The large quantity of Burdened impact are just for killing the first few mobs until you find yourself a companion.

The Perk you'll need:

Rene wastes a LOT of resources, mostly because of the Engine On thing - The first time you make a chainsaw move, you'll use 2 extra fuel and every tuen you'll need to pay 1 fuel to keep the chainsaw on, all that not counting the move's resource cost. In summary, you'll have nothing left by the end of the 3rd encounter (unless you're the luckiest person ever).

This perk's also good on him because of the high starting HP.

The Item you'll need:

This thing might seem terrible at first...

"Why would I want to be infected at the start?"

But here's the catch, this thing can break the game completely or (if you're not that lucky) at least give you a significant boost. Just hold it for the moment.
First thing to do on the Run
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
...I mean, run away from any possible encounter until you find yourself a Nurse companion. That's the most urgent thing to do. But if you ever have any forced encounter, just try using Burdened Impact the most you can, so you won't need to waste HP or Fuel.

"There are no nurses in this hell, what do I do?"
If you can find yourself a mascot or a police officer, it's fine but you'll really need at least a single nurse so this can work out better.
Second thing to do on the Run
Grind Time

Exactly as the title says...
You'll have to grind till you get these two crucial moves

After getting them, use Darkness Remains and hopefully they'll be upgraded.

"But why do I need these moves for?"

If get your hands on any of these on the first section of the run, it'll be a walk in the park, but if you get both... You basically won the game already.

Wide Sweep will kill almost every mob before they can make any move (and the upgraded version is even better)
Momentum will give you infinite turns (specially if upgraded and you have more than one on the deck)

"They weren't upgraded after using Darkness Remains!"

After beating the first area, upgrade them on the area transition, and GG.
Character development
What to level up?

Hardiness all the way.
But if you feel encounters are getting too dangerous, for every 3 points in Hardiness, give it 1 point to Vitality.

Bonus
Bonus Moves

Get the following moves only after you have like... 3 upgraded copies of Momentum or Wide Sweep on your current deck

This one's for getting Momentum from the deck and giving yourself an infinite turn, so a little more important (you deserve it)

This one is just for protecting yourself from the boss (i forgot the name now) that equals your attibutes with everyone on the battle. Your damage will be kinda weak on this encounter, but if you have Clash of Saw on the deck, you'll still pack a punch. It's very situational, so it's not that important.
