Only use these saves after you have completed your achievement list. Using them before completion may result in achievements unlocking in an incorrect order.

This is a detailed step by step guide for downloading and installing the saves. If you are not fully sure what to do, please read all sections of this guide for how to install the saves correctly.

If you are Strong Independent Steam User™ and don't need no guide, go straight to the Download link section.

After unlocking all achievements you will be close to having a perfect save.

Your remaining objective is mine all gem veins and collect the blue orbs. This can be time consuming as you will need to explore every section of the map to obtain every gem and orb.

The second save file is evidence of achieving a 4-star run for the Master Prospector achievement. It cannot be perfected with the remaining time without sacrificing the 4-star rank.

You can save yourself a few hours time by using these saves.

This game save was completed without cheating, modification or save editing.

Save slot 1 - 100% with 3 stars maximum

Minor details

Defeating the boss in save file 2 will unlock the Master Prospector achievement. As warned earlier in the disclaimer, please ensure you have unlocked this achievement before using this file.

Unlocking it this way would be cheating.

Click the upper left box of the folder "SteamWorld Dig". Click download and choose option: "Download as a zip file". Once download is completed extract the folder contents.

The boxart is not required to download.

All following steps were done on Windows 10 Pro - 22H2.

Step 1 - Disable Steam Cloud

Open your Steam library and select SteamWorld Dig. Right click and choose Properties. In the General tab disable Steam Cloud by clicking the enable/disable button as shown in the example screenshot.

You will need to locate your folder containing the game save files.

The save data is usually found in this location:
C:\Users\USERACCOUNTNAMEHERE\Documents\My Games\SteamWorld Dig

Make a copy of the folder "SteamWorld Dig" and keep it in a safe location.

Inside the folder will be the file structure shown in the screenshot:

Now delete all contents of the folder named SteamWorld Dig.

Move downloaded files into the empty folder and start the game to use your new save.

This save has been tested on multiple users and with some encountering the same issues.

SteamWorld Dig will delete the contents of the folder preventing you using the the downloaded files.

To install correcly please follow the steps below:

Step 1 - Delete all contents of the folder named SteamWorld Dig
Step 2 - Start SteamWorld Dig and start a new game in slot 1.
Step 3 - Once you have spoken with Dorothy McCrank exit the game to the main menu.
Step 4 - Fully close the game.
Step 5 - Move all downloaded files into folder SteamWorld Dig and choose to Overwrite files.

Both slots should now be populated with the save files. The 100% save in slot 1 and the 4-star save in slot 2.

You can now use your saves.
