FPS Boost, Stutter Fix & Input Lag Reduction
By 人生は奇妙です
Yet another new game on Unreal Engine 5, and yet again, we’re greeted with performance issues. In this guide, I’ll help you fix them.

This method significantly improved smoothness for me, boosted FPS by 30-40%, eliminated stutters, and even enhanced visual quality.

Main Solution
As usual, talented modders come to the rescue, fixing all (or nearly all) the issues in just a few hours. Why the developers themselves can’t do this remains a mystery.

1. Go to this link [www.nexusmods.com] (make sure you have a Nexus Mods account).

2. You’ll see two files available. If you don’t have VRR/G-Sync/FreeSync, download the file that doesn’t support these technologies. If you use any of these sync technologies, download the version that includes support for them.

3. Press Win + R, then paste the following path in the window that appears: %localappdata%\Project_Plague\Saved\Config\Windows

4. This will open the game’s configuration folder. Place the downloaded file from Nexus Mods here.

5. Right-click the file, go to Properties, and enable Read-only.

This mod significantly improves game smoothness, boosts FPS by around 30–40%, eliminates input delays, and enhances overall visual quality.

If you have an AMD GPU and get a black screen on launch, delete lines (including duplicates) "D3D12.PSO.DriverOptimizedDiskCache=1" and "r.RDG.ParallelExecute=1" from "Engine.ini" and re-enable "Read-only."
Additional Troubleshooting Methods
1. IMPORTANT: The game must be installed on an SSD.
2. Your GPU drivers are updated to the latest version.
3. Windows is fully updated.
4. Close unnecessary background processes and applications while playing.

5. For RTX 40/50 series users: You can enable Frame Generation at 2x. However, RTX 50 owners should avoid using 3x or 4x to prevent significant input lag.

If you want to turn on the frame generator on other GPU you can use the mod dlssg-to-fsr3 [www.nexusmods.com]

Further FPS Boosts
If you’re still experiencing low FPS, try disabling Global Illumination in the game settings.

This will noticeably reduce visual quality, but can boost performance by 40–60%.
