Black screen on modern Windows, game freezes after doing Alt+Tab

Solution

Use dxwrapper
You can get it on GitHub. Follow their instructions on how to install.
The stub you need is ddraw.dll
Change a setting in INI. Scroll down to Compatibility.

EnableDdrawWrapper = 1
