Unique Great People: Junkers (Prussia)

Beskrivning
Adds the Junker as a unique civilian units to Prussia, bringing 10 new Great People from its nobility. I did not like the Stuka as a unique unit for Prussia because it appeared well within the time of a unified Germany. Junkers fit the civ's military focus but also bring in a bit of a cultural spin, which works well e.g. when paired with Friedrich, Baroque.

Junker was the term for a Prussian noble, primarly owners of large estates east of the Elbe river, where they almost had a monopoly on arable land. Many served as officers and often this was the reason their family achieved noble status in the first place. In the early 20th century, many Junkers formed a reactionary force pushing back against democratizing developments in the state of Prussia and in unified Germany as a whole, ultimately contributing to the downfall of the Weimar Republic.

The individuals chosen here are meant to reflect the full range of this social class which included selfish aristocrats but also brave members of the resistance against the ♥♥♥♥ regime, within the military and beyond. In order to add the most interesting gameplay bonuses I could make as well as to improve representation, some creative liberties were taken regarding whether someone was a true Junker, but all individuals included were actual Prussian nobility.

Known Issues
  • The Junker units use a fallback model making them look like British aristocrats and have no portrait. This will be fixed once we get asset modding tools. The model is already fairly suitable though, I think.
  • The Junkers do not have their individual events yet. I will add these over time but making events is a lot of work and these only have a small chance of triggering anyway. I love the idea behind them though and want to invest a bit more time into making them excellent.
