After the wars which established the Lakota as a renowned and saw the rise of names such as Sitting Bull, Red Cloud, and Crazy Horse, the time had come for peace. These negotiations, and the boom in trade which followed, called for a new chief to rise to the forefront - one which all looked at. It was Eagle Woman who accepted this mantle, ushering in a new era for the Lakota people as they faced a changing world and the growing presence of new empires.
