A map with items.
The best game map where you can find all the items and caves!!
https://sotf.th.gl/
The cable launcher.
The cable launcher cave is located to the west of the snowy mountains, on a path next to the lake. The exact location is shown in the screenshots above.
Equip any light source and enter the cave. Move forward until the entrance to a large room appears – there are enemies there, so be careful and stick to the left side of the cave. Jump off the ledge where the skulls are and go left until you reach the passage blocked by the mutant.
Pick up the bomb from the floor to the right of the passage and throw it at the mutant to clear the way. After the throw, it is better to move away to avoid receiving damage from the explosion.

For the successful detonation of the mutant, you will receive the PINATA achievement.

Keep moving forward through the cave until you reach the first fork in the road. The left path will lead to the cable launcher, and the right – to the page, which will reveal a little bit of the lore (plot).

After climbing through a narrow passage with small mutants, you will find yourself at the last fork. The left path leads to a dead end where you can take several materials, and the right one leads to an item.
Keep going forward until you reach the cliff with the rope pistol in your suitcase. You need to take a cable launcher quickly, as there are many monsters roaming nearby.
To get out of the cave, use a tool or just jump down and walk straight – this way you will get to the exit.
Scuba gear (rebreather).
You can find a rebreather in Sons Of The Forest in a cave on the north side of the map, on the beach.
Head northwest and follow the coast until you find several yellow barrels scattered on the ground. Nearby, you will find a sealed entrance that can be hacked with weapons, such as an axe.
Equip a flashlight or take a torch before entering, and then start making your way deeper. It's pretty linear here, so just walk straight until you see the light.
Turn right from the lantern on the ground, then crouch down and move forward through the tunnel until you find a descent leading to a small amount of water.
Be careful, as there will be many mutants roaming near another light source ahead. Run past them or defeat them using weapons, then turn left and continue moving further into the darkness.

There is an electric shock gun in the same cave, but it is located in the other direction. To get the item, you need to turn not to the left, but continue moving forward (where the light is directed) past the crowd of opponents. At the end, you will find a worker hanging, and a gun next to him.
As you continue walking, you will notice several life jackets – this is a sign that you are going in the right direction. Keep walking and, as soon as possible, turn right.
Now move straight through the cave corridors until you come across a ledge and a pond, where another light source will appear ahead. There is a shark swimming in the water, so carefully get down to the ground and walk around to the right side. Then go to the source to pick up scuba gear and other loot.
Shovel.
A shovel is one of the key and most useful items in Sons Of The Forest survival. With it, you can dig out the entrances to many shelters and find a variety of additional weapons or equipment.
After getting a rope thrower and scuba gear, you will finally be able to go hiking for the main goal. You can find a shovel inside the cave in the central part of the map. There are three corpses right in front of the entrance to this cave, so you can't pass by.
Weather.
There are four weather seasons in the game Sons of the Forest: spring, summer, autumn and winter. The full season cycle takes 20 game days. 23

Spring and summer: the leaves are green, there are many animals. By default, the game world starts in early summer, and both seasons last 5 game days.

Autumn: leaves turn brown and orange, winter is approaching. By default, the season lasts 5 days.

Winter: The entire game world is covered with snow. The air is much colder, lakes that used to be full of floating water are freezing, and you can walk on them. By default, winter lasts for 5 days in the game.

