Texas (Mirabeau B. Lamar)

Adds the Republic of Texas, under its second President Mirabeau B. Lamar. Lamar made himself known in Texas after becoming a hero at the Battle of San Jacinto during the Texas Revolution. During his presidency, he is known for his attacks on the Native people living in Texas at the hands of the Texas Rangers. Most Texas natives, including the Comanche and Kiowa, were driven out of Texas or succumbed to battle. Lamar also paved the way for Texas Education, allocating thousands of acres of land for schooling; tried to get foreign countries to recognize Texas and its Rio Grande border; and funded the Second Texan Navy.
