Crappy Guide to The Dark Prophecy

A bare bones walkthrough, focused mostly on achievements and progression. I would highly recommend interacting with more of the elements but if you're stuck, hopefully this will get you unstuck.

The Adventure Begins
For an achievement, click on the following while on the title screen: Sheep, Witch, Field, Guards, Trees, Moat, Lake, Castle

Start new game

Get a feel for the controls by cycling through "Use", "Talk to", and "Look at". Look at the various points of interest until bubbles appear on the lake.

Look at > Bubbles

“I am so afraid right now! I'm going to run away!” > “No way! (run away immediately)” > First ending
(You'll need to restart the game after this, not tied to an achievement)

“Who are you?”/”Oh I am hallucinating again, I see” > “What do you need?” > “Yes! I’m ready to help!”
Quick Achievement Endings Before You Get In Too Deep


Lake > Walk to Lake Bottom > Ending



Walk to Village > Use Berries > Use Berries > Ending
Part One: Getting into the Castle


Use > Red Leaf (far left of screen) (added to inventory) before going to Village



Use > Berries (Berry added to inventory)

Use > Wheat (Added to inventory)

Talk to > Witch > Any dialogue option > “Can you give me the key to your house?” (and she just...gives you the key to her house because you're the protagonist)

Go to Castle Entrance



Talk to > Troll > “You are a troll, right?” > “What are you doing here?” > “So what, do you just sit here all day?” > “Yes!” > “I have nothing! Can we play for a slap?” > Pick either hand (You are unfortunately slapped, but you will get your revenge)

Go to Village. Hover near the top of the screen to access inventory. Click on key, then click on Witch's House



Use > closed chest. There is a quick puzzle to unlock it.



Use > opened chest (rope added to inventory)

Use book (one near the window) > Deepen into reading about village history past > Continue reading > Continue reading again > Continue reading again (Passage mention added to inventory)

Pull up inventory > Look at > Passage mention

Leave to Village

Click on Rope, then Well, to access Well




Use > Shroom (Shroom added to inventory)

Use > Root (Root added to inventory)

Talk to Face > “Do you know how to win at the troll game?” > “Where can I get a lucky coin?” > “How do I open Mira’s cellar?”

Return to Witch's House

Click on Root > Closet (Amulet added to inventory)

Use Amulet (You can now talk to several things including the Scarecrow and Mr. Fluffy)

Go to Lake

Talk to Fish > “Bring me the skeleton’s stuff, please” (receive bundle)

Use Bundle (You now have the underwater breathe spell and look! you've already collected most of the ingredients ahead of time!)

Quick trip to Well to click on dirty bottle and put in clean water (receive empty clean bottle)

Berry, Red Leaf, Shroom, Amulet into Boiler

Empty clean bottle > Boiler (receive underwater breathe potion)

Use underwater breathe potion

Click on Root > hot coils (underneath boiler) (melting stick added to inventory)

Go to Lake, and then Lake Bottom




Use rusty sword (added to inventory) (and that's all you can do down here, it's very disappointing)

Go to Well, click on rusty sword, then locked door. Welcome to Dark Passage.



Click on melting stick, then extinct torch

Use skeleton (royal sign added to inventory)

Return to Castle Entrance

Talk to > Guardian #1 > “May I enter the castle?” > “Look! I have this piece of cloth with royal sign! I have urgent business inside castle!”

You have infiltrated the castle.



Part Two: Shenanigans in the Castle
Welcome to Courtyard



Go to Servants' Room



Use bag of potatoes

Go to Jail



Use barrel

Return to Courtyard to Talk to Steward

“A sack of potatoes was torn in the servants’ room and now the potatoes are scattered on the floor!” > “In the prison, a barrel of wine leaked and a crate of food got wet!”

Go into Throne Room



Attempt to talk to king. You are promptly booted.

Return to Jail.

Talk to secretive prisoner > “Why are you here?” > “I recently met the king. He has a tough temper!”

Go to Courtyard.

Talk to servant > “Have you not heard why the king ordered the prisoner to be put in jail?” (This is the only reason for this poor servant's existence, is to tell you why the secretive prisoner has been jailed)

Go to Kitchen.



Talk to the cook > “I was sent from the throne room! The King wants to eat the soup as quickly as possible!” > (try to make a soup)

Puzzle time again. It's a bit hard to make out in the below screenshot, so the order is Potato, Potato, Carrot, Herbs, Corn, Potato, Herbs, Herbs



Go to Servants Room

Use cloth

Use box > use spices (added to inventory)

Return to Kitchen. Talk to the cook to give the spices to the cook. Receive soup.

Return to throne room. Talk to king. The king only cares about the soup you brought him.

Go to Wizards Room



Use > bowl with crystals (turquoise crystal added to inventory)

Return to Jail

Talk to > secretive prisoner > “Could you give me a piece of your clothes?” > “Would you give me a piece of your clothes for a cup of your favorite soup?”

Return to Kitchen

Talk to the cook > “The king urgently needed another portion of soup! Is there more left?” (receive Soup for the Prisoner)

Talk to secretive prisoner > (Give the prisoner the soup) (receive criminal's cloth)

Click on turquoise crystal, then criminal's cloth, to create crystal in tissue.

We are now in the home stretch.

Part Three: The Endgame
Return to Witch's House

Click on crystal in tissue, then hatch

Mira's Cellar is now open



Use > lucky coin (Finally time for some revenge on the troll)

Go to Castle Entrance

Talk to > Troll > “Let's play a game!” > “I can bet this coin. If you bet your insomnia pollen.” > Pick left hand (receive insomnia pollen)

SAVE GAME before doing the Heartless ending.

Heartless Ending: Return to Witch's House. Click on insomnia pollen and then Mr. Fluffy. (I hope that achievement was worth it you monster)

If not doing the heartless ending or restarting from the save, Go to Wizard's Room.

Click on insomnia pollen > Sleeping Merlin

Talk to Merlin > “I have an urgent message from Maurice!” > “He asked me to tell you that Prophecy #13 has begun to be fulfilled!”

And here are your options for ending the game:

  • “Hmm, I do not know…”/”I seem to fit the description… Yes, that's exactly me.” will give you the same ending in which you are cast out of the village.

  • Choosing to say "Goodbye!" will let you continue to mess around in the world without ending the game. If there is a way to accomplish a different ending, I have not figured it out yet or seen a playthrough of it.