In the custom game mode, you can set the length of the seasons: the short setting is 3 days, the default setting is 5 days, the long setting is 10 days, and the realistic setting is 90 days.
How to remove the armor.
If you have already equipped your character with several pieces of armor, then you will not be able to remove them. You will have to wait until the enemies completely destroy them. However, this can be done after finding the golden armor – just put it on, and all parts of your current armor will immediately be removed from you.
Hardwood armor.
It can be somewhat more difficult to make than bone armor due to possible problems with finding the fabric (besides, it is required for many other items). Plus, the leaf armor offers noticeably less protection – a normal native attack removes 3 strength cells (the average value, since much depends on the difficulty level you choose and the strength of the opponent).
However, leaf armor provides a stealth bonus that allows you to avoid cannibals and mutants in "green" areas (fields, forests, and so on). This will help you hide from enemies during the first hours of the game.
Skin armor.
It is slightly stronger than the previous set, since a simple native attack removes 2 segments of the strip, and a strong one removes 3. At the same time, it also gives a stealth bonus, which makes it easier to avoid opponents who rely on their eyes. However, apparently, this set does not provide any protection from the cold. In addition, it will be more difficult to create it due to the need to hunt animals.
Bone armor.
It can be called the best option for an early game, since it is relatively easy to get this set due to the lack of need to look for fabric, and it protects a little better than a leather set - a regular blow from an aborigine removes 1 cell of the scale. However, you won't get any stealth bonuses, so enemies will notice you from afar.
Terrible armor.
The best set for middlegame, as it is relatively easy to get, and it provides the character with good protection: it takes 2 regular cannibal attacks to remove 1 strip cell. You don't need to craft it, just go to some cave or bunker to kill a couple of mutants and butcher them.
After a while, the monsters will start to come out of the caves to the surface, which will make it even easier for you to collect armor elements, so you can easily use it until the end of the game. On the map below, you can see the approximate location of the mutants (some locations are underground).
Let's add that sometimes you will encounter natives wearing this armor. When using long-range weapons, try to shoot such enemies in unprotected areas of the body, otherwise you will waste a shell or bullet without causing damage to the enemy and only destroying one of the armor elements.
Technobrony.
The most durable armor in the game, as it can withstand 3 normal cannibal strikes before 1 cell disappears from it. But it's quite difficult to call it the best. It's all about the complexity of its manufacture. First, you will need to find one of the four 3D printers (they are hidden in bunkers, and their approximate location is shown in the screenshot below), and then collect a lot of fairly rare items.
Thus, even if you manage to craft a full set of techno armor, you are unlikely to wear it on a permanent basis, since if it breaks, it will not be easy to restore this equipment. We advise you to keep it for boss battles or elite enemies.
Golden armor.
You can't craft it, just find it. You can find this set in a bunker located in the northeastern part of the island.
This armor cannot be broken, so its strip will be solid. It does not protect against cannibals and most mutants in any way, so with it you will receive full damage from them. This kit only reduces the damage caused by demons in lava caves. However, again, in battles with them it is better to use creepy or techno armor. Thus, its only purpose can be considered to be opening the door with a hand in the final bunker.
Red and gold masks.
They are not part of the armor, as they do not increase the protection of the character, but we decided to consider them anyway in this article, because they can be indirectly attributed to the equipment. By wearing a red or gold mask, you can impersonate an aborigine, so they will stop attacking you.
Electric rubber stick.
It can be found in the central-western part of the island near two possible spawn sites of the main character. You don't need any additional tools to get this baton, so you can pick it up in the first hours of the game. The screenshots below show its exact location.
With the help of an electric club, you can temporarily stun enemies, which is especially useful when fighting with large groups of opponents. However, it cannot be used indefinitely, as it requires batteries to recharge.
A modern axe.
It's located in an abandoned camp in the southwestern part of the island (which is where the hero usually spawns), and you don't need any additional tools to get it. Here you will find a campground (just go to the sound of music). Find the soldier's corpse and remove the axe from his chest.
A fire axe.
It's hidden in an underground bunker, so first you have to get a shovel. The excavation site is shown in the screenshots below. Go down to the shelter, walk along the corridor ahead and find the axe on the far wall. Note that he cuts down trees faster and deals more damage to enemies, but has a slightly lower attack speed. It can be called one of the best edged weapons in the game.
A machete.
It can be found on the northern coast, near one of the hero's spawn sites and the cave entrance. You will find a machete near the lowered inflatable boat shown in the screenshot below. No one is guarding him, so you can get this weapon at the very beginning of the game. However, it does not have outstanding characteristics, so it is advisable to replace this knife with something more interesting as soon as possible.
Guitar.
She can be found in a secret bunker located in the central-western part of the island (the exact location is shown in the screenshots below). Inside, you will need a staff key card and a VIP card. The guitar is on the bar counter in the lounge area, which comes after the pool area.
Chainsaw.
It is located in the same shelter as the guitar. Stand with your back to the bar where the musical instrument is and return to the pool. Then use the guest key card to open the double doors, walk through the hallway and enter the cinema. Take the chainsaw off the corpse.
Hockey stick.
Relatively weak weapons, but they can be found in several places – most of them are located in the southeastern part of the island. They can usually be found next to golf cars. The screenshots below show the relevant locations.
Katana.
In terms of damage, it is slightly inferior to a fire axe, but it has a higher attack speed, so it is an extremely dangerous edged weapon. You can find it in a secret bunker located in the northeastern part of the island. The entrance to it is shown in the images below. Get a guest key card before you go there.
Cross.
It can be found in two locations. The first one lies in the same cave as the cable launcher. It is difficult to lose sight of it, as the large shadow of the crucifixion is displayed on the wall. (Has an improvement in the leith game against demons)
A slingshot.
It may well become one of your first shooting guns, as it can be found near two possible spawn sites of the main character. The desired location is located in an open area and is not guarded by anyone – it is shown in the screenshots below. For shooting, a slingshot requires the presence of small pebbles, which can be found almost everywhere.
It does little damage and does not have a very high range. We advise you to replace it with a homemade bow as soon as possible.
Gun.
There are two pistols on the island. The first one is lying on an inflatable boat drifting off the west coast, and the second one is hidden in a bunker in the southeast. Both places are covered in a separate guide. There we also told you how to find a mount, a laser pointer and a flashlight for this weapon. The extra barrel, by the way, can be transferred to Virginia.
A taser.
It is located in a cave located on the northern coast. You will find a stun gun near a corpse tied to the ceiling. With the shocker, you can stun enemies from afar for 10-15 seconds. Electrical ammunition is required to use it.
A shotgun.
There are two shotguns on the island. The first one is hidden in a coffin, which you will have to dig out with a shovel. The required grave is located in the north-western part of the island. The second one can be found in the final bunker. You can give the extra cannon to Virginia.
Revolver.
It is located in an unfinished underground bunker located in the northeastern part of the island. The screenshots below show the excavation site. Then go down to the shelter, walk along the corridor and turn right. You will find a cannon near the corpse. It has more killing power than a pistol, but it takes longer to recharge and has a fairly strong recoil.
A block bow.
You can find it in another underground shelter located in the southwestern part of the island. The exact location is shown in the pictures below. Go downstairs, walk down the corridor ahead and turn right. Go to the back of the room and enter the bathroom – you will find a modern bow near the corpse.
Crossbow.
It's hidden in the same bunker as the staff's key card. The images below show its location. We have reviewed in detail the entire route to the crossbow in a separate article. He can also deal heavy damage to enemies from a considerable distance, but crossbow bolts are noticeably more difficult to reach than arrows.
A rifle.
It can be found in a cave located in the northeastern part of the island. Dangerous mutants, including demons, will be waiting for you inside. You will also need scuba gear to swim the area underwater.
A manufactured spear.
To create it, you will need the following materials: 2 sticks, a knife and an adhesive tape. It is well suited for hunting small animals and birds, as well as fighting with weak cannibals. It will be very difficult for them to defeat mutants and other powerful enemies.
Homemade bow.
You can craft it from the following resources: 2 sticks, rope and duct tape.
This bow does not do much damage, and the range of the shot leaves much to be desired, but at an early stage there is practically no alternative to it.
A manufactured baton.
To create it, you will need certain items: a skull, a rope and a stick. You can get a skull by killing and burning cannibals at the stake. A homemade baton is a pretty formidable weapon, especially at the beginning of the game, but later it should be replaced with something more powerful, for example, a fire axe.
Torch.
You can create a torch from one stick and one cloth (the approximate location of this material can be seen in the picture below; the remaining places are shown on the interactive map). You only need to craft it once – then you can light the torch at any time using a lighter.
The torch is great for lighting dark caves. However, it can also be used as a weapon. Although it doesn't do much damage, it can set enemies on fire.
Molotov cocktail.
You can craft this incendiary mixture by using a bottle of vodka and one piece of cloth. She does a great job with mutants in the early stages of the game, when many gamers don't have firearms yet. The main thing is to learn how to accurately hit the target.
A bomb with a timer.
To make it, collect the following items: Scotch tape, wire, a printed circuit board (you can get it from broken laptops), 5 coins, a wristwatch and a C4 charge. This explosive is capable of causing much more damage than a Molotov cocktail, but it is noticeably more difficult to create it. We advise you to use it only against extremely strong and not very fast enemies.
Staff key card
There are three types of key cards in Sons of The Forest: red, purple and gold key cards. They are located in different locations and open up different locations, so it's important to get all three.

