AuroraEN Highlights
The AuroraEN Highlights is a weekly thread of the best and funniest things in Aurora for that week.

The Highlights are run by Carbender & ProphecyFrags and posted on fridays (Sometimes).

Highlights History
The Highlights orginaly started with a DarkRP Enforcer called Infinite, Infinite started The Highlights thinking they were a one time thing but little did he know people loved them. To this day the AuroraEN highlights bring joy to the AuroraEN community.
What is RP?
Roleplaying is essentially the bread and butter of the server. Roleplaying allows you to play as your character. Remember, there are still server rules and laws. Some terminology will be listed. Don't break rules!!!

NLR- Breaking it means that you kill someone that has killed you (also can be considered RDM). NLR means the New Life Rule, where you must forget what happened pre-mortem.
NLR Can also refer to you coming back to your death point before the timer is gone.

RDM-Random Deathmatch: Killing other people for no reason. Very self explanatory.

Prop Abuse: Climbing your props for advantage (propclimb), one way props (using props to see through, but raiders can't see you), Fading door abuse (one door after another to get you stuck, a fading door behind a real door)

Click here[auroraen.com] to view the full list of AuroraRP rules.

Printers
Using printers can be confusing sometimes, this is just a helpful tip for people who forget. Printers, albeit illegal, will give you lots of money if used correctly.

Destroying Printers

Destroying a printer as a government job will give you $5000 and 1200 experience per printer.

Upgrading Printers

Printers can be upgraded 4 levels from what you bought it, and has 3 catagories.

  • Cooling (How long it takes for the printer to overheat)
  • Storage (The total amount of money able to store in the printer)
  • Quantity (The amount of money per printing session made(WARNING:Will increase the speed of overheating!))

A fully upgraded printer costs roughly $60,000, so be sure you are going to stay there for a while.

Golden Printers

Used to be Prime member exclusive, you can buy a golden printer at level 25. These printers output a ton more money than the normal ones, and never overheat, but they cost more to buy and upgrade.

Other information about printers

  • You cannot store printers in your inventory
  • Stunsticks work the best for destroying printers
  • If you do not turn off printers, they will explode, some faster than others.
Cars
A big part of Aurora Roleplay is cars. They help players get around town much faster than walking. There are many different cars availible.
Cars can be driven around using the WASD and you can also switch between first-person and third person by pressing Ctrl. You can also on/off the headlights by pressing F.

Government Cars

Government Jobs can have access to two free patrol cars in the garage of the PD. They have sirens, fliashy lights, and can go moderatley fast.

Adder

The Adder is an expensive car at $10,000,000, and is one of the fastest.

Camper

The Camper is a moderatley priced vehicle at $500,000. It is the biggest vehicle, and can plow through others without getting so much as scratched.

Futo

The Futo is a cheap race car, at $50,000. It is a fast vehicle, but very weak.

Gauntlet

The Gauntlet is a muscle car, and costs $500,000. It is pretty fast, and has a decent amount of endurance.

Rebel

The rebel is not a car, but a truck! For 2,500,000, you can go up stairs, destroy other vehicles, and transport items in the back!

Turismo R

The Turismo is the most expensive car at $50,000,000. It is the fastest and most stylish car in the garage.

Auto Mechanic

If you ever break your car, you can call an Auto Mechanic to fix it. The mechanic lots of experience repairing cars, but CANNOT repair his own.
Medic
A medic is the only doctor int he game and is extremely important.
A medic is able to 'refill' or heal a person in exchange for money or for free.
When a medic heals someone, he is rewarded with XP.

A medic uses an 'Infantry Healing Kit' to heal players and this eventually runs out of medical supplies. Medical supplies can be bought by pressing 'F4,' slecting 'Shop' and then buying medical supplies.

As a Medic, you may set up a shop or a hospital where you may serve customers. All regular basing rules apply. In the current AuroraRP map, there is a default hospital in front of the mall which medics can use.

Unlike other players, a medic CAN heal himself and this won't be counted as 'Self Supplying.'
Government Jobs
The government jobs consist of many different classes, most of them are law enforcement capable of arresting people if they do illegal activities. This DOES NOT mean that you can arrest people for reasons like NLR or RDM.

Civil Protection (CPs)

The Civil Protection unit has many uses, he can guard a Police Department, or go on raids for illegal substances. The CP has the following equipment:

  • A Glock-20, for lethal force.
  • Handcuffs, for arresting.
  • An unarrest baton, for unarresting.
  • A weapon checker, to check for illegal weapons (Only if the laws allow you to)
  • A stunstick, to disipline those who do not do as you say.

The CPs make $1,200 per payday.

CP Chief

The CP Chief has the same equipment as the CPs except he has a LMG. He tells the CPs what to do.

Mayor

The Mayor is a high official in the Government jobs, he runs the city, makes lockdowns, and thinks of new laws to better protect the citizens of the city (or not).

Problems people have with the mayor

Most people do not understand that as the mayor, you are a high target for hits. But you cannot metagame by adding to the laws "All hitmen are illegal." Because you do not know if the person inside the PD is a hitman or not.

Another problem with the mayor is that he can only have a pistol, nothing else.

Mayor's Bodyguard

The mayor's bodyguard is like a CP, but he is better armed and has to stick to the mayor at all times.

S.W.A.T Officer

The Swat officer is a special prime job, he has heavy weaponry, spawns with 75 armor, and can enforce the laws with fatal consequences. A swat officer is not to be taken lightly.

Going Corrupt
As a CP or other government job, you can go corrupt. Being corrupt means you accept money in order to help criminals out. But if you are caught doing this, you could be fired!

In order to be corrupt, you have to do the command /job Corrupt CP (or something along the likes), or whatever government job you are.

