Intro and Tips
LOOKING FOR WHAT THE RATS WANT?
Check the ‘Streets Beneath’ section—you’ll find all the info there.

INCREASE SALES OF AN SPECIFIC ITEM
If you want to sell something in particular—whether to complete a goal with a vendor or clear stock—place it near the entrance. Customers usually walk in and, within a couple of steps, you can see what catches their attention even if it wasn’t on their shopping list, you can influence their choice.

For example, if you want to sell more apples, put them right by the door and you’ll see they become the top-selling item that day.

Where find Sheeps
Way Back Home
In this quest, Karl asks you to find all of his sheep scattered throughout the small county.

STORY-RELATED ACHIEVEMENTS
Blomkest beginnings
Complete your training at Discounty.
Everything's on sale, proudly!
Complete chapter 1.
It's a deal!
Unlock a trade deal.
The secret ingredient
This achievement is story-related and can’t be missed. Just place any item in your shop that would obviously taste bad with lemonade (e.g. Shampoo, Fish, etc.). You don’t need a full stack of 5—if you pick up too many, right-click to put some back. Then exit the shop and interact with Chester’s lemonade.

Where are we going?
Complete chapter 2.
That wasn't meant to happen
This achievement is story-related and can’t be missed. You’ll unlock it during a key event when the townsfolk gather to confront your shop. To be more specific, this takes place once you finish Chapter 2 of the game.

Discounty!
Finish the game.
For this achievement, you need to complete the game (all chapters), but don’t worry—even after finishing the main story, the game still offers side plots and unlockables, like customer events, the mystery of the shed, and other surprises.
SIDE ACHIEVEMENTS
Service with a smile
Complete a working day at Discounty getting only heart reactions from customers.
Targeted advertising
Have a total of 50% more customers coming from poster effects.
Can you pet the cat?
Attempt petting Ms. Andersen's cat.
To unlock this achievement, you need to go to granny Ms. Andersen’s house and interact with her “cat,” which you’ll find sitting on a cushion. You won’t be allowed to pet it, but once the dialogue ends, the achievement will unlock.

Traffic jam
Hold up traffic by standing in front of a car for an hour.
To unlock this achievement, stand in the middle of the road and block a car for 1 in-game hour. Keep an eye on the clock in the top-right, go AFK for a bit, and when you’re back the achievement will pop—along with a traffic jam.

Warning: Don’t try it after 8:00 — once the clock hits 9:15, you’ll be teleported back to the shop (unless it’s Sunday) and lose your progress.
The streets beneath
Find out what's going on with the rats.
Pay tribute to all the rats in Blomkest at each of their gathering spots. This achievement unlocks the sewers, which serve as fast-travel points around the city and make moving through town much easier.
This achievement is part of the VERMIN TIES QUEST. After discovering the rats around the city, you’ll need to figure out why the rats are acting strangely. By talking to the residents and visiting Ted’s recycling area, you’ll learn that he feeds them, which might help calm them down.

Once you unlock all the sewers shown below, the achievement will be displayed:

Now, your task is to speak with the residents as instructed and discover what each group of rats wants. Below are their locations and the items you need to offer at each spot:

First Spot - Hardware Store
To complete the first tribute to the rats:
  1. Unlock Karl’s second deal: the Sheep’s Cheese.

    ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤKARL
    ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤDEAL'S SHOP

  2. Buy a box of Sheep’s Cheese and place it in your shop wherever you like. Take a handful of 5 cheeses.
  3. Go to Ted’s hardware store in the recycling area where the rats gather, and place the cheese in the rats’ bowl.

Doing this will unlock your first passage from that area to others, making it easier to get around.

Second Spot - Harbor
At the docks, you’ll find another spot to pay tribute to the rats so they “stop bothering you.” Unlike the first time, here you won’t see a bowl to serve them food—instead, there’s a box you can interact with. When you do, the game will say: “Maybe I should ask someone around here what the rats would like.”

The answer is that you need to place a Dollhouse on the box as the offering.

You can buy it from Solruna at the antique shop for 25 shillings when it shows up in the catalog.

Shop

Doing this earns you the rats’ favor and unlocks a secret passage that connects the back of your shop with the docks. This shortcut is very handy for saving time when you need to buy from the fisherman or from Barbara.

Third Spot - Farm
To unlock the Farm Sewer, it’s important to progress in the story until you unlock the third deal with Karl, called The Potatoes.

You’ll only be able to see the plate once the pink fertilizer has been cleaned and you know the magic recipe to feed the rats, which consists of:
  • 1 apple 🍎
  • 1 rolled oat 🌾
  • 1 fishy stick 🐟
You can place them on the plate in any order, as long as all the ingredients are added.

Once you offer the food to the rats, you will unlock the farm sewer passage!