The service key card is located in bunker "A", which is located in the north-western quarter of the card. Head towards the placemark. When you get to the right place, use a shovel and dig out the hatch located between the instruments for surveyors.
Guest key card.
The guest's key card is lost in a bunker located in the southeast of the western bay of the island, from which you need to swim to the raft. After reaching the necessary coordinates in the forest, find an inconspicuous entrance to the cave. Squeeze between the rocks to get inside.
Go deeper into the cave and find yourself in a bunker. Then follow the corridor further, reaching the first door, turn left. Move towards the source of the white light, when you come to another corridor, you need to turn right.
After going all the way, you will find yourself near the double doors. To move forward, you will need a staff key card, which was mentioned in the previous paragraph. Walk through the entire gym, keeping to the left wall. Eventually, you will enter a room with an orange light. Pass through this room and go out into the hall with two spiral staircases, which you need to climb to the next floor.
Once in the pool, go through it and proceed to the central doors leading to the bar. On the rack on the left is a melee weapon – a guitar, but you need to run even further. Go into a nightclub and, keeping to the right, go to the third table. The blue key card is on it.
VIP key card.
The golden key card is located in a bunker in the far left corner of the map, north of a large lake. When you reach the desired point, find two golf carts standing at the edge of the forest.
Opposite them is the entrance to the cave, from which you can get to the right shelter. Beware of the enemies that you will encounter along the way, we recommend that you provide yourself with weapons in advance.
Once in the cave, keep to the left side. You need to jump off first, then go deeper until you reach the descent into the bunker. It stands out with a white lamp. When you go downstairs, turn into the first door on the right.: to open it, you need a purple staff key card.
Next, go past the hydroponics halls, go through three rooms, open the door, go down the stairs to the lower floor. Once in the flooded rooms, swim forward past the same hydroponics rooms. Eventually you will reach the corridor that leads to the double closed doors. There is an open room on the left, and you need to swim into it.
Go through one room and go up the stairs. You will enter the security room. On the table, in front of the left monitors, lies the key card of Virginia.
An artificial intelligence system.
In the game Sons of the Forest, the artificial intelligence system for every living being is designed to provide players with a dynamic and evolving experience. This is achieved through a set of cognitive abilities known as "thoughts," which generate paths for each creature based on a variety of variables that adapt and evolve depending on the player's actions and decisions. To achieve this level of complexity, the artificial intelligence system in the game uses a rule-based modeling approach that allows you to program specific rules and constraints in advance that determine the behavior of creatures. Each entity in the game is classified by name, emotion, fear, anger, and energy level, which significantly affect their interaction with the player.

