Nah I'd rather not do non-canon variants for now. It's no biggie anyways since I do plan to add the 4 in the update after this one (which I hope won't take as long to develop, the scope of that update won't be anywhere near as big as the one coming).

As for an ETA, still a bit hard to say (maybe a monthish or two?), life has been very busy for me, and I've mainly just been fitting in time on this where I can. I still have a couple major tasks to finish up that'll take a bit, unfortunately.
Ah, it's hard to read sarcasm lol. I'm fine with no 4 variation. As a suggestion you can do a substitute the 4 for the ATM's with cLRM 20's with Artemis. I run a 2 cERPPC + 2 cLRM20 with Artemis in MWO or keep it classic with 2 cLPL's instead. Could call it a RFL-IIC-4 A since PGI did similar non cannon variations for so many of their mechs.

Do we have an ETA for the release of your next update? Glad to see that progress has really picked up!

Well I was being sarcastic lol, I'm glad to add the 8! I wasn't aware that it was a Ghost Bear variant, I had assumed it was also made by the Jade Falcons (per MasterUnitList.info ), so I will keep that in mind, thanks!
I plan to add Rifleman IIC variants 1 thru 8 in the coming update, except for the 4 (it carries ATM launchers, which I don't have in the mod yet, I'll focus on those in the update after this one).
No the 8 being in the mod is fortunate because I'm a Ghost Bear loyalist lol. I wasn't sure with your techbase but my favorite variations are the Prime, 5 (Jade Falcon jumpjet sniper) and the 8. 8 is a pure brawler at heart with Hellbringer levels of speed. 10 is arguably the scariest version with 4 cERLL's, reflective armor and a targeting computer.

Whoa that is some thorough research, thanks! I need to take a look myself but I will probably be sticking to your suggestions for the most part.
The dish on the standard variant is meant to be the CGL version, which seems to mix of the redees and original I think?

Unfortunately for mod balance, the 8 is well within timeline, lol, so it will definitely be added (I shifted the timeline cutoff to 3100). It actually should be a welcome addition though. Currently in play tests, radar + long toms have been extremely powerful, so the more ECM units the better imo.
Variants 3 through 7 (and 8) should theoretically have the reseen radar dish since those are post Clan Invasion/Jihad era models since most of the clans were looking to upgrade their aging Rifleman IIC models. 3 has the cBAP again and 4 loses it. 5 doesn't have it but 6 gets it again. 8 is a monster with ECM but I don't think your mod gets into Dark Age era tech.

Judging by your screenshot it looks like you have the reseen radar dish on the Prime. If you want to follow a guide for the different tech bases of each variant here you go:

I see. If you are going to go through slight radar dish variations for the generations of Rifleman IIC here are my suggestions:

The Prime (1) and 2 should have the most circular radar dishes since they are the first generation Rifleman IIC models introduced in the Succession Wars up into the Clan Invasion. The models with the cBAP should have a smaller round circle probe similar to these examples:

Technically it should be slightly smaller than the Glass Spider's (Galahad) radar dish. Keep in mind that Variant 2 with the quad UAC2's does not sport a cBAP. PGI and CGL have antenna on the left side of the radar dish but it's up to you if you want to retain that feature. (cont.)

Glad you like it! I mostly worked off of CGL's design, but I do plan on adding some elements from some of the reseen versions for some of the later variants. Specifically I want to make the sensor dish vary a bit between variant.
The barrels are slightly skewed/slanted so that you can see all four guns. Not my favorite thing to do, but imo clarity for the player is worth it. It makes the arms look a little bigger from the top, which I felt was important for further distinguishing it from the Glass Spider.

Looks awesome! What was your inspiration for the design if I may ask? Are you going with CGL's model, PGI's model or a mix of other source material?

Also are the large pulse laser barrels slightly sideways for animation purposes or is that just the design of the top barrel? You did an awesome job and can't wait for the update 😁
