Guide Prerequisites
So GINKA's Pretty old at this point so I'm not going to go crazy on the guide like I did my recent Futamata Renai OP/ED Fix, but i'm not going to make it hard to follow.

This will work across Linux Distributions regardless § requires light Terminal usage.

(Be sure to leave a Like(👍) - Guides are SUPER time-consuming)

Steam Deck / SteamOS

1. Steam

2. Desktop Mode

3. ProtonPlus - Custom Proton Manager[dl.flathub.org]

4. GE-Proton10-12: - The Script will automatically install this version -

......I'm debating this ↗️↗️↗️ - so for now just...

Use ProtonPlus to install GE-Proton10-12

5. Protontricks: - Click for Installer -[dl.flathub.org]

6. Sh Script for Auto-Installation: - - Click for Script -[raw.githubusercontent.com]

(Right Click the Page & "Save as")

6(a) Save the Script(codec.sh) to..

Steam Deck:
/home/deck/Downloads

Linux/Other:
$HOME/Downloads

$HOME - Assumes your home location regardless of (user)name, you can type this manually into the file browser and it will take you to /home/Username/Downloads.

7. Guide Requires Game to be installed on Internal Storage

- Estimated Guide Install: Average 2-6 minutes(+/-) | Hardware Dependent

Desktop Mode? - 1(a). You will need to know how to enter Desktop Mode & at the very least know how to open Steam & Use The File Explorer(Dolphin)

Why Internal Storage? 2(a) - It's not required, this is solely to streamline the tutorial and reduce how much I have to type I have to type. Adding an SD Card into the mix will add additional steps that may confuse some readers.. Follow-up at another time.
Step 1:
  • Open Protontricks

    - Select GINKA ----> Next Screen | Choose: "Select the Default Prefix"

  • Select the Following:

    Change Settings ---> "win11"

(This is going to be REALLY fast, Proceed to the Next Step)
Step 2
  • Select Run a Commandline Shell (for debugging)

  • Type the Following

    $HOME/Downloads/codec.sh wmp11 quartz2 lavfilters

(You will have to manually type this, copying & pasting isn't allowed in the debugging shell, so long as you place codec.sh in $HOME/Downloads it will recognize it.)

Press "Enter" - and the script will get to work. - And just like that...

We're Done!!
  • Fast Right? - The OP plays right after the Red Shrine at the start of GINKA.

This guide is in a semi-finished state, i'm debating enforcing initial-script installation, but other then that we're pretty much done.

It took me 1min of work to find the fix & 2hrs(+/-) to write the guide so..

  • if you found it helpful, it would be appreciated if you left a like on the guide.

b-fission is the goat - Creator of codec.sh(The Script we're using for pre-packaging)

There's another manual way to get the guide up & running without crediting others, but this was genuinely the path that saved me the most time(solution) & effort(Guide-Creation-Time).