Benefits of being corrupt

Here are the benefits of being corrupt, but if you are caught with any of these, you will get fired!

  1. You can carry Black Market weapons.
  2. You can indirectly help criminals. For example, say someone wants to raid the bank, they tell you that if you unlock the doors to the bank, then they will pay you $10,000 dollars.
  3. You may "confiscate" recovered counterfeiting materials (i.e printers)
  4. You can bribe to turn a blind eye
Gun Dealers and Attachment Dealers
These jobs are few of the most used and important jobs in-game. You basically provide the arms and accessories to all players, including criminals and the government.

As a gun/attachment dealer you can press F4, select 'shop' and then order your stock. You can order guns individually or in shipments, which is cheaper.

A shipment of guns.

Dealers can also make shops and advertise to the public. You may base with others and have printers but note that all regular basing rules apply.
Gun dealers get raided often so you have to make sure you are well supplied but NEVER self-supply as this would result in severe punishment by the AuroraRP staff. It is always wise to hire a guard for your safety.

The Black Market

The Black Market is a Prime job, and has very powerful weaponry at it's disposal. The Black Market Dealer (BMD) can sell the following weapons:

  • SCAR
  • Grenades (Be sure to advert and only use 1 per person in raids)
  • Knife
  • Lockpick
  • Golden AK-47
  • SR-25
  • Thompson M1A1 (Tommy Gun)
Drug Manufacturer
The Drug Manufacturer is one of the more complex classes, most new players do not know how to use this character or make his drugs, which give considerable profit. The following will help you familiarize yourself with the Drug Manufacturer.

The DM (Drug Manufacturer) is a criminal class, and can weild any weapon. But he cannot participate in raids, or mug people.

The DM can sell steroids, which enhance speed, jump hight, and give the user a health boost temporarily, but it then brings your health down to about 80% from the starting point.

The hilight of DM is making meth, which gives you lots of money if you do it right. Lots of people are confused with how to make meth, so this guide will help new and old players alike.

Cooking stations and items to help you cook

  • A Pot: Used for cooking phosphorus
  • A Stove: To cook meth and phosphorus
  • A Jar: To make Crystal Iodine
  • A Gas canister: To replenish the stove's fuel

Materials for cooking phosphorus

  • Muratic Acid (3 units per container)
  • Liquid Sulfur (2 units per container)

To make a full batch of phosphorus, buy 4 Muratic Acids, and 5 Liquid Sulfurs. Then put them into the Pot. When you are done doing that, put the pot onto the stove and it should cook automaticly.

Materials for cooking iodine

  • Muratic Acid(3 units per container)
  • Liquid Iodine(2 units per container)
  • Water (3 units per container)

To make a full batch of iodine, buy 4 muratic acids, 5 liquide iodines, and 4 waters. Put them into the jar and shake it untill it is at 100%.

Materials for cooking meth

  • Red Phosphorus
  • Crystal Iodine

If you made a full batch of both Iodine and Phosphorus, you should have 15 iodine and 20 phosphorus. A special pot will cook meth. Put 10 phosphorus into the special pot, and 10 iodine into the special pot. Then put the pot onto a stove, after the time is up, extract the pot and press [E] on it. And you will be carying 20 lbs of meth. Be careful not to die, or you will drop it. Now all you have to do is deliver it to a meth addict.

Finding Meth Addicts

Meth Addics are easy to find, they look like a gangster sitting down, you can usually find them in alleys or corners. When you press [E] on them, they will say something to you. If you have no meth, he will yell something and say a random phrase like "Meth Addict: Get the hell out of here!". But if you do have meth on you, he will say a phrase like "Meth addict: Thank you really good, here is your <1250 per pound>"
Gangs/Mobs
Gangs lead the crime in the city along with the thieves.

In AuroraRP, there are two gangs- The Syndicate Gang and The Mafia Gang.

Gang members and bosses follow basic rules including thief rules. Gang members may base, mug, steal and raid.

Mob/Gang Boss

There is a boss for each gang and he is the one who decides where the gang will base and who they will raid. The Syndicate Gang boss and the Mafia Gang boss are rivals and usually never make peace.

As a boss, you are in charge of the gang and you will be able to perform raids along with the other gang members.

As a boss you always spawn with an un-arrest stick which can be very useful to un-arrest allies when you raid the Civil Protection Headquarters and free them from jail.

Regular Gang Member

Regular members of the gang should always be loyal to the boss of the respective gang and fellow members. Regular gang members must listen to the boss and base with him.

Regular gang members don't spawn with anything special, but their defense and attack skills that matter the most.

All gang members can talk to each other privately by pressing 'u' and typing.
It is wise to never mess with gangs as they are usually the most powerful.

Basic Wiremod Help
Many players find 'Wiremod' very complex and hard to use, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy. Some very helpful members of the Aurora Community have contributed to the guide, and this section has been specially written by Carbender. Feel free to visit his Aurora Forums profile by clicking here.[auroraen.com]

How To Setup A Sound Emitter [With On/Off Switch]

Step #1
Find "Sound Emitter" in the Wiremod menu and pick a sound, then place it down
(Must be a GMOD sound or other cant hear it if they don't have the game/gamemode that you have played)

Step #2
Get 2 "Wire Buttons" from the Wiremod menu and put them close to the sound emitter
(I would recommend the red and green button but you can use any)

Step #3
Get The "Advanced Wire" by typing "Wire" in the Wire Search Bar
(Set the width to 0 so its invisible)

Step #4
Wire the sound emitter "Play" to one of the buttons (Green for On/Red for Off) then wire the sound emitter "Stop" to the other button

Step #5
Press the on button to test your sound then the off to turn off
(Find a loop for music or it will just stop)

TIP
You may need to press the off button 2-4 times to reset it

Should Look Something Like This
