What To Do If Your Safehouse Resets
By Sprunk and 1 collaborators
If your safehouse suddenly resets, or if chunks in your world are resetting, check these settings:

A) Change some sever settings
Host -> Manage Settings -> Sandbox -> Loot Rarity
  • Loot Respawn = None
  • Seen Hours Prevent Loot Respawn = 0
  • Item Removal List = None
Advanced Zombie Options
  • Respawn Hours = 0 (disables respawning)
  • Respawn Unseen Hours = 0
  • Respawn Multiplier = 0
  • Redistribute Hours = 0
B) If that doesn't work, check your server folder
Go to "C:\Users\<YourUsername>\Zomboid\Server\servertest.ini" and paste in this:
# --- WORLD PERSISTENCE SETTINGS --- HoursForWorldItemRemoval = -1 HoursForLootRespawn = -1 LootRespawn = 0 ResetUnseenHours = 0 ZombieRespawn = 0 # (Optional) Prevent zombies from migrating between cells RespawnHours = 0 RespawnUnseenHours = 0 RespawnMultiplier = 0.0 RedistributeHours = 0
C) If this happens again, it could be a mod conflict
Every forum ever seems to go with this one first, which is silly. But it's possible if there is a corrupted mod, and an item spawns or is dropped in a chunk, that the chunk will reset once it saves (when you leave it). Make sure all ur mods are up to date and working, pretty much. Or that you have all the dependencies, cause zomboid is super cool and makes you do it yourself.
D) Ensure your system drive (where the user folder is) has enough storage
If it is out of storage, the game will ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Ouroboros itself, and start saving chunks as null every time you leave them. Cool, right?

Possible solutions
  1. Right click on Zomboid -> properties -> launch options
    Add this to the box:
    -cachedir=[your/path]
  2. Move your zomboid folder in /user to a new desired place
    Run in cmd as admin:
    mklink /J "C:\Users\[username]\Zomboid" "D:\[your/path]"