Although this type of information may not be visible to the player, it plays a crucial role in understanding the game's artificial intelligence system. Using rule-based simulation, developers can create a rich and exciting gameplay experience that provides players with a dynamic and evolving gameplay experience.
Sentimentality.
Sentimentality plays a crucial role in Sons of the Forest, influencing how cannibal's artificial intelligence remembers past interactions with the player. The only way to reduce the sentimentality towards the player among the entities is to harm them in any way possible. If the cannibal is seriously injured and remains alive, his negative attitude towards the player will persist for a long time. Notably, entities such as the cannibal of the Golden Mask retain their feelings towards the player, even if they are attacked by the player.

Although the full extent of sentiment's impact remains uncertain, it currently serves no practical purpose in the game. However, there is a possibility that the developers will allow players to establish friendships with certain cannibals or offer homage in the future. At the moment, the mood level will only increase when interacting with Kelvin or Virginia.
Fear.
Fear works similarly to feelings. It is important to note that there are two types of fear in the game. The first is fear caused by the player, which is relatively simple and is a direct reaction to the player's actions. The second type of fear is more complex and is based on common environmental factors. This type of fear is more difficult to explain and understand.

The fear caused by the player can be interpreted as rational behavior that varies for different objects. For example, "Dirty Cannibals" usually start with a fear value of 30, unlike "ordinary cannibals", which starts with 0. This value encourages entities to run away from the player when their fear level approaches 100. Currently, fear levels can only be increased by shooting weapons or creating your own images.

Despite the presence of this variable, cannibals can still run away, even when their fear level is 0. One method is to tease cannibals with a severed head. This type of fear is primarily caused by the environment surrounding the entity. This can lead to cannibals making more unpredictable decisions compared to the fear caused by the player, who usually makes cannibals run away with only 100% predictability.

The best way to understand this type of fear is to compare it to a person's stress during combat. A cannibal's fear level, for example, can start at about 20 during combat, but can quickly increase to 100 when he takes damage. In such situations, the level of fear tends to fluctuate frequently, rising and falling in response to changing circumstances.
Anger.
The most influential variable among them is anger, which directly affects the objects in the game. Basically, anger is the probability that a cannibal will attack a player. Although this variable has not been fully studied, it has been found that the initial level of cannibal anger towards the player at the beginning of the game is 10, and it increases depending on the player's actions throughout the game. Actions such as destroying villages, killing cannibals, being in a village camp, being in close proximity to cannibals, cutting down trees, and shooting cannibals or the whole neighborhood can lead to increased anger levels. As soon as he reaches 100, the cannibals will start behaving aggressively and will actively pursue and attack the player. At the moment, there is no way to reduce this figure. Consequently, players cannot maintain peaceful relations with any of the clans or cannibals.

The game uses two types of anger levels: influenced by the player and influenced by the environment. The former is determined by the player's actions, while the latter is determined by various environmental factors such as the presence of enemies or perceived threats. It is known that these anger levels often fluctuate, rising and falling in response to changing circumstances. Their influence on the behavior of entities makes them the most important variable to consider when playing.

In the latest update, the developers have calibrated anger levels for certain muddies cannibal creatures. It seems that the anger levels for this entity have been lowered from 10 to 6, which has led to a decrease in their aggression levels. In the foreseeable future, we expect that such changes in the behavior of entities may become more frequent. As a result, we plan to create a board to monitor all facilities when needed.
Energy.
Energy can be considered as a variable shared by the player and other characters in the game. This setting is crucial to create a realistic experience for the characters, as it creates a sense of vulnerability and limits their stamina, just like the player's. With each movement, the character loses 0.1 units of energy. However, some characters, such as the golden cannibal, can consume energy faster, especially when attacking the player. Depending on the type of attack, energy losses for a creature can range from 2-3 units for a sword strike to 6-9 units for a powerful blow.

In addition, this variable also affects Kelvin, one of your playmates. His ability to complete tasks and help the player directly depends on his energy level. For example, cutting down trees in rapid succession can cause them to lose up to one energy level per second. As soon as he finishes the task, Kelvin will take a break and rest to gain energy levels. Despite the fact that Kelvin has a limited amount of energy, he is able to continue performing tasks even when his energy level is depleted to zero.
Memory.
Memory is an important component of the subject's decision-making process, as it allows the subject to recall past actions. However, not all interactions and events can be stored in memory, as this would require significant computing resources. Instead, only important events and interactions that have a significant impact on the object's behavior are recorded and stored in memory. This includes fighting regular cannibals, fighting dirty guys, getting sticks, and using firearms by the player.

The memory value of each creature decreases by 0.01 every 3 seconds, which means that the influence of past events and interactions on the creature's behavior weakens over time. However, the memory value will stop decreasing as soon as it reaches a certain threshold, which depends on the frequency and intensity of the observed actions of the player. For example, when a player attacks a village and engages in battle with a member of a cannibal family, this event is recorded in the memory of the entire family and affects their behavior towards the player. It is important to note that if a player fights a certain type of cannibal alongside other types of cannibals, this event will remain in their memory and have a long-term impact on their behavior.

