Shooting Starflower is purple instead of silvery.
Both are much more noticeable now.

You won't be able to find the those things until you get to the bottom of the Starlit Caves/find the star that fell (They'll talk about it, trust me) The puzzle at the bottom of the rockwall where you can find fort rats/dream orbs/buoyancy herbs is tightly locked up with the ringing bell barriers, and then a platform you have to figure out how to lift (no spoilers). Then you'll get a cut sceen and be in the area they hand out in :) Don't give up, you can do it!
They're alerted when you take too many pop ups to hit all three. The picture in the book where they're looking directly up with their tongue out is the alert. Don't worry too much
