This aircraft was specifically designed with a focus on sea operations.
That means it can operate from both land and water, but it required some adjustments due to Ravenfield’s limitations.
(There might be easier ways, but this is the system I developed, and it works.)


• When spawning on land:
Make sure to take off immediately. There is an 8-second timer after spawn.
If you stay on the ground too long, the Catalina will sink into the ground.
This is because floaters and gear colliders are disabled shortly after spawn to allow smooth water takeoff later.

• When spawning on water:
You can gain speed and take off without pressing spacebar.
The plane will "dip" slightly into the water due to its weight and setup, just pull up smoothly to lift off.

• Landing gear notice:
You may see the landing gear extended while spawning on water, that’s intentional.
It's part of the system that allows landings later on.
Once you gain enough speed and altitude, the gear will automatically retract using an animation system.


• Press 8:
Lowers the sea floats if you want to land on water.
Make sure they are fully deployed before touching down!

• Press 9:
Retracts the floats and enables takeoff from water.
Once retracted, just gain speed and pull up, no need to press spacebar again.


Everything here was custom made using animations and trigger systems.
It took me about 3–4 weeks of evening work to build and test the model and mechanics.
It’s not perfect, but it’s free, enjoy flying the Catalina!