It should be noted that the cannibals in the game will not remember if you spare them or their injured family members. However, they may retain other feelings such as fear and attachment to the player. It is important to keep in mind that these creatures are not capable of experiencing complex emotions or thinking beyond what is programmed into their AI. Therefore, although they can exhibit certain behaviors and reactions, they do not have true memory or consciousness like a human.
Statistics.
Variables called "statistics" are an integral part of the behavior of all entities. However, the current implementation of this variable is incomplete and requires further development on the part of the developer, as it has little effect on their behavior. At the moment, entities are not penalized for low statistics values. Statistics are divided into three main components: satiety, hydration, and energy.

The feeling of fullness depends on how much food the creature consumes. For example, cannibals have virtually no feeling of satiety and rely on consuming body parts to quickly replenish their satiety levels. Although they appear to exhibit hunting behavior, it has yet to be observed in action. In contrast, animals such as birds exhibit more explicit satiety-related behaviors as they actively seek out food and water sources. A seagull is a prime example of this, as it lands to eat something, even if it cannot be interacted with. The satiety level decreases by 0.1 for each creature every 2-3 seconds.

The level of hydration is important for the survival of all creatures and can be replenished by consuming any available water source, including cave water for blind mutants. In the future, hydration may become more noticeable, as it can significantly affect the behavior of creatures if they do not consume it. However, at present, creatures do not have to consume water, and this does not significantly affect their behavior. Although cannibals can sometimes consume water from a nearby body of water, this is not a priority for them. At the moment, the hydration level decreases by about 0.1 every 0.7 seconds.
Hidden but useful mechanics.
Below we list the useful gameplay elements of Sons of the Forest, which are not mentioned.:

You can keep warm with a torch. If you haven't found any warm clothes or your character is freezing, you can quickly warm up if you create a torch and light it with a lighter.

You can use a cannibal mask. When you put on a mask, they won't attack you if they don't get too close. With it, you can easily sneak into the Natives' lair and pick up their supplies.

With GPS, you can mark important places and navigate the terrain.

When you use your inventory, time stops. You can freely change weapons, eat food, or use medicine.

Don't explore the caves until you get firearms, a flashlight, and armor. All the caves marked in the navigation are very dangerous.

With explosives and grenades, you can quickly chop down trees and destroy various objects.
Cannibals can't swim, and you can easily escape from them with the help of water.

The more noise you make and the more light sources you emit, the more attractive your house becomes to the natives.

The end of the game will come for you if your character dies several times in a row in a short period of time.
Ordinary Cannibals.
Ordinary cannibals, which are the basic type of cannibals, can be scared away. As shown in the 3rd Sons of the Forest trailer, cannibals at gunpoint will not dare to attack the player. Some of them are more careful and bump into buildings, break down doors or even steal resources from the player.

In the second trailer, you can see how cannibals help each other when they are injured. They can also be defused by shooting at certain parts of the body, such as the legs.

Their limbs can be chopped off while they are alive, and they will try to escape from the player. Instant decapitation is possible.
Cannibals, young and old, can be seen all over the island, mourning the dead. This can often happen if the player decides to kill a Cannibal in their camp, and another Cannibal returns to discover them.

Depending on the season and the tribe, an ordinary cannibal will wear different armor and equipment, which makes it more difficult to fight in winter, as several factions will be completely clad in creepy armor.

After a few days, you can see some cannibals walking in groups of 2-3 people. They will wander around any building built by the player, and sometimes just run inside if there is a door there, and then leave. They are very aggressive and will definitely attack you. The best way to protect yourself from cannibals when you are outside your base is to use traps. If you place them behind doors or in certain corners of the base and on the ground, they will stun the cannibals and they will die or get injured and quickly escape.
At first glance, ordinary cannibals are not particularly interesting, but they have complex behavior that can lead to a variety of situations depending on the style of play and the player's reaction.
Lonely Cannibals.
Lone cannibals can be found patrolling, wandering, praying in the camp, grieving, or drinking water from a source such as a stream or lake. Although it may seem that these cannibals are alone, it is important to note that there may well be other cannibals nearby. Thus, as a player, if you are unable to handle a combat situation or feel confident in fight-or-flight behavior, you may not want to approach a supposedly lone cannibal, even if it might be tempting.

Lone cannibals behave differently than those who walk in small groups. Cannibals, like humans, rely mainly on their tribes, which consist of their families, and if they are caught alone, they are not as confident as most others. Lone cannibals tend to be less aggressive, and if they don't have guns or are female, they behave even more passively. These lonely creatures do not attack the player, but show curiosity and mostly try to stay away from him. You can usually see these cannibals approaching or following the player. They climb rocks, climb trees, kneel, and so on to watch the player from afar. During this time, they will tilt their heads, scratch themselves, and seemingly watch you.

