For those who are struggling on how to play N64 games, sadly, this is how RetroArch set up the controller settings for N64.

Playing N64 games with a Playstation and XBOX controller.
Personally, I don't know why RetroArch did this, this is so stupid and doesn't make any sense. Plus, RetroArch clearly doesn't understand that they did make N64 controllers and that RetroArch doesn't know how to setup the "C" buttons so you have to do the following...

If you are using a standard Playstation or XBOX controller, believe it or not, all you have to do is use the Right analog stick to represent the "C" button directions. This is very stupid in my opinion, because how are you supposed to play fighting games this way? There's no possible way to play fighting or some actions games this way without realizing you have to press a "C" button direction using the analog stick direction. So if you have been having an issue with playing N64 games, this is the reason why.

Now, for those of you that want to configure a USB N64 style controller, you will have to set it up differently. What you will have to do is configure the "C" buttons with the "Right-Analog" stick settings. (Example, Right-Analog "UP" for "C Button - UP", etc.) This is why I am so confused why RetroArch designed the controller setup this way.

I have a "Buffalo" USB PC controller. It's essentially a Playstation style controller, but instead of 4 buttons on the front, it has 6 buttons, 3 buttons on top row, 3 buttons on bottom row, similar to the Sega Saturn controller setup, but with L1, L2, R1, R2 buttons, dual analog controls, and 4 extra buttons for misc. configurations, such as "START" and "SELECT" or even use a "HOME" button if I plan to play PS3 games.

I made this info for people who are N64 fans and are either struggling or need to know what is going on with the controller setup.

They exist, I actually have one. It's what I was explaining with the "Buffalo" controller. 6 button controller with 4 shoulders, dual analog, and 4 extra buttons for misc.

Still waiting for someone to make a controller with six face buttons and four shoulder buttons.
