Complete Expedition Leader’s Guide.
By Vas
As usual, being hit with 75 Expedition Mode challenges is enough to crush anyone’s motivation. They’re confusing and not even designed in an efficient way. If this guide works as it should, you’ll get through them in less than a week.

Introduction
.
For the purposes of this guide, an irrelevant quest is any quest that can be completed by finishing another, more important quest.

For example, quest 24 is about winning the “Birdwatching” Mission, which contains 3 challenges and is played with the Hunter, while quest 28 is about completing 3 challenges with the Hunter. So, quest 24 completes both at once and makes quest 28 irrelevant.
(In this definition we’ll ignore that Mission 75 is “complete all the previous 74,” because technically speaking that would make this guide much faster to finish.)

Out of the 75 quests, 38 are irrelevant. That means our job is to find the fastest way to finish the 37 that actually matter. To do that, I decided to split Expedition Mode into 3 phases:
  • Perk Phase
  • Challenge Phase
  • Cleanup Phase
Perk Phase
In this phase we’ll focus on unlocking the perks needed to start working on the other quests.

Your first priority is to complete the Hunter’s "Birdwatching" mission. This will unlock the perk "Vulture Mask".
Your next priorities are "Friend of Nature" mission for the perk "Karma Flower", and then "Scavenger Hunt" for the perk "Electric Spear". The last two aren’t as important, but once you’ve cleared Birdwatching, anything that helps you reach level 10 is valuable.

Once you’ve reached level 10 (or while you’re on your way there), complete 2 expeditions with Rivulet to unlock its Speed perk. Only then should you go for the "Culinary Tour" mission to unlock the "Crafting" perk.

Crafting, Vulture Mask, and Rivulet’s Speed are all we need for the next phase. Still, at this point I recommend checking out Quest 54 to unlock the "Explosive Jump" perk. Personally, I didn’t need it, but getting to level 10 and securing 4 wins with Artificer is pretty manageable by this point.

Challenge Phase
This is the fun part. In this phase, our priority is to accumulate completed expeditions, completed challenges, and hidden challenges.

We divide this into parts.

  1. Each Slugcat has 2 quests that are identical for each of them; these are "Complete an expedition with 3 challenges using X Slugcat" and "Complete an expedition with X Slugcat having a hidden challenge" (In this case, you would have already done expeditions of 3 challenges with Gourmand, Monk, and Hunter).
  2. There are 4 burden missions "Complete an expedition with 3 challenges and X burden".
  3. You need to complete 10 hidden challenges.
  4. Finally, achieve 3 victories with the Hunter, 3 victories with the Saint, and 4 with Artificer if mission 54 mentioned in the previous phase was not completed.

The trick is to fulfill the maximum number of these requirements with the fewest expeditions.

To do this, we go into the challenge selection, set the difficulty to easy, and use the filter option to allow only Item Collecting challenges, preferably scavenger lanterns.

We add an extra challenge, which can be collection, hunting, or scoring—whatever is easiest and fastest for you. Finally, we add a third one and hide it, clicking it until the score is as low as possible, the lowest you can.(In this image the score is 48 since I play with Rivulet, but the value of the challenges is different with each slugcat. With Spearmaster the lowest score would be approximately 90)

Once the score is sufficiently low, we go to filters and enable only the cycle score option. Only one cycle score challenge can be active at a time, even if it is hidden. We add it, and if the challenge is not added, it means our hidden challenge is "Score 20 points killing creatures this cycle." On the other hand, if the cycle score challenge is added, it means our hidden challenge was not this one. We remove the 4th challenge and keep clicking the hidden challenge until the score is sufficiently low.

In this way, by choosing the perks of Vulture Lantern, Fabrication, Rivulet Speed, and Vulture Mask, you can complete expeditions of one or two cycles, with 3 challenges, 1 hidden, not very difficult if you add one or two burdens and easy to complete with all 8 slugcats.

You will repeat this 3 challenge + 1 hidden trick with all 8 slugcats. Once their specific missions are completed, you can repeat it with 2 challenges + 1 hidden to accumulate victories with Saint, Hunter, and Artificer. This phase should take roughly the same as the previous one; I estimate 4–5 hours but possibly longer.

Cleanup Phase
In this one we are going to dispatch the oddities we’ve been ignoring because they didn’t fit anywhere.
The previous one is easy, but this one is by far the most tedious in my opinion.
In Excel and in my notes I have it as "Travel Phase" and for good reason
...

Here there are clear and long objectives.
  • 20 Hunting Challenges
  • 10 Viewpoints
  • 7 Echoes
  • An Expedition with 5 challenges, 2 hidden ones, and 500 points

My particular tactic was to activate the filter only for Echo challenges and add challenges one by one until the Chimney Canopy Echo and the Shaded Citadel Echo came up,
then do the same adding two Vista Points from Chimney Canopy, Industrial Complex, or Shaded Citadel, and a hunting mission of any type of lizard or, God forgive me,
Lanter Mouses

Eventually the Echo challenges are finished, so the process continues with hunting and Vista Points.

Eventually the Vista Points are finished and the process continues with one or two full hunting expeditions.

For the mission with 5 challenges, 2 hidden ones, and 500 points I can only advise to make one challenge easily visible and keep the rest hidden;
once the easy challenge is completed, continue the expedition if the other challenges seem reasonable once revealed.

The last ones should come out on their own; I left the last missions of the Slugcats for the end, but in this phase the Survivor’s adds up.

Look into my eyes. These aren't mere tired bags, they're the marks of relentless focus. It's not emptiness, it's a testament to determination and the certainty that I Will Not Do This Again In My Life

It’s possible that I may have overlooked some details, or that some irrelevant mission remains incomplete. Please feel free to leave your experience in the comments box — English is not my strong suit, and I would gladly welcome any corrections to the guide.
