By Vloäin
Tired of getting hit? This guide will help you put on the best gear to confuse your opponents' bullets.
The intention of this guide is simple, to explore the impact of clothing from an interesting and specific perspective which is purely for the sake of pragmatism. Nothing you like should be sacrificed for winning. This is not a promotion, but an exploration.
This guide is a work-in-progress and will be probably updated every two weekly updates, leave any suggestions below so I’ll know your thoughts about this guide!

Introduction
This guide is divided into seven sections designed to help you master The Finals fashion.

1. Why do your clothes matter
2. Utilitarian principles of dressing
3. Protect your head
4. Using wings or capes to deceive your opponents
5. This game has no second pair of pants
6. Recommended outfits
7. Clothes you shouldn't wear
Why do your clothes matter
Why do enemies always seem to hit you? Why do their bullets never go astray?
The problem might lie in your outfit.

In The Finals, we all know that hitboxes are always consistent. However, character outlines are drawn along the outer edges of your appearance. This means that your fashion choices could become the deciding factor between life and death.

We compared two distinct styles:

One that minimizes fabric use—even going as far as choosing no hair;

And another that embraces the most extravagant outfits in the game.

Our data shows that the perceived outline area visible to enemies can increase by more than 69.36% depending on your attire.

As you can see, a well-chosen outfit adds a lot of "empty space" to your character outline. This makes it difficult for opponents to distinguish your true body from the visual noise, causing them to waste their shots on what they think is you.

With a standard outfit, opponents can easily land hits on you, as the image demonstrates.
Utilitarian principles of dressing
At this point, you should realize that wearing less is not the key.
Instead, you need to dress as bulky as possible, arming your body with the most extravagant outfits available. Here are some core principles:

  • 1. Headgear should not be too tall; otherwise, it will give away your position and create a disadvantage.

  • 2. Avoid nearly spherical helmets when viewed from the front, since enemies can easily predict the exact center of your head from any angle.

  • 3. The main idea of headgear is to make it difficult for opponents to pinpoint your true head position. For example, the TV head: from the side, its uneven left and right “false areas” make it harder for enemies to guess where your real head is.

  • 4. For clothing and pants, go for bulky designs with large, flowing fabric strips. For the upper body, wings are generally the superior option.

  • 5. Use waist accessories with caution—they can easily clip through walls and reveal your location.

  • 6. For bow users, overly bulky sleeves may obstruct your vision. Opt for more fitted sleeves combined with wings instead.

If you follow these principles when selecting your gear, you will disorient your enemies and evade their attacks.

Protecting your head
In this chapter, I will recommend some headgear based on the principles mentioned earlier. They are all characterized by a low profile, irregular shape, and a center that is difficult to predict from certain angles.

1. Max Viewing (From season 2 bp)

2. Corrugatosaurus (Can be bought with 600 multibucks)

3. Glacier Gazer (From DLC Permafang Prowler Set)
Using wings and capes to deceive opponents
Wings are generally more effective than capes.
In close-range firefights, when you perform rapid lateral movements, scoped-in opponents often relax their aim due to the misleading outline created by your wings, causing them to miss a significant number of shots.

Capes, on the other hand, usually show their deceptive power only during jumps or when dropping from high ground. At those moments, your silhouette temporarily loses its humanoid shape, creating a brief window of confusion for your enemies.

Wings
All wings are useable, just to make sure it fits your overall color tone.

Capes
The longer the better.
Flavor Extinct Top (From s5 bp)

Corsarion Top (From DLC Wavereaver Set)

Kosode (From s3 bp)
This game has no second pair of pants
Yep, there's only one pair of pants I recommend.
Arch Rival Skirt (From s3 bp)
Recommended outfits
So there you are, this is the outfits I'm currently using, Share yours in the comment!
The Ultimate Trash Bag Set

Headwear: Max Viewing (From s2 bp)
Upper Body: Panicproof Vest (From s6 bp)
Lower Body: Arch Rival Skirt (From s3 bp)
Upper Back: Skyward Grace (From s1 bp)
Outfits you shouldn't wear
Clearly, there are some clothes which you shouldn't wear in-game, for one simple reason: they make you extremely visible in darkness or smoke.
CNS Code Breaker and CNS Sync Slacks (Rewards in s2 contracts)

CNS Script-Shirt (Probably a reward in s2 contracts)

Emulator Puffer and Discontinuity Pants (From s2 bp)

Thank You
Thanks for reading and leave a like if this is new to you, that means a lot to me. A huge shoutout to my friend xiaogeaidajio, who helped me take some of the screenshots.

@De Druppel I also think so, what satisfies you is the best.

The idea of this is really interesting! I don't know how meaningful this really is in practice, but it is REALLY cool as a theory.

anyone that's half decent at the game will still blast your shit to hell lmfao, dressing up as a dork to avoid getting hit is useless. dress as what you think looks cool.
