What is min-maxing?
minx-maxing is about using the resources you gain wisely.

Important for mobile-like games like this.
Books Books Books!
First off all, buy Books. Among the best thing you can do with your ¥ Money.

There are 3 spots:
  • Shinjuku: Red-light District
  • Shibuya: Central Street
  • Jinbocho (thanks Aaron)

Books can do alot of things. They have a decent Action point to Stats increase ratio, they can UNLOCK stuff like more locations for Hanging Out with accomplices (Friends), They can give you a permament Buff like earning more Cash from Part time jobs. (investment that will definitely pay out)

You can also get Books through other ways. For example you can get one as an Achievement reward like buying 100 Gacha capsules (The Gacha Machines in the City). This Book doubles your chances of getting the rare ones. (Rare: 12.25% -> 25% & Super Rare 1.25% -> 2.5%)

Another reason to buy Books is when a new day starts. You could get the event of sitting in the train and being able to read one of your Books FOR FREE. (No Action point used)

Eventually new Books will be added. So visit it from time to time. I think the first time it happens is after you have beaten the first Palace.

Eventually your supply of Books runs low. When that happens do not spend Action Points to read them. Instead save it for the train.

This comes to our next section.

Action Points
Action Points & City Life

Action Points regenerate each REAL LIFE day at 8 PM UTC.

Action Points can be regenerated with Coffee (either gifted from events or bought with RL money)

It's best you only spend 1 Action Point at once. Because YOU WANT to go to a new ingame day as often as possible. Excep when you see one that says BIG REWARDS and you WANT to go for it.

You want to go to a new day so you can read a Book for free in the train or get Knowledge points from School.

Getting to a new Day has no consequences. You wont be punished in the story for example.

Accomplices

Well not much to be said here as its pretty self explanatory.

One thing though there are 2 types of Hang Outs.
  • Hang Out to increase Friendship points, you can select a gift and a location. (You can unlock more locations with Books) Visiting a place with someone for the first time gives extra points.
  • [Scripted/b] Hangouts, the friend will choose a location. you wont be able to gift something. Those hangouts are to remove the cap limit.[/list]

To be able to remove the cap limit (and go further) you usually need to have a high stat in something or done something.

You do not need to worry about going overkill because of the limit.

Let's take Tomoko for example. There is a limit at Rank 2 already. My first Hang out with her was worth over 500 points. It would have gotten me to level 4 immediately but instead i just got to Rank 2 because of the limit. Once i hanget out with her a second time to remove the limit. I got to level 4 instantly. Those "Overkill" points were stored safely.

(here a example of it happening again)

One more thing, i recommend you hang out with Tomoko in the early game, 2 birds with one stone. You get Money and Friendship from her.

Merope is also a very important accomplice as friendship with her unlocks Personas.

Generally i do not recommend to focus on only one character. You should check the rewards and go for whatever unlock you wanna unlock next.
Thieves Den
Thieves Den should be the first thing you visit once you log in and also the last.

The reason is simple, P Medals. You constantly have a passive income of P Medals and there is a cap. You have to claim it to gain it.

Just Enter Thieves Den (you get the option to unlock it early but game will warn you about spoiler but there is no spoiler) and select INFO [Y], now just claim it.

UPGRADES
I'd say the priority of unlock is:

0: Transform (it's free, you can claim the unlock whenever you got a new Phantom Idol
1: Gallery Lots of permament buffs outside of combat. Combat in general is pretty easy so you can focus on those buffs to get more resources early.
2: Items Buffs for Combat
3: Gallery again because it also has buffs for combat. But those do not increase the whole party, rather it buffs only one character for combat, usually cheaper though iirc. I'd just focus on your main characters first, espicially Wonder as he has to be always present in Combat.
4: Music almost completely useless. Only go for Music unlocks if you want to increase the rating of your den and you already bought everything else it offers atm.

You can also use your P Medals for the shop but meh. personally i rather focus on upgrades.

VISITORS
Also a reason to visit the den first and last of your gaming session. Just like with P Medals your visitors (just select your favorites) gain ♫EXP over time which you have to claim before you hit the cap. getting a level up will net you P Medals and new dialogues when you talk to them in the Den. (Neat!) Max level for visitors is 10.

A higher Den level will increase the amount of P Medals you earn and at lvl 21 you can hold 4 Visitors at once.

To add to the Thieves Den section, i suggest buying gallery artwork that buffs your Yen Income for the same reason you'd want to read the books that increases your money gain from jobs first: Because it's a relatively cheap upgrades that pays off greatly in the long run

Speaking of books, in addition of the yen gain boost books, i also strongly suggest prioritizing reading the books that unlocks new areas, which gives you more areas to pass time with synergies and thus more first time encounters.
