In this guide, I'll be compiling a few QoL improvements, especially since I had to go digging for this stuff since it wasn't already made into a guide, so here ya go.

Disabling Film Grain
WINDOWS

  1. /!\ Make sure the game is closed!!!
  2. On your keyboard, press Win+R, or the "Windows" key and the "R" key. This should bring up a small window labeled "Run".
  3. In the text field conveniently located next to Open, copy and paste the following command and hit enter ->

    %LOCALAPPDATA%

    Alternatively, you can navigate to C:\Users\yourcomputersname\AppData\Local\OPP\Saved\Config\WindowsClient in your preferred file browser

  4. Locate and open Engine.ini.
  5. At the very bottom of the text document, create a new line or two by pressing the "Enter" key one or two times.
  6. Copy and paste your required text at the very bottom of the document... ->


    If you DON'T have [SystemSettings]

    [SystemSettings]
    r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0
    r.Tonemapper.Quality=0

    If you DO have [SystemSettings]

    r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0
    r.Tonemapper.Quality=0

  7. You can now save and close the document

You are now done!


Steam Deck and possibly Linux as a whole

  1. Switch to Desktop Mode
  2. /!\ Make sure the game is closed if you already are in Desktop Mode!!!
  3. Open your file browser of choice (Dolphin is the default for those new to the Steam Deck)
  4. Navigate to... ->

    Home/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1304930/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/OPP/Saved/Config/WindowsClient/

  5. Locate and open Engine.ini.
  6. At the very bottom of the text document, create a new line or two by pressing the "Enter" key one or two times.
  7. Copy and paste your required text at the very bottom of the document... ->


    If you DON'T have [SystemSettings]

    [SystemSettings]
    r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0
    r.Tonemapper.Quality=0

    If you DO have [SystemSettings]

    r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0
    r.Tonemapper.Quality=0

  8. You can now save and close the document

And with that, you have successfully removed film grain! :)
Disabling Depth of Field (DoF)
WINDOWS

  1. /!\ Make sure the game is closed!!!
  2. On your keyboard, press Win+R, or the "Windows" key and the "R" key. This should bring up a small window labeled "Run".
  3. In the text field conveniently located next to Open, copy and paste the following command and hit enter ->

    %LOCALAPPDATA%

    Alternatively, you can navigate to C:\Users\yourcomputersname\AppData\Local\OPP\Saved\Config\WindowsClient in your preferred file browser

  4. Locate and open Engine.ini.
  5. At the very bottom of the text document, create a new line or two by pressing the "Enter" key one or two times.
  6. Copy and paste this at the very bottom of the document... ->


    If you DON'T have [SystemSettings]

    [SystemSettings]
    r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0

    If you DO have [SystemSettings]

    r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0

    To re-enable, replace the 0 with a 1

  7. You can now save and close the document

You are now done!

And with that, you have successfully removed depth of field! :)
Disabling Lens flare
WINDOWS

  1. /!\ Make sure the game is closed!!!
  2. On your keyboard, press Win+R, or the "Windows" key and the "R" key. This should bring up a small window labeled "Run".
  3. In the text field conveniently located next to Open, copy and paste the following command and hit enter ->

  4. Locate and open Engine.ini.
  5. At the very bottom of the text document, create a new line or two by pressing the "Enter" key one or two times.

Disabling Chromatic Aberration

  3. In the text field conveniently located next to Open, copy and paste the following command and hit enter ->

Disabling Vignette

  3. In the text field conveniently located next to Open, copy and paste the following command and hit enter ->

  4. Locate and open Engine.ini.

Altering your FOV (Field of view)

  2. On your keyboard, press Win+R, or the "Windows" key and the "R" key. This should bring up a small window labeled "Run".
  3. In the text field conveniently located next to Open, copy and paste the following command and hit enter ->

    %LOCALAPPDATA%

    Alternatively, you can navigate to C:\Users\yourcomputersname\AppData\Local\OPP\Saved\Config\WindowsClient in your preferred file browser

  4. Locate and open Game.ini.
  5. At the very bottom of the text document, create a new line or two by pressing the "Enter" key one or two times.
  6. Copy and paste your required text at the very bottom of the document... ->


    If you DON'T have [/script/opp.rbsettings_gameplay]

    [/script/opp.rbsettings_gameplay]
    DefaultFOV=$$$.000000
    AimingFOV=$$$.000000

    If you DO have [/script/opp.rbsettings_gameplay]

    DefaultFOV=$$$.000000
    AimingFOV=$$$.000000


  7. Change the "$$$" to your desired amount (by default, this is 90)
  8. You can now save and close the document

You are now done!

And with that, you have successfully altered your FOV! :)
Skip intro videos
  1. Navigate to <installation path>\OPP\Content\Movies
    Alternatively, you can right-click on The Outlast Trials in your Steam library and click "Browse local files". This is universal between Windows and Linux.
  2. Delete or rename RedBarrelsLogo.bk2 and TOT_ThirdParty.bk2

And with that, you should have successfully removed the intro to jump in faster :)
