Fix the uncomfortable grips by using SteamVR's controller rebinding tool.
By Hawkity
By using SteamVR controller rebinding, you can replicate the hybrid grips method seen in the newer PSVR2's PS5 games, which makes holding the grip button way more comfortable for a long period of time

Overview
If you played the RE8/RE4 VR mode on the PS5 or any other newer PSVR2 game, you'll be familiar with the hybrid grip method that is being used, in which as long as you press the grip button once and have your finger touching the button, then the controller will still register the button being gripped.

This makes the the atrocious grip buttons way more comfortable to use and also makes throwing virtual objects more precise and easier.
Tutorial
In this example, I'll be using Contractors VR.
1. Go into the SteamVR controller rebind menu for your specific game
2. Go all the way down until your reach the L1 or R1 button
3. If you see "Use as trigger", then click on it and change it to "button", otherwise skip this step if you see "button"
4. After you change into a button or if it's already a button, then click the edit or pencil icon and go into the settings menu via the cog wheel
5. Once your in the settings menu, enable the "Keep button pressed as long as it's touched" option.
6. Repeat the process for the other grip button.
7. Congratulations now you have hybrid grips in your game!

Make sure to upload your new controller preset into workshop and name it "Hybrid Grips" so others don't have to go through this process
Notes
This method should work for like 90% of games, however some games like Ruinsmagus don't work as I couldn't get it to recognize the changes that I made in SteamVR's rebind menu.
