In memory of those who perished from diagonal pogo
By How disgusting
Do you have 100k hours playtime in the first game, and your muscle memory does not allow you to use the new diagonal pogo without flying into the spikes 12 times out of 10? I have a solution just for you!
Almost at the very beginning of the game. Almost without spoilers.

I NEED MONEY
At the first village we will find this gal

She sells simple key for HOW MUCH?!
well... this is the only way (In almost 15 hour i never find another one) so go find some, idk
WHERE SHOULD I GO?!
As soon as we bought the key we need to get here (as soon as you enter the gray zone and unlock the door, run somewhere up and then to the left and it should work)

From here you can go down and unlock the elevator so you don't have to drag yourself back up to the top (bless you, Shrimp Jaisus, if you don't listen to me), and then from the starting point jump to the left and see a couple of bugs and a hanging cage.
Ironic!
To solve the problem with diagonal pogo we need to do diagonal pogo on bugs twice in a row (or use dash, but a lot of people go not the way to have it by the time they start suffering from red flowers)

We wait until the mosquito that flies around the cage rises, jump on it onto the cage, jump off it and approaching the next bug we hit it too... Congratulations, you are magnificent!

(I compressed the gif as best I could, Steam has size limits for everything, sorry)

It took me 10-15 tries when i did it first time, so good luck
The calm part
To the left of the cages and beetles is a passage leading to a straight corridor. There is nothing interesting for us here, we just continue along it
It was all just for you
Here we will see a closed door (I have already passed this place, so both the door and the hatch above are open, but MSPaint fixes everything)

The key goes in the door (yeah)
If everyone liked it so much, why didn't they make a second part?
The difficult part begins. The location is confusing, and you won't have a map, but I have one, so I'm sharing. We follow the yellow brick road and try not to get scared or lost, we're almost there
Just a little bit more
Hooray, greenery again, we're almost there, you can walk around here, but it's better not to and just jump down somewhere.

There's a door below.
Open it
If you don't open it, even Shrimp Jaisus won't help.

Then go left
Grave robbing.jpeg
There will be a building like this. Mine is closed, yours will be open, because I've already passed it and you haven't (yeah).

We climb inside. We run. We jump. We knock. We find the THING. The thing either equips itself right away, or you have to equip it, I don't remember.........
Congratulations! Your problem is solved. You can go and silk this song, or what this game is about, I didn't pay attention :Р
..
The main goal of the guide is to show where to go without going into as much detail as possible, so that those who haven't been spoiled yet can get as authentic an impression as possible. That's why I don't show screenshots of the brown location itself, just a map with an approximate route, and that's why I call the "thing" a "thing" and not what it is. I hope we understand each other. I bet there are more detailed guides for those who are not afraid of spoilers.

just use wander to get the knights down slash or do it the hard way
Camelat 10 Sep @ 6:58am
you can also just get the reaper crest which only requires that you do like 1/4th of the game and doesn't necessitate grinding for rosaries

JennicaSolo, this is weird. If by "particular green place" you meant the place with the mossy corpse and the spitting pilgrim, once you leave the brown zone and start seeing the map of Bones Bottom again it's literally two steps to the right of the entrance to the room. And the door is two jumps down, and the building is as far to the left of the door as possible.

I had it through yellow brick road, but can't find that particular green place.....

I've also found that getting almost unnecessarily close to my target helps. Then you can increase the distance away as you get more used to it. (and then cry and scream as you go and hollow knight again T^T)

If you absolutely must have the Hollow Knight pogo, sure, go get Wanderer, but to everyone else, GO GET REAPER! IT WILL HELP YOU GET GOOD! It's an in-between! Not diagonal, but a downward swipe with downward movement. It'll help you get used to how the new pogo moves and you'll be able to try out new styles easier!