Fourth Spot – Tellar’s Home
To unlock this spot, you first need to interact with the rats under Tellar’s house, on the roadside sidewalk. Once you get close enough, a dialogue will appear asking you to talk to Tellar about the rats. She will tell you that they are strange rats and so on, but nothing really useful.

To unlock this spot, you will need a barrel of fish called “Fishy Waster”, which Barbara will give you as you progress through the story. You’ll also need to buy around 20–40 fish. Don’t worry if it hasn’t appeared yet—you probably just need to advance further in the story.

Barbara will give you 1 barrel for every pickle jar you buy, but you only need 1.

With the barrel in your quick access bar, return to the rats under Tellar’s house and place it on the box. This will unlock the sewer to Tellar’s Home.

Five Spot - Forest
Surprisingly, this spot isn’t about rats at all—it’s about a sheep. To unlock it, head to the abandoned factory south of the forest, located just below Tammy’s factory (you can spot it easily on the map).

When you approach it, a dialogue will pop up, wondering if this is another of Karl’s lost sheep. From here, you’ll need to talk to Karl to find out what to do next.

Karl will explain that this sheep often gets lost in the forest and falls asleep, and that children usually have a way of waking it up.

Here’s what you need to do:
  • Unlock the energy drink in Reward Points shop for 2 RP and buy a crate.
  • Place it in your shop.
  • Take out 5 units of the drink.
  • Return to the sheep in the forest and give the sheep some "energy" by having the energy drink in your quick access bar and left-clicking on the sheep.
Doing this will unlock the forest sewer.
Rags to riches
Make 1000 shills by recycling.
Let Guy get it
Place an order for Delivery Guy that fills up the entire truck.
To unlock, order as many products as you can through the computer. When the truck arrives, only take some items and repeat this a few times. Eventually, the truck will fill up and Bro will be slightly below the boxes, unlocking the achievement.

Scrub amok
Clean 10 messes in Discounty in one day.
Run the shop without cleaning until 11 stains appear (the game says 10, but there’s a bug that skips the 1st stain). Then, in a single day, use the bucket and sponge to clean them all. It helps to keep the bucket in an easy-to-reach spot.

Fully stocked
Unlock the 32 products available in the game to sell in your shop. Some unlock by default, like the first 5 (apple, paper, etc.), and the rest are unlocked through the computer, using the Discounty rewards program and deals with local vendors.

An apple a day
Sell 365 apples in Discounty
For this achievement you need to sell 365 apples, about 3 per 100 days; Tip -> the fastest way is to do it after finishing the game, replacing your entire shop with apples to sell 9 or more per day and unlock the achievement efficiently.

@Summerock To get rid of or sell any item, you need to go to the recycler located to the right of Ted’s hardware store. There you’ll find 4 bins you can interact with:
-One for plastics and polyethylene.
-Another for cardboard boxes, paper, or flyers.
-Below, you’ll see the other two: the one on the left is for furniture, coolers, and decorations.
-The one on the right is for anything else that doesn’t fit in the first three categories, such as products or quest items you no longer need or are asked to throw away.

How do you get rid of old fixtures?

replacing your entire shop with apples isn't that useful as they'll just wander around a bunch looking for missing items. i just put one set of every item out in the corner and put all the apples up front with the appeal stuff stacked on them. was clearing over 20 each day.

@Zamora Thank you for your quick response, but it’s not that it doesn’t let me interact — I do interact with the bar counter, the dialogue starts, and at the moment when my character says something like “I shouldn’t be listening to this conversation,” the dialogue won’t continue, and can't close it. I’ve tried three times and I end up having to restart the day in order to keep playing.

@Deskiziada if it’s bugged or not letting you interact with it, it’s probably because you haven’t progressed far enough in the story, or there’s another important quest involving it that’s currently active in your game. So don’t worry—just keep progressing with the rest, and eventually you’ll be able to interact with the bar! :greedyHeart:

@xiaolongbao_o to stack cardboard, you need to place it in the green machine located to the right of the computer. Once you stack 3 cardboard or polyethylene boxes, you’ll receive 1 compressed polyethylene/cardboard box. It’s recommended to take it to the recycler, located to the right of the hardware store, in exchange for money.

Has anyone else had a bug when trying to use Hilda’s bar counter?

does anyone know how to make cardboard stack? im stuck
Zamora  [author] 25 Aug @ 4:55pm
@Freakassee Not really. Sometimes if the shelf is in a corner and the customer happens to be standing just at the right pixel next to it, they might be able to grab it. But in the case of the apples in the picture—where the poster should go to boost them—there’s a pile of apple crates blocking the way, so it’s unreachable for both customers and Chester. That’s why it never goes beyond a stack of 5. Hopefully that info is useful somehow. The picture itself is mostly decorative for the achievement anyway, haha—I just wanted to fill the space so it wouldn’t look empty :steamhappy:.
