Basically, this guide is mostly relevant to people with laptops/intel gpu that are getting a popup every time they open SFM telling them their pc isn't good enough for a software from 2012, and therefore blocking some core features. Without them, SFM looks all washed out and ugly, although they most likely are able to run SFM smoothly.
If you haven't experienced any problems like this (see the "before" picture), then SFM is running as it should and there's no use in following this guide.