These cannibals are curious about you and, being alone, without much protection, will prefer to watch you. This is a natural behavior that is usually passive for cannibals who observe the player's behavior the way the player treats them. Cannibals sometimes decide to threaten the player and make hand movements, threatening to slit your throat by running their finger over their own throat, while other people with guns can pick it up and wave it in front of the player.
Dirty Cannibals.
Main article: Dirty Cannibals
"Dirty cannibals" or "naked" are smaller cannibals who walk/run on all fours. They can climb rocks and trees and hide in bushes to ambush players. They emit almost the same manic chuckles and screams as the Hungry Cannibal from the previous game The Forest. Dirty cannibals sometimes jump on the player from behind. These cannibals can throw small stones, but on the first day they are mostly determined to study the player. After 2-3 minutes of studying the player, they may become emboldened and try to hit you. Timidly at first, only one of them, then the whole group will attack.

Dirty cannibals are fed by cannibals through feeders near cannibal camps. The best way to fight Dirty Cannibals in combat is usually to use slower but stronger weapons such as a modern axe. One blow is usually enough to dismember them, rendering them completely immobilized.
The cannibal is a spearman.
Eddie carries three elaborately crafted spears on his back. When his target is in range, he grabs one of his spears and throws it at them. Eddie will try to predict the target's movement when throwing the spear, so he will need some dexterity to avoid being hit. If Eddie is forced into close combat or runs out of spears, he will behave like an ordinary cannibal. Although the damage caused by thrown spears remains quite manageable, it is easy to hit it by being distracted by other enemies.
The cannibal is a pyromaniac.
Frank the Cannibal can be recognized by his dark tanned skin and the torch he carries. Feeling threatened, Frank doused himself with two bottles of vodka before setting himself on fire. He will then try to directly attack the player manually. Touching or hitting Frank while he is on fire will cause the player to light up. Although passive gorenje damage is usually easy to deal with, it can reduce a player's lifespan when fighting a group of cannibals, as Frank rarely appears alone.
Fat cannibals.
Fat cannibals can look like both men and women, each with their own distinctive looks and mannerisms. Males are covered from head to toe in red paint or blood and always look completely naked, standing intimidatingly. The female may appear either in a loincloth or in an improvised dress made of leather strips, usually cowering and generally displaying more disturbing behavior.

Regardless of gender, fat cannibals have the same set of attacks.
The cannibal with the orange mask.
The cannibal with the orange mask can only be summoned using the console. He has a very large reserve of health, and he has no sense of fear.
Cannibals are heavyweights.
Heavyweights are tall and hefty cannibals who carry either a large homemade baton made from a skull and spine, or, less often, a working outboard motor. They are severely disfigured by some kind of injury or malformation, as a result of which their mouth is terribly damaged, and their nose and left eye are missing. Although this could be due to a birth defect or serious injury, it is most likely that this malformation arose as a result of exposure to the effects of the Cube. Heavyweights tend to appear more often as cannibals in a golden mask, indicating their more dominant status in cannibal families. If there is a throne in their village, heavyweights in Golden Masks can be seen sitting or sleeping on it.
The leader of the tribe.
Masked cannibals seem to be superior to ordinary cannibals in the hierarchy. Although they don't have any additional powerups or unique sets of techniques compared to their subordinates, masked cannibals are significantly harder to scare; their fear stats will increase significantly more slowly compared to other cannibals, making them more resilient in combat situations and less likely to escape. Masked cannibals are most often seen in villages or at the head of search parties. Some villages have a throne.; If there is a Masked Heavyweight in the village, he can sit on the throne or sleep on it. The golden mask worn by these cannibals has no protective properties. Ordinary masked cannibals who appear at night will also be equipped with a flashlight glued to their heads, which gives a bright light to direct patrols. In addition, the Red Mask will not fool cannibals in a Golden Mask; the player must wear a Golden Mask himself to go incognito.
The guardian of the engine.
A cannibal in a golden mask, who, unlike his baton-wielding cousins, wields a boat propeller (an improvisational chainsaw). His height and strength gives him a dominant advantage in the tribe, where he acts as a guard or attacking force. He often takes part in patrols, but he can also meet alone.

He also has a war paint: white stripes on the body, a woolen collar and a gold mask. Do not confuse this bully with the leader of the tribe, as they occupy different roles, despite their identical masks and physiques.

Like all thugs, he is very skilled in combat, able to block your attacks and knock you down with one blow. In combat, it is better to keep your distance, and if you have a long-range rifle, you can shoot at the propeller itself to cause an explosion.

He stands up for other cannibals, behaves positively with other cannibals, and is hostile to the player and his companions.

His head cannot be used as an ornament, but it is possible to carve up the body.
The blind man.
Blind people roam caves, often with other blind people and with fingers, twins and other mutants. They also walk on surfaces, but on the surface they most often walk with vandals, and they can also be found tied up in cannibal villages. They can stand still in a "sleeping" position. They are guided by sounds, and if they notice a player or a cannibal, they will start screaming, attracting the attention of other mutants. After they finish yelling, they will attack the player.

They most often move on all fours, running in circles trying to confuse the enemy. They can also walk on their feet. They move on two legs when they get close to their opponents.

