Shrine Guide — Void War
This guide covers all known shrine events in Void War, including the Gore, Machine, Imperial, Bone, and Listening Station shrines. It details the available choices, their consequences, and the rewards or penalties tied to each path. Whether you're looking to optimize your run or simply want a deeper understanding of the lore and mechanics, this guide will walk you through each shrine interaction step by step.

At the start of each new game—or whenever you reach a new sector through the Stargate—you may notice a shrine marked on your map. These shrines appear as shown in the image within this section or in the thumbnail you saw when selecting this guide.

Gore Shrine
Location: Blood Cult sectors

You come across a small, deserted outpost. Nothing appears out of the ordinary, save for a pattern of complex sigils pointing toward a single flayed corpse nailed to the entrance. It is a shrine to an ancient god.
  • 1. Continue

After disposing of the enemy ship, you set your sights on the shrine ahead. It pulses with malevolent fire, fed by the sacrifice of the destroyed vessel.
  • 1. Pledge yourself to the blood god
  • 2. Leave

You resolve to pledge yourself to the blood god. Further sacrifice must be made.
  • 1. Offer your blood
  • 2. Cancel

A wave of perverse energy floods your psyche. Blood trickles from your eyes. The pain is excruciating.
  • 1. Continue

Delirious with agony, you begin to lose consciousness. You feel something akin to rapture.
  • 1. Continue
The commander is injured.

You wake up to discover a strange brand carved into your neck. It bleeds.

  • Gore Shrine Activated
  • Blood Cultists will appear more often in the Shaman and Mercenary Contractor.
  • Commander cannot rest for 3 jumps.
Machine Shrine
Location: Machine Slave or Priest sectors


There is a monument to the Machine God here. It bristles with arcane circuitry and ghostly data streams. You make your way inside and locate an active terminal.
  • 1. Pledge yourself to the Machine God
  • 2. Leave

You resolve to pledge yourself to the Machine God. You access the terminal.
  • 1. Continue

“The flow of data is constant, but there are those who disrupt it. How does the faithful servant act?”
  • 1. Correct the error (Correct choice)
  • 2. Punish the disruptor
  • 3. Leave it to fate

“Confirmed. Incrementing.”
  • 1. Continue

“A machine has served its purpose and is no longer efficient. It is decommissioned. What do you feel?”
  • 1. Relief
  • 2. Regret
  • 3. Nothing (Correct choice)

“Confirmed. Incrementing.”
  • 1. Continue

“A worker unit sacrifices itself to prevent a system collapse. Do you celebrate its devotion?”
  • 1. Yes, it served with honor
  • 2. No, it merely functioned as intended (Correct choice)
  • 3. I mourn its loss

“All diagnostics concluded. Logical coherence maintained.”
  • 1. Continue

“Your devotion has been recorded. The Divine Machine accepts your service. New resource allocations have been sanctioned.”
  • 1. Continue

  • Machine Shrine Activated
  • Machine Priests will appear more often in the Shaman and Mercenary Contractor.
  • You receive your rewards.
Imperial Shrine
Location: Imperial sectors

You arrive at an old Imperial Shrine. Its structure is worn, but its solemn presence commands respect.
  • 1. Pledge yourself to the Imperial Cult
  • 2. Leave

You swear fealty and devotion to the Imperial Cult. A radiant warmth floods your veins, like the embrace of the sun itself, igniting your faith with renewed strength.
  • All crew restored.
  • 1. Continue
  • You receive your rewards.

Listening Station
Location: Raider Outlaw sectors

You come across a hidden outpost of the raider clans. Though it appears to have been deserted long ago, a still-functioning signal relay remains in one of the side antechambers.
  • 1. Continue

The relay utilizes ancient and powerful technology capable of broadcasting messages across vast distances. It is said that certain raider clans use this tech to manage networks of operatives across the galaxy. You have the opportunity to broadcast a transmission.

  • 1. Pledge allegiance to a raider clan
  • 2. Move on

You broadcast a transmission, announcing your allegiance to whichever clan this relay belongs to. You set the transmission to loop continuously and move on with your journey.

  • 1. Continue

Several days pass, and an encrypted message arrives with a small package:

“We hear you. We will put the word out. You better not mess this up. We will be watching.”

  • Listening Station Activated
  • Raider Outlaws will appear more frequently.
  • You receive your rewards.
Bone Shrine
Location: Death Cult sectors

With the enemy ship neutralized, you approach the grisly outpost and discover a shrine within. Strangely, you hear the buzzing of flies, even though none are present.

  • 1. Pledge yourself to the god of death
  • 2. Leave

You resolve to pledge yourself to the god of death. Further sacrifice must be made.
  • 1. Embrace mortality
  • 2. Cancel


The temperature drops with a supernatural chill. The command deck goes dark. A sickening, crushing weight seizes you.


  • Sensors destroyed
  • All crew slowed

  • 1. Continue

Suddenly, you hear the rasping of shredded throats. The dead crawl out from the walls.
Intruders detected: enemy Ghouls and Rotspawns appear.

  • 1. Continue

With the undead horde dealt with, a wave of nausea washes over you. Your skin takes on a sickly pallor and your eyes weep blackened fluid. You cough up a handful of your own teeth.

  • 1. Continue

You tear open your shirt to discover a hideous rune carved into your chest. Maggots squirm in the open wound.

  • 1. Continue

  • Bone Shrine Activated
  • Death Cultists will appear more often in the Shaman and Mercenary Contractor
  • Commander cannot rest for 3 jumps
Rage Shrine
Location: War Cult Sectors


An ominous spiked structure drifts silently in your viewport. It is a shrine to an ancient war god.
  • I. Continue

Usually, there is an encounter here because of the war shrine, but it is possible there isn’t one.
As you approach, your sensors detect an incoming hostile signature.

  • I. Continue

No new threats detected. You return to the shrine.
  • Pledge yourself to the god of war *
  • Leave

You pledge yourself to the god of war. Moments later, you find yourself surrounded by dozens of cult warships. You begin spooling your engines, preparing to engage—but you soon realize they are attacking each other, not you. You consider joining the battle.
  • Join the fight *
  • Perform a tactical retreat

A supernatural rage overwhelms your senses. You activate your combat systems and target the nearest ship.
  • I. Continue

With the enemy defeated, another ship confronts you. It is enormous. Its commander proclaims, "I am Krom's champion."
  • I. Continue

The Kromic champion has been defeated. There is a brief period of silence and stillness.
  • I. Continue

A sudden flash of argent lightning pierces the stellar backdrop and sends a shockwave rippling across the battlezone. Every cultist vessel winks out of existence. Your ship is alone once more.
  • I. Continue

Your hands tremble uncontrollably. A white-hot sigil has been burned into the inside of your left wrist. You feel an insatiable lust for battle.
  • I. Continue

  • Shrine of Rage Activated – You will see more war cultists in the Shaman and Mercenary Contractors.
  • Commander cannot rest for 3 jumps.
