Save File Location

Save files are located in one of two directories, depending on your operating system.
You can modify them using a text editor like Notepad or VSCode.

Windows:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\LocalLow\Fangamer\OFF

Linux (thanks to Draconic NEO):

$HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/3339880/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/Fangamer/OFF/

Stats

Search the file for "characterID" and look at the "displayNameLocaleKey" below to see which character you're modifying. If you change a character's HP/CC, remember to also raise their maxHP/maxCc in the stats block.

Item IDs

Search the file for "inventory" and add/change an item ID from the list below.
Note that this isn't a complete list. You can keep going but it's mostly useless objective items like papers.

I went and found the proton location of the app save. It's located at "$HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/3339880/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/Fangamer/OFF/"

Awesome, I'm glad to see more guides on modding. Just to give some feedback, it might be a good idea to also include instructions for linux users since finding the save in compatdata might not be the most straightforward thing, and knowing where to look could alleviate a lot of the headaches associated.

Yeah, there's 1-2 IDs between each category without any data. If you add them to your inventory, it just breaks the menu.
