Intro & Quick Checklist
Welcome to the Overwatch 2 Competitive Optimization Guide (2025 Edition).
This isn’t fluff — it’s tested settings, network fixes, and training routines designed to lower your latency, boost FPS stability, and lock in consistent aim.

✅ Quick Apply Checklist

Fullscreen, max Hz, Reflex ON

FPS cap: 2–5 below refresh if VRR/V-Sync ON

Netgraph ON → check PPS ~63, ping stable

DPI 800 × sens for ~33 cm/360°

Crosshair: small, high contrast

Bufferbloat test → aim for A/A+

Daily 20-min warm-up routine

Pro Tip: Bookmark this guide and revisit after patches — new updates can change latency behavior.
Video & Graphics Settings (FPS + Latency)
Video Settings (OW2 → Options → Video)

Display Mode: Fullscreen

Refresh Rate: Monitor max (240/360/480 Hz)

Limit FPS: Custom, cap just below refresh if VRR/V-Sync ON

V-Sync: Off (On with cap only if tearing bothers you)

NVIDIA Reflex: On (Boost if GPU clocks fluctuate)

Triple Buffering: Off

Dynamic Render Scale: Off

Pro Tip: Stable frametimes matter more than peak FPS. Smooth 300 > jittery 500.
Network Optimization (Ping & Stability)
Test & Fix

Run the Waveform Bufferbloat Test

Goal: A/A+ grade under load.

If grade drops → enable SQM (CAKE/FQ-CoDel) on your router or enable Smart QoS.

OW2 server tickrate ~63 Hz (check with Netgraph).

Netgraph

Toggle: Ctrl + Shift + N

Watch: PPS, ping, loss %

Pro Tip: A perfect aim routine is useless if your upload chokes mid-fight. Fix bufferbloat first.
Sensitivity & Crosshair Setup
Sensitivity

DPI: 800 (pro standard)

eDPI target: ~30–36 cm/360° for most roles

Scoped sens multiplier: ~38% (Widow/Ana consistency)

Crosshair

Style: Small, static

Colors: Cyan/Green for high visibility. Switch to Magenta/White on green-heavy maps.

Pro Tip: Lock a sens for at least 2–4 weeks before tweaking. Consistency > “perfect number.”
Mouse, Polling & Gear
Polling rate: 1000 Hz baseline

8K Hz: Only if stable (tiny ms gain, but CPU/USB heavy)

Mousepad: Large, smooth surface with reliable stopping power

Pro Tip: If you notice micro-stutters at 8K Hz, drop back to 1K — stability > vanity.
Audio Setup (Hear Footsteps)
Enable Dolby Atmos for Headphones (in-game option)

Avoid stacking “virtual 7.1” from headset software

Dynamic Range: Headphones (default) or Studio Reference

Pro Tip: Sound whoring is real — footsteps tell you more than killfeed.
Aim Training Routine (Daily 20 min)
In-Game Bots (5–8 min)

Widow flicks vs strafing bots

Ana/Ashe tracking

Tracer recoil control

KovaaK’s (10–12 min)

1wall6targetsTE (flicks)

Smoothbot / Strafes (tracking)

Pokeball (dynamic clicking)

Aim Lab (optional 5 min)

Sixshot

Pro Tip: Keep sessions short but consistent — skill builds from quality reps, not 2-hour grinds.
Mindset & Health
Breaks: 30–60s every 20–40 min

Ergonomics: Neutral wrist, elbow ~90°, monitor centered

Mental Reset: Focus on win conditions, not just kills

Pro Tip: The fastest way to tilt is tunnel-visioning damage stats. Play smart, not just sharp.