Single blind people usually do not attack, but prefer to escape instead.

Compared to cannibals, blind people have much more health. While cannibals usually die from several shots to the torso or from one to the head, blind people can withstand quite a lot of shots to the torso, and they can also survive several shots to the head.

The best way to kill them is with different types of silent weapons, such as a crossbow or a pistol with a silencer.
Multi-finger
They are naturally hostile to the player. As they approach, they attack the player and try to hit him using their entire body as a weapon. These mutants are ruthless in their attacks, so you should be careful before challenging them. They do a lot of damage when hitting a player, so it is recommended to block and dodge.

Hitting or shooting one of their legs will temporarily immobilize them and thus give players the opportunity to kill them. Although hand-to-hand combat is not recommended, watching their telegraphs and counting their punches can be very helpful. A katana can be used to disable their legs, and a Machete can be used to stun single fingers if you don't expect company to sneak up on you from behind.

When they are killed, they spit out a spider web-like substance from their mouths that does not affect the player. You can skin their bodies and get 1 creepy armor.

When they do not detect the player, these mutants will roam their cave dwellings and spew out long strands of white matter. Usually, where they appear, frothy, bubbly white substance can be seen along the cave walls and ceiling, as well as viscous white viscous liquids. Most likely, this liquid serves as a storeroom for both themselves and blind mutants, because dead people can be found stuck in this substance along with their belongings. In addition, if it is knocked down with Fingers, the player wakes up sealed in a pod of milky-white slime, from which he needs to free himself.
Twins.
Twins crawl in caves, and they can also crawl on cave walls. They don't usually walk in pairs with other mutants, however, they can sometimes walk with other mutants. After one of the halves takes a large amount of damage, the other half will start to move away and pull the damaged half away from the opponent.

They often move slowly and stealthily, which makes them difficult to spot, especially in dark caves.

They have a lot of health, even more than thumbs and sleptsov.

Sometimes the twins can come out of the ground. Most often they come out of the ground on the surface. Before they get out, you can see how they start pulling their hands out of the ground, scattering rocks and earth.

The best way to kill them is with explosives, such as grenades or sticky bombs.
Baby.
Mutant cubs can almost always be seen in large hordes, usually living in narrow spaces in caves, and sometimes around other creepy mutants such as Fingers or Twins. Mutant babies will attack the player, crawling up to him and rushing, waving their short, seemingly severed umbilical cords. Although these attacks deal moderate damage, the real danger comes from the large number of Babies, which can easily overwhelm the player, especially in the dark and confined space of caves, where it can be difficult to keep track of each Baby.

However, their initial attacks are easy to dodge, and they are indicated by a distinctive screech, which makes them relatively predictable as long as the player continues to look at the group and avoids the environment. In addition, they have very little health, and they can be easily defeated even before they try to attack the player.

The best way to get rid of mutant babies is with a well-placed grenade or Molotov cocktail, as they appear in groups. Since they can be very dangerous in large numbers, it is usually more profitable to take the cubs from a distance. However, if you need to get rid of them at close range, high-damage melee weapons such as a Modern Axe or a Fireman's Axe will easily destroy them with a single blow. Weapons with high attack speed, such as Machetes or Katanas, will also easily break through hordes of Mutants.
Spring.
They move in acrobatic movements, throwing one torso onto the other, like a connected front spring. But they also crawl quickly on the ground and shake like snakes, making bones creak. It is also known that these mutants are extremely dangerous and hostile towards the player, leaving no mercy and instantly rushing to attack when the player comes into view. Despite their clumsy anatomy, caterpillars are among the fastest enemies in the game, able to keep up with the sprinting player. It is highly recommended to use ranged weapons, as they are also capable of delivering powerful and ranged attacks. The shotgun seems to be the most effective weapon against caterpillars, especially because they are large targets with predictable movement patterns. Alternatively, they can be stunned with a stun gun or an electric baton, and then killed with melee weapons, as they tend to appear on their own.

He doesn't seem to be devoted to either cave-dwelling or surface-dwelling cannibals, as he will shamelessly fight both groups without paying attention.

These mutants also have the ability to walk through buildings, which makes it difficult to find a safe place unless you are in a multi-storey building.
Blob (Slug).
In "Sons of the forest", a slug can be seen passing through inaccessible places in caves and tunnels before he first encounters it. In other cases, the slug can be found stuck in cracks that block further progress through the cave or block a short path back to the exit when exiting the cave. When faced with these wedges, you can easily detonate them with any explosive. If the player approaches the cave version of the Slug, it will attack.

Slugs currently do NOT appear in the game as enemy creatures and therefore are in no way hostile. In very rare cases, Slugs can show affection to the player by performing a slow dance.

The slug that appears in the cutscene in the bunker towards the end of the story turns out to be dead and blocks the way back when the main character wakes up. Although he appears with the Babies in this video, he does not appear with them anywhere else in the game and does not have the ability to spawn them.

You can get a Pinata achievement for blowing up a slug or getting within range of another player blowing up a slug.
Demon.
From a distance, they attack by arching their backs and raising their hind legs above their heads to stab an opponent with their sharp hind legs, similar to how a scorpion stings. In close combat, they deliver a volley of blows with their forehands, dealing significant damage. Ancient Armor is the optimal equipment to defend against their attacks.

