In this video, I’ll show you the proper way to cook food in Prologue: Go Wayback! (currently in open playtest). At first, I made the mistake of trying to manually drop food into the cooking pot on the stove—which was frustrating and unclear. Not only was it hard to target food correctly, but I also couldn’t tell if anything was actually cooking.

Turns out, I was doing it all wrong. The real cooking system is accessed by holding down the “E” key, which brings up a menu that makes the whole process much easier and more reliable. Even better—you can cook spoiled or rotten foods, like moldy apples, and turn them into something safe and edible. This trick is absolutely critical for survival and for making the most of every scrap of food you come across in the game.
