It seems they changed the cap during development. Not sure why, because it is not really needed. Maybe just to give some players some extra goals to chase. Thanks for the info, I will correct the guides.
I found this out while faffing about with Cheat Engine to increase my character's exp, but it should be noted I did so only to boost my character's level from 51 to 57; therefore, I grinded (ground?) levels 58-61 "legally". I don't know how high this may go, or if this is even intended at all, but I think I ought to let you know. Granted, I acknowledge that this is also so high a level that the extra skill points may not really matter to any build past this point, and so it may well be only "prestige" in practice similar to the level 90-100 range in most Pokemon and FF games.
I haven't tried the Priest yet, but I have quickly checked it. It has an incredible damage potential, but not until you reach level 30 and get Sword of Sirian. Until then, you will probably have to rely on gear to get some extra damage. From my experience with other classes, the Priest seems to work best going all-in with Air Mastery and yellow mana. Focus on Air Mastery to be able to gather high amounts of yellow mana, capture a Giant Spider to use its Web spell to stun enemies, purchase a Holy Lance to get some extra skull damage and Runic Helm, Cloak and Banner for some extra healing and mana generation. That will give you everything you need to deal with your enemies. That is more or less what I have been trying with the Bard, and it has gone from a really slow and painful to play class to a fast, strong and (for now) unbeatable hero.
You see, I don't know why I was evaluating it as if it was "deal damage equal to half of enemy's green mana". I have corrected my rating, as you said Trample is without a doubt a premium direct damage spell, a true 5/5. Lots of potential damage for a low cost, a must for any class focusing on Earth Mastery.
Thank you very much for the correction!
