🖥️ Mac Problems & Double Clicking – Workarounds
Hey everyone!
We want to address a known issue affecting Mac users running macOS versions older than Sonoma. If you're experiencing problems such as:
  • Needing to double-click for every action.
  • Buttons or UI elements not responding.
  • General unresponsiveness during gameplay.
You're not alone! This is a known macOS focus-related issue, especially when running the game in windowed or borderless mode. Fortunately, Apple resolved this in macOS Sonoma with the introduction of Game Mode, but if you're on an older version, read on.
Workarounds for macOS Versions Older than Sonoma 🛠️
Until you can update to a newer version of macOS, here are some steps that may help mitigate the issue!
1️⃣ Don’t Click During Loading
Wait until the game has fully loaded into the main menu before clicking anything. Some players on Reddit reported that this helps the game register focus correctly.
2️⃣Always Use Fullscreen Mode
Go to: Main Menu → Settings → Video → Display Mode → Fullscreen. This mode greatly improves input behaviour and helps prevent focus loss.
3️⃣Cmd + Tab Trick (Alt‑Tab Equivalent)
Press Cmd + Tab to switch to another app and then back to the game. This can force the system to refocus the game window and fix input issues.
4️⃣Restart the Game
If you're stuck with double-clicking behaviour, a quick restart often resolves it.
🍏For macOS Sonoma (14.0) and Newer Users
Apple introduced Game Mode with Sonoma, which helps prioritise games and reduce latency. If you're still experiencing issues on Sonoma, read on.
✅Make Sure You're in Fullscreen
Press Control + Command + F, or click the green button at the top-left corner of the game window. When Game Mode activates, you’ll briefly see a game controller icon in the top-right menu bar. There’s no setting to manually enable it. Game mode activates automatically when:
  • The game is running natively on macOS.
  • It’s recognised by macOS as a game.
  • It’s running in fullscreen mode (not windowed/borderless).
