I saw this in a review, decided to try it and wanted to share it because it worked.

This issue has nothing to do with the graphics settings—it seems that way, as you need to restart the game to apply them—but it's actually a bug related to connecting to your Microsoft account. To resolve it, simply do the following:

1. Go to the Local folder in Appdata (press Windows + R, type %appdata% and click OK, go back one folder and go to Local).
2. Go to the "Coalition" folder.
3. Delete the "Wargame" folder.

The save file will also be deleted but Steam will download it back from the cloud once you start the game.

After completing the process and starting the game, choose not to connect with your Microsoft account, or the game will crash again. You don't need to connect to your Xbox acc to play multiplayer.


It's definitely not ideal, but it helps until they fix the issue.
