Introduction

MoeNovel’s first production, “If My Heart Had Wings” is a refreshing,
yet bittersweet story of youth with elements of both romance and comedy.
Taking place in a school town in the not-so-distant future, where the main character and his female companions,
being drawn by the charm of a glider form a club and aim for beyond the clouds.
Four different tales with the various female characters will unfold

Step 1: Changing System Locale to Japan

• Since this VN was developed and published in Japan, we want to ensure the patch will on it or we risk more technical problems.

  Open Control Panel

  Go to "Clock, Language Region" then go click "Region."

  A window will open. There you go the administration tab then click on "change system locale" and set it to Japan.

  Restart computer as prompted.

  Step 2: Install & Run Steam Game in your Library
  
  This guide is geared towards the Steam version of the game so make sure you run the game at least once to see if all the updates and DirectX drivers are working.
  

Patch Notes
===========

This patch restores removed content in English release of "Kono Oozora ni, Tsubasa wo Hirogete".
It is compatible with English versions provided by MangaGamer, PlayAsia and J-List. <- Steam version works for me. ~ Firejetx
It is NOT compatible with original Japanese version of the game. While its possible to replace original jp Rio.arc with patched one, game will keep throwing errors and some features will not work.

Patch features:
— All sex scenes were translated and restored.
— All censored CG was reverted to original.
— All censored scenes outside sex scenes were restored to original and translated from scratch.
— MoeNovel translation of other scenes was edited and QC'd to be closer to correct English.

Step 3: Install the latest Restoration Patch

• The link below is the latest patch for the game. There is currently a 2nd patch in the works by the same community and it will likely be released towards the end of this year or the beginning of 2015. But for now lets focus on the current one.

Step 4: Applying the Patch

*IMPORTANT* Step 5: Install Fixed .batfiles and RioArc.files

• Now we have to install some other files because if you run the .bat file, there will be missing lines, backgrounds and sprites for Windows 8/8.1 users. I had this problem and almost gave up until I found these files.
  
  Install these files and move them into the Steam Folder of the game like in Steps above.

  RioArc.File: Before downloading this, make a copy of the Rio.arc file currently in the Steam folder and save it on your desktop for later use. This file will tell you to replace the one in the folder, just replace it.

  Step 6: Running Patch
  
• Now this is the hardest part, you have to run the patch and pray it works. Make sure you have administrative permissions for this step.

  Make sure you have all the files in the previous step in the Steam Folder of the game.

  2

  Go to the "IMHHW restoration patch improved.bat," right-click and run as administrator. A command prompt will pop up.

  The command prompt will tell you a Y/N question for the patch location (Program Files (x86).....MoeNovel etc). MAKE SURE YOU SAY NO. If you click enter "Y" it will make another folder of the game which will make the whole process pointless. Enter "N" and type down exactly this "Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/If My Heart Had Wings" then press enter.

  After you enter the text above in the CMD, it will run the patch in the Steam folder. Let it finish if it asks you a Y/N or question, answer Y for each.

  When its done, it will close the cmd if not close it yourself, then restart computer.

Congratulations... maybe.
You installed the patch, now lets see if it works. Restart computer and run the game.

• If you don't see the "MoeNovel" logo pop up as the game launches (white screen), it worked.
  
• If you see Rio.arc.bkp in your game folder, the patch worked.
  
• If you go into the game and see boobs in the bath scene, it worked perfectly!

I'm not sure how effective my steps are, but here are some possible fixes.

1. Restart computer with locale on Japan and play game again.

2. Delete the new Rio.arc file I told you to download that you put in the Steam Folder and replace it with the Rio.arc file in the PatchZip file you downloaded. Then right-click run the IMHHW restoration patch improved.bat as admin and do Step 6 again.

3. Run the apply_diffs_fixed64.bat file in the game Steam Folder (Right-click it run as admin) and follow the CMD instructions then run the IMHHW restoration patch improved.bat (Right-click it run as admin). Follow Step 6 again.

4. You might have another folder of the game, go to your Programfiles (x86) and if you see a "MoeNovel" folder, delete it and do the tutorial again.

5. If all else fails, uninstall the game and delete the patch, installing everything again in Japan system locale.
