others require a more keen eye and mastering the mechanics of the game.

I hope with this will attract more people to this adorable I have loved since early-access! It deserves some attention. I have already written the guide for Green Forest, Cloud Meadow, and with the full release of this game, have gotten to make one for the the third area!

~ Collect without hitting its head a second time
Climb the tree above where the subject roams, wait atop one of the large spiky fruits until the subject is below. Interact with the fruit so it falls on them with Z, then quickly descend with the ‘shift’ key next to it. Player will land on the already dizzied subject, breaking their shell

~ Collect without using Witch’s Pickaxe
Basically the same thing as the first goal (it took me a bit to realize that Player can land on the subject first, then bonk them with the pickaxe but I figured out the other method first)
~ Draw unique objects with a quill
Unique subject has shell on their lower body as well as on their head, rather than the common subject having a bare stomach. Barely noticeable, especially around tall grass

~ Collect without riding the bubble cloud even once
Either be very very stubborn and swift to pick up and throw the bat over and over, or use the second goal. It counts for both!

~ Collect when it’s transparent
When the subject goes invisible, they will leave behind a trail of sparkles in the direction they’re going, and they will only reappear a few steps away between points
~ Collect when it twinkles
Collect while the subject is visible and bright!
~ Draw unique objects with a quill
Unique subject’s white line around their bottom is much thicker and more frilly, moderately noticeable

Research Topic
~ Collect after waking it up with a tool
Swipe the sleeping subject with the net to wake them up when the ‘?’ appears above their head, then switch to gloves as they run off. It’s more polite to ask for a game of chase first!
~ Collect within 15 seconds after becoming transparent
Have some decent sprint and follow the cyan pawprints, they’ll eventually give up like the furball rat if you keep up with them
~ Draw unique objects with a quill
Unique subject has three-tails rather than the common’s singular tail, barely noticeable (until you catch them with their silly butt pointing upwards)

Day/Night - Produces Jelly Shell’s Shell

~ Immobilize 2 or more at a time
Use the Cast the heat potion into the middle of the pool where all the Jellies can gather, they’ll become zen like marshmallows and be ready to strike with the pickaxe!
~ Collect using the appropriate potion

~ Draw unique objects with a quill
Unique subject is a sleepy blue instead of shiny yellow, highly noticeable (record them before fussing with the vents or using the heat potion, if they have become zen marshmallows, you cannot document individual subjects)

Day/Night - Produces Fort Rat
Tool/Potion: Gloves and Net/NA

Research Topic
~ Successfully collect by throwing the nest slowly
Scare the subject into their hanging nest, then go to the stake in the wall it is hanging from. Hold until half way (holding/filling up the dial will sent the hide too far away / not holding long enough will not release the hide from the stake) Aim for one of the nearby platforms and have your net ready!
~ Draw unique objects with a quill
Unique subject sports yellow glowing antennae and a band around their wings, as well as purple eyes and a blue face, though their overall body is the same deep purple. Highly noticeable.

~ Collect within 2 attempts
Self explanatory, requires good timing on the digging minigame (try not to focus on the action prompt, just the dial since it shakes less, no need to rush, subject will not buck the player off)
~ Collect using the appropriate potion
The Bulk Up Potion (bigger yield, no shaky ride)
~ Draw unique objects with a quill
Unique subjects, when mostly buried, will have very faint pink hues near the base of the leaves poking out. Barely noticeable. (though after you harvest the fruit, the creature will be revealed to be bright pink instead of earthy blue)

~ Use Fast Descend to collect
After clicking and holding onto the subject with Z, use fast decent by also holding shift, to pull the orb out of them!
~ Use Parkour to collect
After clicking and holding onto the subject with Z, hold the spacebar to move away quickly (parkour) and pull the orb out!
~ Draw unique objects with a quill
Unique subject will have an uneven, lumpy orb rather than a single smooth round shape, moderately noticeable.

The glowing blue blossoms the subject flies around, upon touching, will dowse the player in glowing pollen. Swim along a path and get the subject to show a ‘<3’ symbol, so they will follow you to shore where you can catch them with a net
~ Draw unique objects with a quill
Unique subject sports a little halo of blue over their head, such a small thing makes differences difficult to notice

Research Topic
~ Collect the entire group with 5 or fewer pickaxe hits
When one of the divers pop up they’ll be having a cheeky smile, and they spawn a dollop of slime rather than their horns, don’t swing on those, only when they have a normal derpy face.

Unique subject has a crest of four crystals rather than three (will also have a chunkier face), barely noticeable, but it will likely only be ⅓ of the trio, not all of them.

Unique subject sports more vivid/lighter colored ears (even though they're not sharp shape-wise) rather than the common variation whose ears match the rest of their face, barely noticeable

~ Collect both seeds
Several seeds don’t count, but brighter yellow (or blue for unique subject) will come out faster, then the last one very slow, keep your eye out for them (be sure not to spam-swipe the net or you may fling the seeds away)
~ Draw unique objects with a quill
Unique subject will have faint blue and yellow outline on its translucent petals instead of the grayish/colorless, and the seeds will be blue instead of yellow

Research Topic
~ Collect 3 in one go
Surrounding one platform are three different roots. It doesn’t matter which one you pick first, but while touching it, pay attention to the others. The one that wiggles should be interacted with next, or you won’t get all three roots to pop up on the platform, maybe only 2 or 1, you have limited time
~ Collect make no mistake when using the trowel
Doesn’t have to have all three roots exposed, but still be exceptional at minigame
~ Draw unique objects with a quill
Unique subject will present the root tops with crescent moon shapes instead of stars. Their roots are also much more vivid with pink, blue, and purple galaxy colors rather then dark, starry night colors/patterns

~ Overturn 2 within 10s(econds)
Swim back and forth against one duckweed until it flips over, then dash to another to flip it over. Don’t collect them right away to save on time.

Unique subject has an autumn-y orange/brown base with golden details on top, while the common subject is almost completely purple with faintly blue leaf edges

Moon Brilliance seems to have been updated: unique subject has a yellow body.
Shooting Starflower is purple instead of silvery.
Both are much more noticeable now.

AshersCake.
You won't be able to find the those things until you get to the bottom of the Starlit Caves/find the star that fell (They'll talk about it, trust me) The puzzle at the bottom of the rockwall where you can find fort rats/dream orbs/buoyancy herbs is tightly locked up with the ringing bell barriers, and then a platform you have to figure out how to lift (no spoilers). Then you'll get a cut sceen and be in the area they hand out in :) Don't give up, you can do it!

Kulcipher- Don't worry about the ' ! ' and burrowing away thing, that doesn't count as alerting them. Try not to swing and miss, take your time, charge your pickaxe, and don't stress.
They're alerted when you take too many pop ups to hit all three. The picture in the book where they're looking directly up with their tongue out is the alert. Don't worry too much

The Encyclopedia also has a research topic for Soil Divers about collecting the whole group without alerting any of them... Which I have no idea how to do
