First of all
Below, you will find a lot of useful information about where to find legendary crafting resourses.
If you want to get most of it (and you probably do, since you are here) - don't forget to get your Nimble Gatherer III buff from food.
Secrets of the Spires :: Spires of the Clouded Forest Map
1. Night Sky Moss
  • Grows on the stones in water. Beware, the water is too deep to stand and jump out of, so if you fall down from the stone, it could be quite difficult to get back onto the ground.
2. Raindrop Opal
  • To get access to the cave, where legendary raindrop opal grows, you need to complete the Ear to the Ground quest. First, destroy 5 survey sites, and after that - destroy Surveyor Processing Hub. Afterward, give Pandora some time to claim that place for herself (or use fast travel / pass time). Return to the Hub again (security door → security door → elevator → left), and you will find passage to the cave Teylan was talking about during the quest. In those caves you will finally find your opals.
3. Screechers Reed
  • Located around Echo stalkers Burrows
4. Sunrise Lantern Sap
  • Right above the Convoy Watchtower Alpha, you can either clear the area and gather afterward, or quickly smash the flower with your Ikran to gather and fly away (there is a turret and couple of RDA on defense).
5. Murky Waterweed Bast
  • In the southern shallow waters of Drowning Rock
6. Canyon Pine Bark
  • On top of the waterfall, right in front of the Survey Site
7. Blood Vine Branch
  • You'll find it on the huge roots connecting the stones, marked by red-leafed branches
8. Mist Shell
  • On the natural ledge between the two tiers of the waterfall, growing on stone pillars near the edge.
9. Dark Root
  • You will get access to this cave after the Into the Mountain quest. Go to the northern entrance of Sheltering Falls - right in front of it there will be a tall tree, and under its roots there will be a cave. Use Ikran smash to open the entrance, then go deeper into the cave. Eventually, you will find a room with an Echo stalkers burrow, and in the opposite side of that room you will see some legendary roots. There is also a shortcut to the entrance near them.

10. Canyon Thistle
  • Near the trail of huge wheels on the plato
11. Canyon Lift Vine
  • Two of vines grow exactly under the marked cliff. In case you forgot, to gather them you need to catapult yourself from Ikran and climb up all the vine.
12. Canyon Pinecone
  • On the southern part of the small island in Jagged Cove
A. Canyon Whipfang Crawler
  • Search elder ones for legendary tooth. Can be found In the whole area of blue forest.
B. Chiroptera
  • There are 2 nests where you can find elder chiroptera for legendary coarse hide - B1 and B2. B1 is introduced during the main quest, but for gathering I prefer B2 - it is shorter and fully flyable. Both entrances must be opened with an Ikran smash.
C. Canyon Stormglider
  • Source of legendary horn and heavy hide. You can find stormgliders patroling the upper flying stones at Mother's Rise.
D. Canyon Chameleon Crawler
  • Source of heavy hide. They can be found throughout the whole bluish part of that area on the map. Mine, as you can see, had some unpleasant company.
E. Canyon Octofin Fish
  • Fly to The Lonely Lake and choose a rock to stand on (in deep water, not near the lakeshore). Wait for fishing spot to appear. After it is formed and your crosshair became red, shoot an arrow and use your Na'Vi sense on the fish's body. YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE EXQUISITE ONE. Don't worry, it is kind of a visual bug - you will get next tier quality fish bones instead of what Na'Vi sense shows, so, you will get legendary fish bones.
F. Canyon Meer Deer
  • Look for elder ones for legendary light hide. You can find them throughout the whole forest in marked area.
G. Canyon Bone Helm Rhino
  • On the southern part of the marked island. You need elder one to get legendary bone.
The Sky Breaker :: Heart of the Plains Map
1. Sapphire Blood Leaf Bark
  • You can find sapphire blood leaf bark on the biggest tree in marked area.
2. Islet Palm Bast
  • There are plenty of them in shallow water around the small isle. Beware of predators.
3. Scimitar Palm Branch
  • On the very north of the island, behind the research station.
4. Crimson Rock Orchid
  • Crimson Rock Orchid is a local cone. It grows on the top of marked hill; don't forget the direhorse to be able to gather it.
5. Patient Elder Fiber
  • Use your Ikran to fly to the top of the tallest tree remains. Shoot the plant with any weapon you have - this will make the seed fall. Watch where it lands, remember the spot and gather it from the ground.
6. Scrubber Moss
  • On the top of the flying stones. There are many eggs up there, which makes it harder to find moss. I found mine on one of the smallest separate stone.
7. Heartlands Reed
  • In front of two waterfalls, on the riverbank.
8. Patient Elder Resin
  • Resin can be found in the remains of Patient Elders. Beware of thanators, as they spawn in the exact same place, and Na'Vi sence can stop working there.
9. Windbent Tree Root
  • You need to find a tree on the very edge, on the right side of The Greeting Stones. Land at its roots and couple of harvestables will be right there.
10. Ikran Spirit Shell
  • Follow the instructions on the third screenshot. In the canyon, find the place with three small waterfalls, but don't fly straight to it - stop before. You will see the entrance to a side-canyon on the left, right under the red cloth. Fly there and land. Walk to the edge and look down. There will be shells on the stone columns and on the ground as well.
A. Heartland Cloaked Panter
  • A group of panters will be patrolling the area. You need to spot the elder one to get legendary light hide.
B. Heartlands Colossus
  • Pretty easy to spot - there must be a group of them right near the water. Hunt the elder one to get legendary heavy hide.
C. Heartlands Stormglider
  • Near the place where tho moss can be found. They patrol the sky above the flying stones. You need to hunt the mature one to get legendary tooth and horn.
D. Petrified Forest Tanator
  • The same spot, where you can find resin. You would not be able to use Na'Vi sense to spot Thanator. In my case, there were two of them, so beware. From the Thanator you will get legendary bone and light hide.

Hey, the Heart of the Plains map is showing as the Spires. It's possible I'm just crazy. Regardless, thank you so much for this extremely helpful resource!