To fight back against these creatures, you can use the holy cross. This will stun them, set them on fire, and even scare them away for a short time. To kill a demon, you need three strokes of the cross.

Sometimes (at the end of the game) they can come to the surface and attack in groups. After killing them, they can be stripped of their Creepy Armor.
Handy (SOTF).
Repeating his counterpart from The Forest, Rukastyj is a towering mutant, most notable for the numerous arm—like appendages connected to his headless upper torso. He walks on three deformed legs, his feet have apparently been replaced with claw-like hooves.

The handyman will start appearing on the surface only after completing the game. They roam the forest alone, making deep growls and distinctive hoofbeats. Upon seeing the target, he will start stomping on the ground and growl loudly, indicating that he is becoming hostile.

The big-armed one will attack the player by rushing at him and swinging his powerful arms, knocking him down and dealing significant damage. Despite his sheer brute strength, he seems to have difficulty navigating during combat, offering few opportunities to strike with melee weapons such as a katana. However, this remains a risky tactic, as he can suddenly swing his arms around himself and catch the player off guard.

Although long-range weapons remain the safest way to deal with Hand-held weapons, they appear to have a higher resistance to bullets than to melee strikes and explosives.

It should be noted that although a Handyman can cause significant damage to player structures, he is significantly less destructive than in The Forest. His attacks deal significantly less damage to structures such as defensive walls, and he cannot break trees.
Long-legged.
A hideous mutant that seems to walk upside down, moving with the help of tentacles like fingers. His abilities are high jumps and high movement speed. He can stay on the ceiling in caves, catching the player off guard if he is not noticed. He has a lot of health, which makes him a serious threat. This is one of the two mutants added in the full release update. After death, you can skin him to get 2 pieces of creepy armor.
It's full of holes.
Holey is a very large mutant with many holes in his body. He has 3 legs and no arms. This is one of the largest mutants, and it is impossible not to notice it.

They are initially hostile towards the player. As they approach, they will pounce on the player and knock him to the ground. Hawley is also capable of jumping high into the sky, just like Legsy. They can also jump over barricades and onto roofs. After landing, they stay on the ground for about 3 seconds, giving the player the opportunity to attack them with melee weapons. It is recommended to fight Holises away from any buildings, as they are extremely destructive and can demolish most buildings in a few blows.
The boss is a Demon.
The Demon BossBoss Demon) is one of the last enemies, and is so aptly named because he lives in caves filled with magma, and the cross damages him. The demon lies deep beneath the surface of the island and is immune to the lava flowing there.

It first appears as a mini-boss at the end of lava caves, but can also rarely appear on the surface after completing the game. Along with the usual sets of demon techniques, boss demons can jump on the player, dealing significant damage and knocking him down. Crosses harm them, but it's not the smartest way to deal with them. After death, you can collect 2 creepy armor from him.
Jianyu Zhang (The Final boss).
Due to the direct impact of the Cube, Jianyu Zhang underwent severe mutations, turning him into a grotesque and extremely dangerous creature. Despite his clumsy anatomy and height, he is very agile and is able to jump on the player to knock him down, causing significant damage.

In particular, he has the ability to create other mutants from his body, such as babies and twins. Despite his clumsy anatomy and height, he is very agile and is able to jump on the player to knock him down, causing significant damage. The preferred method of dealing with it is the use of ranged weapons, bombs, and firearms.
Edward Puffton general information.
Edward Puffton is a non-playable, minor character in the game Sons of The Forest. He is the founder and CEO of Puffton Corporation. He is also a multi-billionaire with an estimated net worth of $500 billion and a net worth of almost $800 billion.

Edward Puffton looks like an old man dressed in a tuxedo with a bow tie. He has gray hair and a beard. His height is 175 centimeters and his weight is 75 kilograms. His eyes are gray. After the mutation, he looks like a blind man, wearing the same tuxedo and having the same gray hair and beard.

History

Being passionate about unusual artifacts, and being an art lover, he became very interested in a certain "Golden Cube". He spent most of his life as a businessman and entrepreneur until he met his late wife, Barbara Puffton. At some point, they got married and had a daughter, Virginia Puffton.

Before starting the game, he found a link to the "Golden Cube" and the island where the events of the game take place. Thinking about buying the island, he got involved in a bidding war between Puffton Corporation and Sahara Therapeutics, which he successfully won. Immediately after the victory, he began construction on the island.

He most likely spent several years building his huge underground resort on the island, which includes living quarters, offices, spas, bars, gyms, canteens, and even golf courses with nightclubs. At this time, many secular figures began to settle in the unfinished resort, and some even settled in it. However, over time, its engineers and builders began to discover a mysterious mineral found in the depths of the caves.

Eventually, Edward Puffton turned into a mutant, due to an artifact discovered by him and his employees. Because of this, 31 weeks before the start of the game, he and his family were unable to contact the outside world. It is because of this that the main character and his team decide to fly to the island, starting the events of the game.
